The bessa 15mm is also a light autocannon, so the forces are near equal bar national characteristics, of which taking a man from the officer to make a free observer for the brits could swing things nicely.
Good spot! I was thinking it was an MMG, but as you quite rightly point out its a light auto canon. That does even it up a bit. I checked in the armies of GB and there's an option to upgrade gun to a light antitank gun, I wonder if that will be in the kit?
You can get the British 8th army full box from alternative sites for £59.49 & the Africa korps for another £59.49 which includes 3 vehicles, 3 artillery & crew, mortar teams, machine gun teams, officer's & medics & 30+ infantry for both sides. The only thing missing is the rules & dice 🤔 That's the way I would go if I were thinking of this theatre.
You certainly can, but if you are just starting out, I think its a good set. Split it between a mate then get your add ons. Two sets of order dice, the BIG rule book and pin markers is around £70 with out discount.
Honestly probably my favourite starter set so far. I personally want to do an Afrika Korp and Indian army. So two of these would give plenty of squads, support sections and conversions. And I can definitely find uses for multiple armoured cars 👍🏻
@@TheEccentricMan I'm a big fan of Warlord but unfortunately, recently I've just found ordering from their competitors like Perry and GEG to be better options.
If you want to try something different I would say yes. The armies are more balanced. If you want to then build them, an 8th Army and a DaK box plus a couple of tanks would work well.
Good summary Ken, helpful for the new players that will be a main group looking at this set. Dan
Cheers, even though I have a reasonable DAK and British and Commonwealth forces the plastic vehicle kits are tempting.

Humber Armored Car is equipped with a Light Autocannon so both sides have a armored car with light autocannon.

It can be built as either the Mk ii with the light autocannon or the Mk iv with the light AT gun according to warlords site.

Very tempting
Even to me!!
Nice review mate,I think it's worth the money, ideal for someone getting into this hobby
Definitely, on reflection I thinks its probably the best one.
A lot depends on where you are buying it. Warlord is charging $142 in the US, way over exchange rate.
Trouble is international and national postage costs are now pretty grim. Try GC Minis in the states, he may be doing a discount on it.

@@philipknapke7529 A mans got to do what a mans got to do. 😀
@@philipknapke7529 I would like to order stuff from Brigade Games in the states, but postage and import duties means its a big no for me.
I do like the sater sets generally
They have nice themes, but not necessarily balanced.
do you still need to paint them or not?
because im looking for a starter set
They come unpainted and need to be glued together. @sonicsledgehammer has great painting guides.
The scout car looks cool though. Great insights. Thanks.
Cheers!
Is it worth getting it when you've already got the starter pack? I'd like to dive a bit deeper into BA.
Hi, what starter pack do you have?
@@TheEccentricMan the Band of brothers set...it get's boring after we played a few rounds :D

Does look like an other good starter set 👍
Certainly does.
