I find this performance hypnotic.. the combination of Amira's voice and the choir...and I'm having to go and play it again and again - though I'm not religious!
No matter how many times I hear this ...as it really starts to build it gives me goosebumps everytime .... I would have loved a translation of the lyrics of the youth choir part though as well 😊

but i will never understand how her mother could move to dangerous South Africa, yes i know the mother is born in SA, but still, even if the reason was while living in Holland she could not perform like she wanted too, or that's i saw was a reason given, for me born in SA and then moving to Europe is reason why i question it,
I believe it's called chanting. Many religions do have these kind of chants. From Russian Orthodox Catholics to Buddhist and the chanting of Orthodox Jews. Some of them are pretty impressive. I was listening to Hare Rama Hare Krishna 'Maha Mantra's chanting, where 9 very young girls chanting this verse 108! times in 18 minutes. And apparently with pleasure 😕 I prefer Amira and Ndovlu Youth Choir's "Amen" though. This, now young woman keeps delivering... Thanks for your pov... Again.. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🌷
Please listen to Diana Damrau sing Ave Maria. There are several choices, all excellent, but my favorite is her in a German cathedral. Best Christmas music ever.
Wow, you boys really missed the mark or perhaps the Holy Spirit didn't reach you. Try listening to it more and rather than comparing it to the songs you usually react to, realize it's not just a "song," but truly an emphatic prayer of praise and worship to He who created all, our Lord God Almighty!

She has a beautiful voice but, this song is so repetitive. Maybe not the best song for my first listen. As of now, not a fan.
