Throughout her years of teaching she has judged in many competitions, judging Lucy Spraggan, George Samson, amongst others who have gone onto succeed in the business.

Murder song (5, 4, 3, 2, 1) live on the Nobel peace prize concert is probably one of the most vocally and musically interesting performances of her. The way she intertwines her emotions with her voice is spectacular

She is Norwegian /Viking from the NW coast of Norway. The Irish got their accent from the Vikings. That is why you detected Irish (Viking) like sounds.

I hope you will react to more of Aurora's original songs. I suggest these four songs form her live concert in Nidarosdomen: It Happened Quiet, Soft Universe, Murder Song 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, and Lucky (which she wrote wrote when she was 9 years old) The Nidarosdomen is unbelievable beautiful and showcases her brilliance.
I also suggest Running With The Wolves, any live performance you like and her performance of Runaway at The 2015 Nobel Peace Prize Concert (she was 11-12 when she wrote Runaway). My two last original suggestions are two outdoor performances: Black Water Lilies | SXSW 2016 where a bird joins in at 1:33 and Little Boy In The Grass | Mahogany Session, sung out on the water in a boat, Aurora wrote Little Boy In The Grass when she was 15 years old as a homage to the 69 teenagers killed in the Utøya mass shouting in 2011.
I do understand that there is a viewer issue and that Aurora don't draw as many views as famous singers and that it might be better for you channel that you react to Aurora covering big songs. Her own songs are absolutely magical, but every single song she covers she transform and gives new life. I obviously would prefer you react to her original songs, but I want only good things for you and you channel so I have some cover suggestions, but first a short explanation on the nature of some of her covers.
The thing with Aurora's God Is A Woman cover is that it was done on the NRK radio show Christine Live P3. The concept of the show is that the artist come in for an interview and to sing two songs live. They get to sing one of their own songs and a cover, but they do not know in advance what cover they will be singing, instead they get a song when they arrive and the artists have some time before they go on live, and that is all the time they have to prepare the for the cover. This is why you see Aurora have a notebook with the lyrics and notes.
Aurora has been on Christine Live P3 several times and I suggest you react to two other brilliant P3 covers: Miley Cyrus "Wrecking ball" and Imagine Dragons "Believer". Aurora has also covered David Bowie's "Life On Mars" and it is breathtaking.
And I hope you also will save for your wonderful Christmas reactions her Christine Live P3 "Det hev ei rose sprunge" the Norwegian translation and version of the German "Es ist ein Ros entsprungen" ("A rose has sprung up") and her cover of "Walking In The Air" form her Nidarosdomen concert.

Very good reaction video of yours. It's in fact a pleasure to watch you enjoying this as much. Aurora has actually brought a touch of Norwegian folk music into this song, I feel. Especially in certain parts of the song, where she uses traditional singing techniques that also influences on the pronunciation of words, as she would've done in her own mother tongue and transferring this to the English language, that would also have impact on her accent. As certain sounds are intentionally emphasised more than others, and where consonants play and important role more than it does in modern music. Consonants are used to climb up and down on notes as if they were vowels and where a clear pronunciation is essential for the purpose of delivering a message, as music was used in the old days. She has said in interview that she likes traditional music. Which I trust. We hear that she does, it seem so heartfelt what she sings and the way she expresses her lyrics seem to come all natural. She only uses a touch of traditional techniques, which also some other musicians do these days, and in that way creating contemporary music that yet have song traditional ties. She does this in much of her other music and to different degrees and surely intentionally, as I feel. She's blending in other techniques for this song as well, and it's a beautiful blend.
Norwegian folk music can remind much of Irish and Scottish folk music and you clearly point out from which part of the world this music has it's roots. Which seem reasonable, considered these countries common history with Norway. There's been much exchange of culture between these countries through the history ever since the Viking age. I mean, who established Dublin in 841? The Vikings. The same goes for Scotland, that partly was a part of the Kingdom of Norway for several centuries since the mid 800s and onward, and with a strong connection also in the time that followed. Even today, centuries after the devision, 25% of the population at the Scottish isle of Orkney, is in fact of norse heritage according to their DNA, it's been said, which says a great deal. The population there was formerly known as the Norse-Gaels. I find this type of historical facts interesting also of personal reasons and I know there's been a strong connection between Norway and the British Isles and Ireland, and would be surely even music wise. I trust that many more people from the UK or Ireland could relate to Norwegian folk music, and it seem that internet can be a door opener in this matter to people that normally wouldn't get exposed to that type of music otherwise. Because, to many people this music would be closer to their heart and of more reasons than they might be aware of, also because they are related through history and heritage.

If you would like another audience, you should react to another genre of music. Im talking about metal. 😉 There are some great vocalists, like Floor Jansen (also called the goddess, lol), and on the male side, we have Devin Townsend. The fan base of those are very passionate (like me). 😁 I recommend Nightwish - Ghost Love Score (live at Wacken 2013) or Nightwish - song of myself (same show). And Devin Townsend - Deadhead (live at Royal Albert Hall). Cheers!
Acapella is always a treat, and this is a beautiful performance! Your observations about her style, technique, and arrangement choices help the ordinary non-singer (like me) better appreciate the artist's skill. It's easy for us to miss the sophistication and difficulty of a great performance because the great performers make everything look so easy!
You mentioned Kate Bush as a point of reference, but I'll wager that a sizable percentage of your viewers (especially Americans) aren't aware of Kate. Just for fun, why don't you do a reaction to her debut single "Wuthering Heights" (ruclips.net/video/-1pMMIe4hb4/видео.html). It was released 41 years ago, and I've enjoyed popular music since the early '50s, but somehow I totally missed her until 5 years ago. I've come to realize what a TRAGIC LOSS of time that was! If we tested and licensed music listeners like we do automobile drivers, "Wuthering Heights" would be on the exam! I can (and sometimes do) view this YT video daily.

Yes I love All Is Soft Inside. I it is a very different and absolutely fantastic. When Queen released Bohemian Rhapsody, it was a big chance and something nobody had heard before. I am not saying Soft Inside is as good, (but I am silently thinking it, especially because the lyrics add so much to the song) but it is in some ways as different and weird. It also reminds me of David Bowie in that it is experimental, different, fresh and new. She is daring, insisting on making the kind of music she has inside her feel the world needs.
She is so free and in tune with herself, and it seems like she performs the bridge in All Is Soft Inside differently, depending on her mood. The whole performance in Brazil is ultra-feminine and the bridge is divine and ethereal, while the performances in Iceland is more demanding and bridge is hungry and wild. I love them both and listen to the one that fist my mood best form day to day. Witch version do you prefer?
All is soft inside is my absolute favorite of Aurora, especially the first KEXP version, I just can't find words to explain how this wild bridge resonates in me... It's like all the bad energy and your inner demons go away of your body with this flow of energy...

first, ya gota hear her live. second, your the first one Ive who have noted the Irish/Gaelic influence. spotted it early in her career. dont know anything about the connection between the Gaelic and the Norwegian but it must be there.
You likened it to Irish. Perhaps there are some shared culture between the Irish and the Norwegians (she is Norwegian, from the west coast), and there certainly were back in the day. Her singing sounds a bit similar to "kveding", which is an old traditional style of singing in Norway, but whether she was influenced by that or by contemporary/traditional music from Ireland is something only she can answer.

This is not Gaelic or Irish, its the sound of the Northsea. Very similar to some of the Norwegian folk music.

I don't know what happened to Aurora's voice throughout 2019, but she performed this very song at KEXP and it didn't sound quite the same as here. In fact, it sounded like her voice was hurt and couldn't manage to sing it with a perfect-pitched voice, and it hasn't been the only time. Lots of her live performances sounded like she had the same problem, which made me concern. She herself has said she doesn't know if her technique is the right one when singing and may need a vocal coach to prevent herself from losing her voice. I'd say the same thing. I know the voice changes over time but in Aurora's case it does sound to me like she has overworked her voice to a dangerous extent (even using autotune in some of her songs, like in The River).
