After the battle of Jing Dynasties, the royal priest Jing Qing and his wife are killed. Their oldest daughter Sun Ruowei (Wei Tang), is saved by the vice-general Sun Yu. She tries to avenge her parents but meet Zhu Zhanji (Yawen Zhu). After she sees the dark side of Ming politics, she decides to give up on her revenge and help Zhu Zhanji become the Emperor to save Ming Dynasty.

There’s a record Zhang He traveled to as far as places like Somali, Africa. It’s insane to imagine with the technology during Ming Era. I wondered if there’s a compass or something similar during that time...?
Great info, but do you know people from Somali, Africa travelled all the way to China even introducing the Chinese to giraffes by stacking some on their ships? These East African/Swahili expeditions occurred possibly earlier or at the same time as Zhang He's voyages.

In this dramatized historical drama...😆the cast of Zheng He is way too young. When he started his first voyage in 1405, he was already 36 sui or 34 years old in the Gregorian calendar. During Zhu Zhanji's father's short reign, the expedition was halted. Thus when Zhu Zhanji reigned as emperor Zhuande (1426-1435), Zheng He was 55. The Ming ship was sent out for its last expedition, and Zheng He died during that voyage (1434/1435) at 61. As a matter of fact, their age gap was 28 years.

Zheng he was a prisoner of war who worked for the Imperial family. The emperor had 3 children, one of them being Zhu Zhanji. He befriended him and once Zhu Zhanji became emperor (he got the throne), he had an expansionist mindset and sponsored Zheng He’s expeditions (Zheng Zu was a Muslim btw his real name was Mahi if I can recollect it right). Zhu Zhanji died very young at the age of 35, became an Emperor at 25 and died at 35. He sponsored the travels during his reign which was abruptly stopped after the successors adopted a confucius policy.
