The lecture was given during the literary conference Around the Point: The Languages, Literature and Cultures of Jews, held by BIU's Department of Literature of the Jewish People in December 2012.

כדובר גרמנית ועברית, אני חייב להגיד שכשאני מנסה לקרוא טקסט ביידיש, הן מבחינת מילים והן מבחינת דקדוק, עברית בקושי עוזרת לי. אני פשוט מרגיש שאני קורא גרמנית מצחיקה.. הדבר היחיד שעוזר בלדעת עברית מודרנית זה שזה עוזר בקריאה, זהו. אני מן הסתם לא באמת דובר יידיש, אבל אני מסוגל להבין קצת בזכות הגרמנית, כמעט כלום בזכות העברית. בגלל זה קשה לי מאוד לקבל את התיאוריה הזאת. קראתי גם את הספר שלו, אבל אולי בגלל שאני לא בלשן לא הבנתי כלום. בכל מקרה הוא צודק בנקודה אחת לחלוטין: דוברי עברית מודרנית לא באמת מבינים את התנ"ך. קלטתי את זה רק כשבמקרה פתחתי את התנ"ך בגרמנית והתחלתי לקרוא וקלטתי כמה לא הבנתי כלום.
הוא לא אומר שאתה יכול להבין יידיש רק דרך להיות דובר עברית. הוא מאמין שיידיש השפיע הרבה על התחביר, הדקדוק והאינטונציהעברית מודרנית . ואני מסכים על זה. לדוגמא שפת האם שלי הוא יוונית ותחבירה דומה לעברית. זה עזר לי מאוד עם עברית ועכשיו עברית עוזרת לי עם יידיש.

Zuckermann argues that Israeli Hebrew, which he calls "Israeli", is a hybrid language that is genetically both Indo-European (Germanic, Slavic and Romance) and Afro-Asiatic (Semitic). He suggests that "Israeli" is of Yiddish, as well as Polish, Russian, German, English, Ladino, Arabic and other languages spoken by modern Hebrew revivalists.

Zuckermann is the founder and convener of the Adelaide Language Festival.
[3 is an Israeli-born language revivalist[1] and linguist who works in contact linguistics, lexicology and the study of language, culture and identity.[2]
Zuckermann is Professor of Linguistics and Chair of Endangered Languages at the University of Adelaide, Australia.
Zuckermann applies insights from the Hebrew revival to the revitalization of Aboriginal languages in Australia.[16] According to Yuval Rotem, the ambassador of the State of Israel to the Commonwealth of Australia, Zuckermann's "passion for the reclamation, maintenance and empowerment of Aboriginal languages and culture

Zuckermann was born in Givatayim, Israel, to a Jewish family, and raised in the city of Eilat. He served as a soldier in the Intelligence Corps of the Israeli military (IDF)[

It is difficult to derive one answer from all different languages and sense of
values.

direction may be able to under stand.

So true... context and ambiguity is a real issue and subject to interpretation.
YHWH meaning cannot be understood by those who don't have the original tongue
