- Yebba is an amazing singer, but her background singers passed her off this night. She handles it so classy. All praises to Yebba and her amazing voice.
She didn’t get mad, she just didn’t want to settle for less than what she knows her band is capable of. Proud of her
Yebba: "We're gonna do this song with EXCELLENCE". Baby girl knows herself!
Also, think "on top of the note"...this always helps me get my tune right. ;)
It's awesome that she was just as emphatic with her praise when they locked it in.
She's amazing and so are her background vocals. One should want to give their best performance
She’s absolutely amazing. And she didn’t get mad at anyone. I love that she did this!
No disrespect here, thank God! She came to deliver quality to an audience that revels in quality.
Is nobody going too talk about what happened at 6:04 ? That was heavenly
typical yebba behavior
This was the most charming performance ever. I looooove me some Yebba, and her little “mistakes” (if we can even call it that lol) here and fact that she wouldn’t settle for less is too beautiful and adorable! “Hope you have the patience to enjoy it one more time” 🥰👏🏼 love it!
Yebba's voice is LIFE❣️❣️❣️
Don’t know what people see but after working live performances for years my opinion is she was pissed! The walk off the stage at the end showed it. The stage mix was bad, the FOH mix was bad, the background singers were too loud and she went off pitch several times. Small club problems. Back then she probably needed to have her own engineer and not the house guy. 🤷🏽♂️
I could hear she was singing flat in some parts especially the “evergreen” part, that sometimes happen with a room with too much noise that’s not coming from the instruments directly or a bad in ear mix.
IF she's mad at anyone it's herself for being a little pitchy. Well I have seen her live since then she is dead-on on every note and in full power. Can't wait for the next album. Seeing her Sunday at H'wood Bowl. Thank you for always singing from your heart Yebba, we love you
It’s tough bc there’s not a lot of music to hear to make sure you’re in the right key in this song…its only bass and drums… so she literally relies on her background singers to be in tune so she can be!!
Can you explain further. I'd like to understand better what you mean
@@noahvillalpando she listens to her singers to know what key to sing in. Like when you listen to a backing track or an instrument to know - she has to listen to them
@@noahvillalpando the drums doesnt play a note, the singers sing notes. she needs to hear the note the background singers are singing to be able to sing the song. if the background isnt there, she may sing to high or to low.
🍿
The background singers were singing over her. Yebba couldn’t hear herself , and it was troublesome. The second take was much better - I love Yebba , although she’s so underrated.
The sound man could’ve done a better job at mixing to compensate too. Cause it sounds like her microphone was lower than theirs.
@@musicman_cmack agreed, this was a sound guy issue. Yebs had a hard time hearing herself & the backup singers were overcompensating for not hearing themselves as well.
She was upset because the singers weren't hitting the high harmonies - we could barley hear them. That's why she kept gesturing "up" to sing higher. And some parts were off key and flat completely.
The Background Singers were on point. Others weren't.
❤Yebba . Evergreen and My mind 🙌🏽🙌🏽🥰🔥🔥🔥
Keep in mind... She's a Capricorn! The Original Goats 😁
Gawd blessed up with her
That fucking range is insane!
She is everything.
you can feel her faith in god
Happy international woman’s day. You are amazing.
She could sing me the phone book❤
Background singers was definitely trying to out sing her... can’t be mad at Yebba for having just as good of voice, if not better
Yes she was not happy at all.... i am a singer and i know that feeling where you play it off.... on the second run it still didn't come together so she gave them the song to finish and left discreetly. She had an issue with the harmony from the Singers
We don't know you girl. Maybe if you did your opinion would've carried. NEXT!
7:11 when the vision finally comes togetherrrrrr
Her background singers needed to be in a higher key. She kept urging them.
I could watch her reaction at 1:45 all day long.
Saint Harrison aka Harry Fisher (The Voice UK 2016) from Southampton 🤔
💕👍
It seem like sound issues, and lyrics
I would have been upset about the background singer on her phone. Grow up an be professional.
Probably looking at the lyrics 🤷🏼♀️
Maybe. If so, it still looks unprofessional.
She’s clearly recording and if she was okay with it why aren’t u
I love her soooo much but this is BUSTED
y’all are ridiculous defending this behavior lol. girl was having an off night and was being a total diva about it. grow up.
No, I think in fact, she had some background singers who didn’t know how to sing on her level
Who is the drummer?
Robert sput searight
Was she a choir director?
She was the worship leader at her church I believe and strived to be a music teacher before quitting school
yep, her dad had her become the director at 15yr old. great podcast interview about it.
They weren't perfectly in tune all the time, that's why Yebba got bothered.
yea they weren't at all
Honestly, it was Yebba who was out of tune, and I usually think she can pretty much do no wrong when it comes to singing. But through the whole duration of this video she was under pitch (listen to her voice in relation to the keys). She was still a little under pitch when they restarted the song, too. That's usually a sign that her monitors - in ears or wedges - were not the levels she needed them to be. I think this whole thing is is a sound issue if anything (generally backup mics should be leveled back from leads - it's all about the mix, both for the audience and in the monitors for the performers)
They were perfectly in tune. She was not. Even in the second. But we all know why they are getting blamed.
It took me a few times to listen, but yes one of her backup singers was off key and pitchy.
Whew
Just seen her for the first time singing in the studio with a room full of awesome black Gospel singers. No 1 if its church music for worshipping God then being rude to my sisters isn't very Christian No2 Jesus was humble and thought of others before himself, not concerned and caught up with how he looked and sounded or how others made him look. I thought she was a humble girl grateful to be invited to sing with the creme de la creme of black talent. I was excited to follow her to see how she did it. Now I'm utterly disappointed with what I've just witnessed
Maybe you should not follow religiosity like a dog does a bone then. You might not just be able to comprehend the history behind the piece and the value it holds. You say ur a christian but u sound like a mad f customer. Dont talk abt I didnt enjoy my meal when ur full atm
What happened?
Still waiting for her to get mad...🤔
Not necessarily "mad" but frustrated.
