- In today's yugioh vlog we spend some time with Nyhmnim, Crush Cards, Distant Coder and get some games in against Orcust with HEROS. We also visit the most recent YCS Champion Trif Gaming where we lift, he teaches me about the new cards and we prepare for our next tournament in 2025. Hopefully the nostalgia and warm feelings shine through in the vlog and you enjoy our journey together :) Also, I filmed this like Returning To Yugioh and Sealed Only 1v1 so it should be a little nostalgic too!

This last year has beat me down to the point of no return but I got some good friends that look out for me and they all came from this game and one piece tcg. Your channel is a breath of fresh air. 2024 ygo has been a year where as ive been getting back into the game myself ive heard nothing but complaining across social media. Whether it be snake eyes format, the banlist or locking important staples at a high rarity, its been really tough to stay positive. I appreciate this series as it brings a positive light to the locals experience. The friends and competitive spirit are what brough me back myself, and its nice to see someone sharing that experience on this platform.

That first game was so clutch!! It's one of the reasons I love to play Heroes, as you can play through so many interactions going second.
Yeah, sometimes the hands just feel unstoppable... other times we lose to a single hand trap, but hey, the variance makes it rewarding when we do have games like that :')

Honestly, jut wait until February. The new Blue-Eyes structure deck coming then is really good, and has reprints for a lot of staple cards that you will probably want to pick up anyway. It will be a pretty solid starting point if you want to get into the game.
never in my life would i think you were coming back, its good to see a youtuber where i feel like i dont have to turn down my volume cause hes yelling about yugioh and just showing the good side of it.
So glad to see Yugitubers present themselves as full people. So much of our negative emotions around Yugioh come from seeing it too much as our identity. We are more than the games we play. Videos like this motivate us to eat healthy, exercise, and spend time with our loved ones.

Another incredible Vlog! The real life slices between yugioh are just perfect, really gives you perspective on the best aspect imo of the game: meeting and socializing with people. Plus, as a Hero player as well, these are difficult times! I too struggle with my list, there are a lot of viable options/ratios and with the new evil hero support coming, it's gonna be even more tight ahah

If you are looking for more hero spice I recommend Spell card monster reborn. It's very good at helping you play through bystials especially when they target mali but it can also bring back DPE. Or you can use it as disruption if you managed to do your regular hero combo. Highly recommend.

Man this is so cool. I played as again and again in my early 20s with duel links. Recently considered trying in paper for real and knocking the rust off but our locals literally died. It fell down to 4 then 2 and now 0. They even took it off the schedule at our store. :(
Perhaps master duel could be a fun place to put time! It’s a slightly different format but still a lot of fun! Alternatively, you could convert some of your friends into card players, then restart the local scene together 😄

Got back into Yu-Gi-Oh! through Master Duel this year and seeing you enjoying the game with HEROs makes me want to rebuild the deck myself for the TCG to play in person again after being out of the game for a couple of years.
Glad the video got you thinking about getting back into the game 😄 The Hero deck should get quite a bit better late January, as we have new Evil Heros out in Supreme Darkness!

During Christmas Eve after I saw the Sonic 3 movie, I managed to pull a QCR HERO Art Polymerization from ONE mini box of Quarter Century Bonanza from Gamestop.

Was it scary to start this channel? Documenting your return of the game is really cool. I think a lot of people really enjoy the attention to detail you put into making this. I would love to do something similar but I wouldn’t know where to start
Making the channel was interesting in that I think it quickly stretched my comfort levels. I've made RUclips videos for a living for the last decade on another channel (Stay Creative Painting) so filming myself felt natural, but there was a curve in feeling comfy about taking the camera out into the world. After 3 or 4 locals it felt good though. You find people who are happy to be on camera, and then things grow, feel more fun and positive reinforcement loops start. You just have to be brave and consistent through the initial stages, then it flows :)
Bumping the deck to 45 or 50 sounds pretty good!
Yeah, drawing double Mali less often would make life as a whole feel pretty good :') Also, we just have so many fun cards to play in archetype, definitely down to experiment!

What do you recommend for someone who wants to get back into the game? Seeing you play int his video looks very tankie but understanding interactions seems really unintuitive unless you just know all the cards lol
