I was laughing and said “tmi!” just a nanosecond before A&C did. I have scissors on every flat surface in my house so I don’t have that problem. Luckily for the world I live alone. . I locked myself into my front closet once and had to take the door jamb apart with my pocketknife so I know how THAT feels. Fun episode!

The Garbage Palace story was a wonderful episode! Erik and Anna were listening to music, remember? And couldn’t hear the poor prisoner. Being reminded of past episodes is fun! Like the other day, last Sunday I think, when Arne giggled “Do you want me to peel a pear?” Then I thought of THAT episode and the squeaky voice he used to represent the pear begging not to be peeled. Spontaneous fun.
I remember that episode lol. I have hair scissors, sewing scissors, that shouldn't be used for anything else and hubs has his special scissors as well so I get that lol. More cooking...always fun.
My weekdays are so hectic that I don’t have time to truly enjoy each video so they get saved for the weekend. I sit down with my knitting - my “COVID” craft - and thoroughly enjoy the time I spend “with” you. I was amazed that you didn’t have a barking, crazy mess when you said “walk” in front of the dogs. I am so used to you two speaking English that it took a little bit for it to register that Freya and Helmer are Norwegian and probably don’t understand English. 🤣🤣

You know, Arne’s dilemma of where to keep his new scissors has given me an idea to place mine on a temporary hook on my craft wall, above the craft table. This way it is visible, sorta at eye level and not in my piles or bags. If I hung the scissors like a necklace, I think I would forget it, like I forget the glasses on my head and I don’t need scissor accidents. 😊 Merry Christmas !

Scissors.....I know the problem. Somewhere outthere is a little planet for: lonely socks, keys, lighters and........scissors, all those things we lose all the time and never find back. About needles, dears. I agree that bamboo needles are soft and warm and the stitches do not easely drop, but.....I LOVE so much the sound of metal needles, ticktickticketick. That is a good idea. I bought several inexpensive lanyards on sale at Michaels (USA), and hung a very small pair of neon-colored scissors on each lanyard. The scissors were also inexpensive, but very sharp so they have a cover for the tip attached. One set in every room.
I am not keeping up with my advent knitting because I am working on gifts. I have decided to keep making advent sweaters and Christmas balls throughout the year with stash and leftover yarn from projects. I can review the you tube videos as I go to remind me of the blessings you are to all of us. Thank you for the gift of yourselves!!
Oh my, these little videos are so much fun! Some folks are scissor keepers & others are scissor 'borrowers'. One year my son got me 5 pair of cheap scissors for my birthday & i put them all over the house. My good scissors stayed with my sewing supplies ever since!

OOh scissors!... now Arne, you must put a silver coin into Carlo's next jumper surprise.... If someone gives you a blade you have to 'pay' them with a silver coin , or you will have sharp words! I have special pairs of scissors for everything , my nails, papercraft, embroidery, knitting fabric, kitchen stuff.... my little pairs have special embroidered tassel pincushions attached to them so I don't lose them . Lovely gift, don't forget the coin..we don't want any arguments!
I love your sweater Arne, it has a rather Star Trek look about it. I see there are a lot of comments about Helmer's adoption. Is he now an official member of the family? Somehow I couldn't imagine him leaving. I'm still knitting my Nordic Sweaters. Working full time in a new job means a lot less time for knitting so I keep skipping a few numbers so I have some days with sweaters to look forward to. Just finished '20' today and cast on '22'. I'll be lucky to have 12 sweaters for Christmas but at least there will be time to knit over the holiday. I love the countdown this year, thank you!

I often think about that very serious video in the spring of 2020 when Carlos shared his ordeal of having COVID-19 with us. It was quite a public service because at that point there was hardly anyone talking publicly about what having the virus was really like. I still rewatch it from time to time just to remind me. So Carlos, thank you again for your generosity in letting us know what you went through. Hard to believe it's been almost two years ago.
Over here in the US, we call them “silver” poodles. I had a silver standard until this time last year when she passed away just short of 15 years old. She was very silver by the time she was 3 or 4. I miss her very much and always look forward to seeing Helmer.

Attaching the scissors to a cord around your neck is a great idea, however what if you miss place the cord? I find if I attach a hook right by where I use something (scissors, keys, hat, etc) I learn to hang it there EVERY TIME, and I don't misplace them. It's just establishing a habit AND making it very easy and convenient. For scissors I actually have a pair in all the places I use them - kitchen drawer, utility drawer, craft table and sewing studio. I find I just can't have too many scissors.
I totally understand about the scissor thing. My husband asks to borrow mine and I always tell him to make sure he puts them back where they belong so I can find them so I need to get him his own pair I guess. Looking forward to tomorrow and seeing what you bake. It sounds like Helmer is staying for good....that is great news!
Arne and Carlos, I really enjoyed your episodes of Norwegian Craft Traditions and the story of the lice sweater from Setesdal. I am presently knitting a winter hat for my husband (whose name is also Carlos) using the pattern that Annemore Sundbo showed you at 8:25 time in the video, the one she reconstructed from a sketch of a boy from about 1840. Unfortunately, I had to modify it a wee bit and take out one of the two stripes between patterns to reduce the number of rows and get the three patterns to fit on the hat before the reductions. The other modification is that I am using cranberry background with white pattern. P.S. To avoid double pointed needles as much as possible and the infernal annoyance of the needles slipping out of the stitches, I am using two circular needles when the hat gets to small to fit on one circular needle.
Good to see you in sweaters! I can relate to both scissor dilemmas. You can't touch anyone 's scissors. Thats the rule! I had to buy my husband his own set. Cutting paper with my cloth cutting scissors was a no no, grounds for divorce! (Not really) I never can find my scissors that size and recently bought probably my 50th pair too! Lucky you. You didn't have to buy yours! I am not going to speculate on tomorrow 's cookies. They will be a surprise just like the advent sweater. My mom made a date cookie shaped like strawberries, dipped in red sugar with piped leaves on top. It wasn't Christmas without them. Cheers to Christmas memories. We haven't been able to celebrate together for two years due to the you know what. Some how, just please make this stop. I want a normal Christmas!

Carlos, you need to thrift a unique small sewing box or case that Arne should put a pair of scissors and what ever else he needs when he is knitting or creating. When you are finished for the day Arne the box/case can sit by your chair, No books allowed to be stacked on top. lol

So cute! I have an evil little entity that steals my scissors, among other things. It's a Puerto Rican Legend of a little boy imp that "moves' your stuff. You have to leave him/it little offerings of small toys and candy so he/it will leave your stuff alone.
I put scissors in with each project when I start it and have even tried attaching with yarn to bag handle. I still never seem to be able to find any when I need them. Can't figure out what happens to them 🤷♀️

Over here in the US, we call them “silver” poodles. I had a silver standard until this time last year when she passed away just short of 15 years old. She was very silver by the time she was 3 or 4. I miss her very much and always look forward to seeing Helmer.

Attaching the scissors to a cord around your neck is a great idea, however what if you miss place the cord? I find if I attach a hook right by where I use something (scissors, keys, hat, etc) I learn to hang it there EVERY TIME, and I don't misplace them. It's just establishing a habit AND making it very easy and convenient. For scissors I actually have a pair in all the places I use them - kitchen drawer, utility drawer, craft table and sewing studio. I find I just can't have too many scissors.

I totally understand about the scissor thing. My husband asks to borrow mine and I always tell him to make sure he puts them back where they belong so I can find them so I need to get him his own pair I guess. Looking forward to tomorrow and seeing what you bake. It sounds like Helmer is staying for good....that is great news!
I love the patterns on this year's Christmas balls. I haven't made any but I think I'll have to make them for next year.

Arne and Carlos, I really enjoyed your episodes of Norwegian Craft Traditions and the story of the lice sweater from Setesdal. I am presently knitting a winter hat for my husband (whose name is also Carlos) using the pattern that Annemore Sundbo showed you at 8:25 time in the video, the one she reconstructed from a sketch of a boy from about 1840. Unfortunately, I had to modify it a wee bit and take out one of the two stripes between patterns to reduce the number of rows and get the three patterns to fit on the hat before the reductions. The other modification is that I am using cranberry background with white pattern. P.S. To avoid double pointed needles as much as possible and the infernal annoyance of the needles slipping out of the stitches, I am using two circular needles when the hat gets to small to fit on one circular needle.

Good to see you in sweaters! I can relate to both scissor dilemmas. You can't touch anyone 's scissors. Thats the rule! I had to buy my husband his own set. Cutting paper with my cloth cutting scissors was a no no, grounds for divorce! (Not really) I never can find my scissors that size and recently bought probably my 50th pair too! Lucky you. You didn't have to buy yours! I am not going to speculate on tomorrow 's cookies. They will be a surprise just like the advent sweater. My mom made a date cookie shaped like strawberries, dipped in red sugar with piped leaves on top. It wasn't Christmas without them. Cheers to Christmas memories. We haven't been able to celebrate together for two years due to the you know what. Some how, just please make this stop. I want a normal Christmas!

Carlos, you need to thrift a unique small sewing box or case that Arne should put a pair of scissors and what ever else he needs when he is knitting or creating. When you are finished for the day Arne the box/case can sit by your chair, No books allowed to be stacked on top. lol

So cute! I have an evil little entity that steals my scissors, among other things. It's a Puerto Rican Legend of a little boy imp that "moves' your stuff. You have to leave him/it little offerings of small toys and candy so he/it will leave your stuff alone.

I put scissors in with each project when I start it and have even tried attaching with yarn to bag handle. I still never seem to be able to find any when I need them. Can't figure out what happens to them 🤷♀️
