Now, that's what I'm talking about. Excellence in education. Sounds good. I'm from Baltimore where 70℅ of black high school students read and do math at a kindergarten level. The irony about that is 80℅ of the teachers identity themselves as black. All teachers should know how to read; understand what they're reading and how to teach reading. Hooked on Phonics & Math are great programs which all teachers should master before starting their careers. And keep it inside of their classrooms. Knowledge is power.
