I think if you look at all the faces of the royal family you will see the same look. At the same time the smirk on Meghan's face. She looked like the cat who just ate the canary.
Oh, I didn't think of that, of Catherine as a photographer, being the best person to capture those great shots of her children. Arthur is right. The children and William would be very comfortable with her taking pictures. And this does come through so much in the pictures she takes. Their smiles are so joyful and natural! Am glad Arthur is one of those who supports Catherine's venture into photography. I understand that there are some who feel like she is taking away photography jobs from actual photographers. So am glad Arthur is choosing to look at it in the way he has. In the end, it is not about who has taken the picture, it is the fact that the picture and the moment was captured and shared with us.
Precisely! Catherine isn't taking work away from anyone. There is plenty to go around, and she has genuine talent. There is nobody better to take photos of her beautiful children.
William, George, Charlotte and Louis are not the only one .. Camilla chose Catherine for the pictures in Country Live! She would never have done this, If this rumours about a strained relationship of these two were true .. But Drama sells more clicks in the Internet than harmony🥴🥴🥴
@di942842 I agree! Children feel much more comfortable and pose more naturally when their parents are taking the photos. I will always remember how daunting it was to watch Prince William as a toddler surrounded in the garden at Kensington Palace by the press pack pointing cameras in his face. The look on Princess Diana's face seemed troubled as she watched her boy stare at all these people pointing cameras at him. I applaud Princess Catherine for her approach to keeping the public updated on her children's growth and progress while shielding them from the prying eye of a professional photographer's camera angles. It seems when professional photographers are employed to take photos, they are chosen carefully and respect the children's space.
Arthur is a humble and honest man. Perhaps, not what you would expect to hear about a Sun photographer. Clearly the RF have become fond of him and understandably so. That was clear from him being given that spot to take photos at Prince. Philip's funeral. It's also nice to hear him talking about his job and experiences without any pretention or boasting.
The Queen was a fine and lovely lady even into her late nineties as she never lost her sharp mind nor her sense of humour. She is deeply missed by all.
Listening to Arthur, I think of how many beautiful moments, captured in photos, Meghan and Harry have missed. Those two have thrown away opportunities. How lucky the royal family is to have Arthur

Many interviewers seem to stick with their scripted notes and are obviously determined to get every pre-planned question answered. Sometimes the best interviews are conducted when the conversation veers off into unexpected territory that the interviewer could not have planned in advance, and it sometimes reveals such delightful stories!

My 20 year old daughter is ambivalent towards the Royals. She can't understand why I have so much respect for them. She recently returned from her first trip to London (from Sydney) and rang me excitedly one evening because she'd done the long walk up the Mall to Buckingham Palace and she saw a motorcade of cars and motorbikes driving towards the palace gates and it was King Charles and Camilla. She commented on how excited she was to spot them, even though she wasn't a Royal fan. I told her, "That is the magic of Royalty."

I worked with Arthur’s brother decades ago (late 1970s and early 1980s) . He was a very capable accountant and I learned so much from him. He spoke so highly of Arthur and inspired in me a great admiration for him.

I appreciate this interview so very much with this wonderful photographer. I loved hearing his stories and I know that he is a loyal monarchist. I want to say a big thank you to Queen Camilla for stepping up and helping out so very much during the illnesses among the royal family. I hear she is delightful to talk to and very down to earth. She suffered a lot of scorn & criticism but she demonstrated her true love for Charles. She could’ve remarried someone else just to escape the persecution. I think Charles is a better King with Camilla by his side.

He really could have made much, much more money, but he is also that rare thing; a man with integrity and respect for our Royal Family. It really touched me when he talked about having a duty to teach others just starting out in their jobs because others had helped him. As a physician we were taught in school, “see one, do one, teach one”. Also, people don’t realize how much you can learn when teaching.
Although my job is not nearly as important as yours is 🙂, I do find that when training in someone, I learn a lot by getting questions I had never thought of or had not thought about for a long time.

This was a brilliant interview. You never tire of listening to Arthur, a wealth of knowledge, and great stories. It's true, the paps might have made the big money, but his work will live on forever. I think it's great that the Palace looked after the photographers at the Coronation. They do have an important job to do. Arthur's book should be a very good read.
I remember when Arthur took a picture of the bald patch on what was then Prince Charles head. What a wonderful career full of adventure and challenge. It was nice to hear how Harry once got along and participated in choosing photos. Thanks Arthur for many funny, wonderful memories.

Arthur Edwards is a lovely lovely man. He spent a lot of time with the royals. Prince Philip was dressed as a grenadier guard - he was well into his 80s - as the late Queen walk past him and I don’t know what he said to her but she giggled like a teenager. I can have a good guess what he said. lol
No wonder he has lasted 50 years as a royal photographer. He has such a strong and solid work ethic!

I remember when Arthur took a picture of the bald patch on what was then Prince Charles head. What a wonderful career full of adventure and challenge. It was nice to hear how Harry once got along and participated in choosing photos. Thanks Arthur for many funny, wonderful memories.
I had happy tears at the end of the interview Shauna, you did a fabulous job interviewing a living legend. What a life he has had, and continues to have. A kind and gentle man. I wanted more! 😘

Arthur Edwards is a lovely lovely man. He spent a lot of time with the royals. Prince Philip was dressed as a grenadier guard - he was well into his 80s - as the late Queen walk past him and I don’t know what he said to her but she giggled like a teenager. I can have a good guess what he said. lol
