    Mmm. Something worth mentioning is that DS2 is loaded with interactables around every area. From light fixtures with a torch, hidden walls that take pressing the interact button like you're trying to talk to them, things you can knock down, wooden doors and chests you can destroy, rocks you can knock off to pull things up, walls that blow up, and more. NPCs are also way smarter in DS2 than the other games.

      @Nick_308 14 дней назад +3

      You didn’t ask but a funny story about my first playthrough when this game came out. I was so sure that they made chests destructible as a countermeasure to the traps that were fairly common that I literally broke every wood chest I came across for like the first half of the game and never realized that I was getting rubbish every single time. I was so hurt when I realized my blunder.

    • @Knight_Of_Eleum_Loyce
      @Knight_Of_Eleum_Loyce 10 дней назад +1

      @@Nick_308 I'm sorry to do this to you but dude...how? It takes 3 or 4 hits to destroy a wooden chest in DS2 (metal ones cant be destroyed of course), and it takes only one hit to trigger a mimic. So why would you swing so many times? That pains me immensely.

    Enjoying the VODs immensely. Is there any chance of a chapter marked where you transition into getting after gameplay? Some people enjoy the chatting that goes on "pregame" (checking for motion blurr, saying hi to the chat, intros to what the game plan is) but sometimes one just wants to get right to the exploring and dying. Please don't misunderstand, you have a lovely voice that I could listen reading a phone book, and the majula theme is the best part of ds2. If you want to stick with two-handed melee, then the important stats are VGR, END, VIT and ADP. Update these 4 stats to their soft/hard cap. Keep STR and DEX to minimum according to weapons you want to use until the previous 4 reaching soft/hard cap, then you can update these 2 for bonus damage. But don't worry, you can reset stats if you make mistakes when you bring certain item to the old women.

    Good job so far. I feel like you've been moderately trolled by chat telling you to level up ADP this early. I've rarely ever put points into it during my 4 or 5 play throughs. Vigor and whatever your main skill for weapon use is will have a better early to mid-game return on investment. Hit harder, have more health.
    My suggestions:
    - ADP is more than enough now for the rest of the game. Don't put any more points into that stat.
    - Start using your torch more and light all the braziers you see. The game often has secret rewards or events that unlock when you light all the braziers in an area. You'll eventually come to one area that's extremely dark that has an awesome reward if you can find and light all of them. That and the game just looks a whole lot better when they're lit and glowing.
    - If you're going with strength build, you're not too far away from finding the claymore. IMO one of the best str weapons in the game. Switch to that and don't look back. You'll need 20 str and 13 dex to use it with 1 hand. Raw infusion for even more damage.
    - Use a shield. The large leather shield you picked up is pretty great in terms of weight to blocking ability. I used that quite a bit.
    - Powerstancing 2 weapons is awesome. If you're not familiar with it, check out a video or two explaining how it works, what the stat requirements are, etc. You can do some big damage with the right powerstance setup.

  • @Sandlund93
    @Sandlund93 26 дней назад +1

    Pursuer is no joke, at least not if you go there early. And beyond him is arguably the biggest skill check in the main game. I obviously wiped there needlessly for hours, before I realized what CoC does. That's a Souls experience, all right. But you seem to have found another road.
    The main thing about ADP is that it increases Agility, you can totally beat the game without investing in it. I can think of a few bosses where you might wanna have 96 or even 99 Agility, but it's really not necessary until the 2nd and 3rd DLC. We're talking 3 bosses in total, not all 6.
    The way I usually level up in Soulslike is Vigor to 50 and then strength or dex, depending on the weapon scaling. Which sometimes means getting them both up. As long as you upgrade your weapon, you will be fine. I would say that stamina and equipment load are endgame and NG+ luxuries. Same with ADP. I must say, I have never seen anyone upgrade armor before. That seems like a high NG+ priority. On endgame pieces. I wrote this because chat is making you waste points. Which makes the game harder than it needs to be.
    At some point, you're gonna want to get Ring of Binding, which is gonna take like 5 minutes from one of your Bonfires. Or 30 seconds, if you yolo it instead of fighting.

I noticed you uploaded at 4K resolution since RUclips allows me to select resolutions all the way up to 4K. I'm guessing you were streaming at 4K which requires a lot of bandwidth. It makes sense to me that if the bandwidth of the internet connection wasn't high enough for 4K, you would get terrible video quality. This video looks much better, so I'm guessing you are forcing 1080p that is more appropriate for the bandwidth of your internet connection.

For some reason it's bugged, and when it's not engaging correctly it means that all attacks that are bound to clicks will have a weird delay to them... To the comment regarding “ds2 feels different” especially from someone who’s never played it before, that is an interesting observation.
    Ds2 does feel very different from the rest of the franchise. Different team made it so yeah but atmosphere wise as well. Drangleic feels very “ruined” and “abandoned.” It feels like exploring the remains of a kingdom from long ago. It feels very self contained compared to the rest of the trilogy.
    There’s also no fire to link. The story revolves entirely around saving yourself from the curse. It gives the story a more personal bent than becoming the Elden lord or linking the fire. There is no grand design. Just you, the curse, and Drangleic.

    About adp: You dont need to Up so much on it. After you reach 100 agility the game flows very well. Honestly, 90% of the game's combat is based on spacing, just use the space between you and the enemies in a smart away and you'll barely roll in the game. Adp is overrated and overhated haha. I almos never up ADP anymore, is the last stat I put points on it, you can just dodge the majority of the game's attacks by runing to the right.

    Miss Chalice, boss running is a *very* bad habit for this game. The game was designed to punish running to the boss and avoiding the level. It wants you to engage with the levels.
    DS2 doubled down on the slow methodical nature of Souls games. I kind of wish no one told you to pump points into ADP. Its allowing you to ingrain bad habits you'll pay for later at higher levels.
    Boss running especially when you haven't completed exploring an area means you will miss things. Not just items and npcs but also some unique behaviors of enemies. And a unique mechanic that can make getting to the boss easier. A different mechanic change is probably going to catch you sooner or later on these runs. Ngl I was hoping it'd catch you while running to the Dragon Rider.
    That said The Pursuer is like The Crucible Knight. It's goal is to teach you to parry and help you git gud. Although he can teach two other lessons depending on how you play. So good luck on The Pursuer.
    Also your cat really does look like Shalquoir lol

    Such a shame that apparently every new DS2 player nowadays has to endure that ADP nonsense. ADP is like any other stat in DS2 - it is part of YOUR BUILD. Imagine she is absolutely fine with the basic dodge and Estus drink speed. She could invest all those levels in other stats - to withstand more hits, to have more stamina to actually do stuff, equip heavier weapons and armor, have the stats to be able to wield a wider range of weapons/stronger weapons. So that she actually can build her character the way she wants, which is a big part of the fun playing RPGs IMO. By forcing players to invest in ADP, you are denying them this fun, the freedom to make your own choices about your build.
    As always, you have to learn the attack patterns and how to avoid them, no amount of ADP or Agility will help you with that.

    Chalice. Chat is trolling you hard. ADP IS THE WORST STAT TO LEVEL WHEN YOU START. It gives you very tiny frames improvements per point dodging and it will cripple you early on.
    Push Vigor!!! for survivability at beginning , End for more attacks and second the weapon stat of the weapon you wanna use dex or str. I played DS2 around 20 times never touched ADP.
    ADP was advertised as a joke in some online guides so it became a running gag.
    Don't be fooled. Also use effigy to get hit points to full again.
    ADP helps you ZERO with combat or staying alive at the beginning.

    • @ShowerSkeleton
      @ShowerSkeleton 23 дня назад

      While I agree getting more health and stamina is always going to be helpful, leveling ADP early on is absolutely helpful in combat. ADP is the attribute that most quickly levels the Agility stat, which on top of increasing the number of dodge-roll i-frames (even just a few more i-frames can be a huge lifesaver), it also speeds up using items (including flask), switching equipment, and guarding. The animation speed of those actions starts quite a bit slower than in DS1 or Elden Ring, so at least in my opinion, DS2 starts to feel a lot better and more survivable when your character's Agility gets to around 100.

    • @TheCheshireTree
      @TheCheshireTree 23 дня назад +1

      @@ShowerSkeletonNope it's proven to get ANY notable frames dodging your ADP needs to be 92+ which is a huge waste of stat points. Check comparison videos.
      ADP is a joke for noobs to be fooled.
      Starting the game and dumping ADP points is a huge waste.
