I mean, only Rolex would be so brash as to have white gold hands and then cover them with black paint! Love it!
I might be wrong, but I think the markers and hands are white gold but covered with the black. In all honesty, not sure why it would be as you can’t see it. Thanks for the video.

I think it looks perfect and I wouldn't get hung up on the case size, it's all about how the watch wears for you! This is the Rolex that changed my mind from never wanting a Rolex because they're too expensive and flashy, so you hit the mark by saying it's the last true tool watch. Maybe I'll be afford it some day, but for now I got my eye set on the Tudor Black Bay GMT Root Beer. Happy collecting!
Congrats, I sold my 40mm Polar & 42mm Black Exp2 to get a Polar Exp2 42mm but I haven’t been successful yet. I might reluctantly pivot to the Grey Market.
They are trading at retail on the second hand market now if you haggle, I bought mine in September for retail price, it was a one month old watch. No point waiting for an Explorer II it’s not worth it.

So tired of waiting, you're right, just not worth all the time spent and hassle going into the AD just to come out empty handed anyway.

I think I got lucky as he listed the polar cheaper than the cheapest black model, I don’t think he realised the polar trades at a slight premium above. Most Explorer 2’s (the new model) are listed here for sale several hundred pound above retail but I’ve no doubt there are deals to be done, watches aren’t selling like they were.

I have the exact same watch within my collection and it’s my most worn watch, very rare I pick up my Sub date or DJ41 as a consequence and let’s face it everybody wears those. Another watch I recommend that is just as good is the Tudor Black Bay Pro in fact I’d say it may be even better than the Explorer 2, it’s a more harmonious and well considered design. Many people say it’s too thick but it’s not for me as I have a 6.75” wrist, similar to you it wears fine. It’s a tough choice choosing between the Explorer 2 & Black Bay Pro when I go to my watch box, they are my top picks.

More and more I feel like this is going to be my next watch. I do wish it was a 40 or 41mm but Rolex wear much smaller than average. Men’s watches really shouldn’t be smaller than 38/39mm. Regardless of wrist size.
Funny that I came across this video. I just picked up this watch last week from my ad. I was on the wait list for about 6 months and I also had my name down for the OP 41 green. We have the same size wrist and my wife says she this it looks great. I don’t think it’s too big but it is the biggest I will go. I had the previous version and sold it once I got the call. Really just wanted the updated bracelet and micro adjustment. Cheers hopefully we get the call for our OP’s
I love my Polar. It’s a grown man size watch. It fits so much better on my wrist than the 41mm GMTs- even though technically it’s only 1mm bigger. The GMTs “feel” tiny on my wrist compared to the 42mm Polar. Wear it, enjoy it, beat the shit out of it. That’s what I’m doing with mine.
I can’t believe they offered you this watch because they can’t get you an OP right now. I’ve been waiting years for this. I have purchase history, have built a relationship, check in every couple of months. Nothing. This is really frustrating!!
Why do people always explain it down....if you have a big enough wrist to wear it, don't worry about. It's frankly still too cheap to be a rolex.,,,its the bezel. Yacht-master 40 Rhodium dial :) best rolex, but also the only one i own haha.
I don't want to be a party pooper, but in my opinion, it is too big for your wrist. It takes up almost all of the real estate on your wrist, and it sometimes overhangs on the north side while viewing from your point of view - which is more or less the point of view from which you will be looking at the watch. People often say that that's the wrong angle to judge the size, and a more realistic view is provided when you take a photo of yourself in the mirror. But that's not how you will be looking at your own watch. 42mm on a 6.7 inch wrist doesn't sound right, and judging from your video, it doesn't look right either. Again, I don't mean to disrespect you, I'm just a stranger commenting. It's not like it's grotesque or comical or anything like that, but it is too big, and if you're dropping that kind of cash on a watch, you'd expect it to fit perfectly, no? In my opinion, one of the biggest problems Rolex has right now is that they just don't offer a "goldilocks" size for some of their models. They make them either too small or too big, but the "right" sizes for average wrists like yours are just not offered or have been discontinued.

The current explorer2 is a great choice both in polar or black. My favorite in sport line.

To be fair the watch has gold in it. The hour hands and the indices are gold, they just have a mate finish over them but still gold.
