Awesome. I've seen the show 3 times in London and was hoping they'd manage to capture the pre show atmosphere as well. It's like being back at the adelphi!
I’m giving Broadway props for the outside decor (there really isn’t space to do much outside the Adelpji), but the Adelphi wins hands-down for the interior of the theater. The Hill-Valley branded stands as you come into the lobby, the bar decor, and the pièce de résistance (sorry, Biff), the upstairs clock - they do a lot more ambiance inside the Adelphi than the Winter Garden is able to achieve with its limited space (though I feel like they could have done more - at least done up the bar). The store next to the Winter Garden entrance is a terrific - and smart - touch, though.
I have a feeling this is going to stay on Broadway for YEARS and I don't mind. Disney has new competition. I like this Marty better, he actually looks 17 and is not doing a Michael J Fox impression, he makes the role his own.
Olly is always going to be my favorite, but Casey is fantastic and I’m so excited to see how he grows in the role. He’s great already, and as he sees what works well with the audience he can lean in on those aspects even more. He already did it somewhat in his first go, drawing out a thing or two he could feel the audience responding to, making it even funnier. It’s really cool to see someone so young have such spot-on intuitive instincts in the moment.
