The "Ride me sideways" line was completely improvised. That's why Dermot Morgan corpsed at that line 😂
What's funny is if you listen carefully, you an hear Ms Doyle say 'I messed that one up' as Ted pushed her through the door, and they left it in :D
When?
28:48 ish lol ...."no Ted, it's my money... I just didn't want to fill out the forms" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Father Ted is written by two Irish comedy writers also Father Ted died shortly after making the last episode. Enjoy your response. Massive over here yrs ago. Much luv Pete Swindon England
Fr Ted ... "He's dying" - The nun - "is it serious?" .... OMG you guys missed that lol
I’ve been watching Father Ted since the 90’s but watching you folks react to it brings a whole new level of humour to it. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for the compliment in saying Ireland looks very pretty
If you look at 13:34, you can see both Pauline McLynn and Dermot Morgan breaking character for a second at Mrs Doyle's rant. I love that they left it in.
She completely ad-libbled that quote and it's memorable to this day 😂
Watching the Fr Ted Christmas Special is a tradition in Ireland
Growing up in the 60s and 70s as a Catholic, I certainly remember there were always three priests in the church: the one who did all the work; the almost retired one who scared the shit out of me; and the young one who was learning the ropes. So Father Ted is pretty accurate in that respect.
no Ms Doyle? ....but do you want some tea?
@@zepo82ah no thank you missus Doyle
We would stay in a parish house when visiting relatives - the decoration was exactly the same as here, it was always slightly damp, and each bed had an electric blanket. The housekeeper was called Mrs Meaney, and she cooked a fantastic breakfast.
The way Queen Boomer looks at King Boomer when he's chatting....so adorable 😍😍😍😍
c .... it's a two-way street ....
Love, isn't it 💯👊🏼
Sorry, dropped my guard there 🤭
Now ... where was that screaming Prom Queen running off to 🔪 🤔

19:00 Alot of Older irish hate Father Ted, *The Life of Brian* was striaight out banned in Ireland for decades
I'm really enjoying seeing your reactions to this program. There's no doubt that Father Ted was one of my favourite all time shows and seeing that same enjoyment from other people brings a smile to my face. Brilliant show. And as it's coming up to Christmas, there's a stand alone episode of the show called 'A Christmassy Ted' which is very good as well. It's a bit longer than normal episodes too and full of silly moments you'll hurt yourself laughing at.
God bless Father Ted (Dermot Morgan) passed away 28 February 1998 (aged 45) from a Heart Attack. RIP xxx
I worked in a theological college in the UK with people training for the priesthood. There were many Father Ted fans among them as it was a question I did ask
In what possible conceivable sentence would you ever say "Get your bollox out of my face?" 🤣
Mrs Doyle should know all about teabagging.
I'm straight and if anyone tried teabag me I'd say it
The "F word" you hear generally in Ireland is not THE 'F' word. It's 'feck'... and it's a lightened and more 'acceptable' an expletive in polite society. It's not considered anything like the actual 'F' word. You'll even hear prim little old ladies saying it. It's not the same by any means.
Or fup
I've lived in Ireland for 20 years and everyone says "fuck" children, cops, little old ladies. I've never heard feck
@@trotskyite1 I’ve been to Ireland for a week and I heard it plenty.
@@trotskyite1 Then you live in a very strange area. The vast majority of people say it.
@@bobwhite894 yea, the picnic scene.
I love the episode in the caravan with the cows in the distance and Ted asking Dougal : "Small or far away?"
Feckin' hilarious,,,💀
Taking Fr Jack for a walk on automatic is my favorite joke in the whole show.
I think second to the cows joke
So happy you guys are doing Father Ted. I subscribed for the Inbetweeners and am staying for the Father Ted reactions
Me too. I subscribed for the Inbetweeners and am staying for the Father Ted reactions and I'm leaving as soon as I the Telly Tubbies.
Mee too, but I am staying permanently because the Boomers are cute together and funny
Gonna be straight with you, if you love dougal, the actor plays another comedy called My Hero where he plays this oblivious, clueless super hero from another planet. Basically dougal with superpowers. Definitely worth a look.
Feck is our way of saving a hail mary after confession 🤣🇮🇪
King and Queen Boomer! 😊 I look forward to these Father Ted reactions just as much as I did for The Inbetweeners. Be glad as the best episodes are yet to come!
By the way, I understand if you would prefer to watch them in order but if you want to watch the Christmas special this month it’s the last episode of the 2nd season ‘A Christmassy Ted’. It’s twice the length of a standard episode. Keep up the good work and thanks for all the hours of entertainment 🎉
Agreed 👊💯
The man playing father jack also recorded a version of the 12 days of Christmas . Well worth a listen.
Great reaction as always! I met Frank Kelly in the early 90's, an absolute gentleman and nothing like Fr. Jack!
Ted said “Feck”. An Irish way swearword instead of saying the other 4 letter f word.
I think I'm on a mission to spam our wonderful American reactors with the proposition of watching the TV show, Green Wing. It is one of the funniest and surreal shows I've ever seen, and as KB seems to gravitate to odd ball individuals, I think he will fall in love with... well, most of the cast of Green wing, but one or two spring to mind in particular. Even if KB watches a couple of edits of Alan Statham or Sue White before diving in; I don't think he could resist!
Kicking Bishop Brennen Up The Arse is by far one of the funniest episodes of Father Ted.
It's great but Speed 3 is my favorite. I love them all though
The Chinese restaurant Nazi episode is pretty damn good too
Way back in the 90s my introduction to Father Ted was to see what my mum was laughing so non-stop hysterically at. I'd never heard her laugh like that in my life. It was that very episode, and me and my parents became instant lifelong fans.
@@Your_Man_Craig_Walker Absolutely hilarious episode!
@@lordsoros627 That is a fantastic episode. Hilarious
One foot in the grave is legendary especially if you love rants and goofiness.
One Foot in the Grave is the funniest thing to come out of Britain.
Boomer needs to watch at least one episode of 'One Foot in the Grave' before seeing the Father Ted episode called 'Mainland' otherwise the theme of that show might lost.
At last!! You've finally watched through the end credits of an episode!!
And so, Mrs Doyle truly arrives as a character. I think this episode hit new heights and set a new standard for the show. I've only seen King and Queen Boomer predict things a couple of times and the Queen won both times.
I can’t recall if it was this video or a previous one…. You commented on the scenery. All the outdoor shots are in County Clare, West of Ireland. The very open area, mostly granite stone, is The Burren. A unique and protected area. It really is beautiful.
I’m lucky enough to live in East Clare and about 40 minutes drive from the Burren, which is where the house is too.
All indoor shots of the house are filmed in a London studio.
Love your reactions.
One of the nuns I know (who funnily enough is Irish) told me she loves Father Ted and that she watched it with a preist..she's a legend 😂😂😂
It's great that Queen Boomer likes Father Ted so much, that she's asking when she's seeing more.😊
One of my favourites is the one with pat mustard the milkman, I think it's called "speed"...as in the Hollywood movie
That is an amazing episode! It's called "Speed 3" and totally based on the Hollywood blockbuster "Speed" 😂
@@lucyprevo aye that's the one 👌 thanks
@@1nikg No worries!
Hi, Im a Priest in the UK, I love Father Ted, its great fun!
I love Father Ted but 'Black Books' and 'Spaced' came out around the same time and are well worth a series reaction.
The Little Book of Calm.
Black Books, Spaced and The IT Crowd = All rubbish.
@Jimmy Hopkins your periodic dental check up is due
Boomer's face when Jack comes in saying ''NUNS! NUNS!'' LMAO.
Pauline McLynn (Mrs Doyle) also played a character called Esmeralda in an episode of the Welsh comedy High Hopes :)
Hi K & QB, Love your Father Ted reactions and Brian's 'You sick little snail' had me rofl keep 'em coming Cheers Jim X
I stumbled across your chanel a few days ago after searching for Father Ted's "racist" episode....Im so happy I did. You guy's reaction to the humour is as funny as the show, the Queens giggle is super cute and your hearty hysterical laugh makes me laugh harder than the show. I kept rewinding the hamster on a bike reaction....absolute gold. Ive been binge watching all your videos. A lot of other countries don't get our humour and it's great to see you enjoying it so much. Im from Scotland but a recent DNA test showed that Im 87% Irish, I'm so proud of that. Keep up the good work and if you guys ever come to Glasgow, I'll show you around, and take you Whiskey tasting. x P.S, look up Irish people being funny on You Tube and look for the guy threatining the bus driver, telling him "how would you like me to shove your head up your arse"....super funny. Love from a Celt.
My very elderly great aunt was a nun in Dublin from the age of 15 until she died at the age of 92, and she loved this programme
Brilliant work, as usual guys.
Just a little thing. The priest from the last one was supposed to be Cuban, not Spanish. Btw; the actor wasn't from any Spanish speaking country; believe me.
Can't wait for more!
Big love from Spain.
PS. Sorry about... You know... Don't worry though... We're coming home on Tuesday... Around 6PM CET.
Been _years_ since I saw this for the first time - "Nuns! Nuns! Reverse! Reverse!" still creases me up. 😂
FECK 😂 There’s even a whiskey over here in Ireland called “feckin whiskey!”
Give us a feckin whiskey 🥃
It's Ironic that the colour Blue has a calming effect on Father Jack and yet the walls in the spare room are Blue!
Wait until the next episode, "Grant Upon Him Eternal Rest". In my top 3 episodes, the seminary scene up there with the funniest scenes
Our parish priest was famous for his 20 minute masses - he was over 80 when he retired, but the church was always full as he knew very well that the last thing anyone wanted to do was to sit through a boring mass and sermon, and at least everyone got to show their faces. He just wanted to get back to his house to watch football and drink whiskey. His replacement was the complete opposite, and everyone stopped going. The church was demolished soon afterwards.
Anyone else notice that the organ music in the background of the church scene is the FT theme tune.
I saw Ardal O'Hanlon (Dougal) this year talking about his latest book at my hometown's literature festival. He's just as funny in real life as he is in the show!
He says "Feck" not the F word, it's an Irish curse that's more socially accepted than Fuck 😂
@@billybollockhead5628 No, we don't...
I really enjoyed watching this with you thanx!!!
Should watch ‘Small,Far away: The World of Father Ted, where the writers revisit location in County Clare where the Craggy Island Parochial House is. It’s a great interesting watch,I’ve been to the house myself and I’d recommend an hour spent here is highly worth it.the housekeeper in the doc puts on a lovely spread of homemade cakes and tea and tells a few stories of when the show was filmed there. We also visited Vaughans pub that was in the ‘Chinese’ episode, the barman in that episode still worked there amazingly . Unfortunately we couldn’t find the magic road 😂 ,a beautiful part of the country and well worth the visit .
Give “Phoenix Nights” Peter Kay A Watch. “Auditions……Next”. You Won’t Be Disappointed.✌🏻😬
OMG! Yesss!
Brilliant! So enjoyed watching you 2, loved the Queen ending the video! 😁
Love that you are covering this delightful comedy King and Queen B. My understanding is that the Clergy look upon this show very favourably
I think that is true - not religious myself but any priest/vicar (even the older ones) generally have a good sense of humour about this kind of stuff.
I really like you guys & your reactions 😁so cute, keep watching as this show gets better, I'm watching it still after all these years
Heh, Ms. Doyle's rant reminds me so much of something Christopher Hitchens cited in one of his talks, about a group of upper class, "proper" ladies attending the celebration of Dr. Samuel Johnson having published the very first dictionary:
(ladies): "Dr. Johnson, we are delighted to find that you have not included any indecent or obscene words in your dictionary."
Johnson: "Ladies, I congratulate you on being able to look them up." 😜
Do you know the lady who plays Mrs Doyle, was only in her early 20s when she played the part. Now have a cup of tea go on go on go on
I can't watch any of these without laughing!
My priest father tom love's it
Oh what a very pleasant surprise drop. Can watch this between the matches
Didn't expect King Boomer to know and give a shout out to Embrace the Suck. Small world
My mums Irish🇮🇪 she came over to England when she was 17 back in the 70s, and she use to say feck all the time 😂😂
If you want to hear the Irish ‘F’ word more, try a fun little musical reaction… ‘Cheap Flights’ by Fascinating Aida (a female trio).
There was a game show in the 90's and a team of clergy won it and their busman's holiday was as extras in Father Ted
Father Ted just gets better and better.
Do try Also 'Yes Minister' and Yes Prime Minister. Both series are very funny.
Fr. Ted wasn't shown on Irish TV back in the 90s, when it first came out, it was considered to taboo, but Channel 4, a UK TV channel showed it and we all got to see it that way, Ireland was a very uber Conservative country up until recently, the Catholic Church was sacrosanct and you darned make fun or step out of line they controlled pretty much everything in Ireland back in the day, education, hospitals, etc, if they didn't like it they could put massive pressure on people to boycott things, contraceptive for example was illegal in Ireland up until the 90s, didn't matter if you weren't Catholic you couldn't have it. Hence the Irish love to drink to drowned there sorrows, we were a very repressed people up until recently.
In Belfast you could get a RTE aerial. Did you have BBC aerial in the South?
@@lenyard yea we got everything in the UK, and Ulster television.
@@lenyardvery tall TV aerials on top of each house was a feature of the Dublin skyline in the 1970s and 80s, especially the houses along the coast - this was so they could catch the signals from Wales and/or the North. RTÉ was full of church propaganda and Eoin McLove types
Thought I had seen this show, but had only watched a few episodes.
You got me watching the whole lot halfway though season 3 now.
It's brilliant surreal at times close to one of my absolute favorite shows called The Goodies.
Great reactions looking forward to more.
Love ur reactions,both of u have a fantastic chemistry,plz keep going.x
In only found out when I went to live in Ireland for a few years that F*ck is considered a milder swear word there than the word pronounced with a stronger 'u'. Both are used.
My family are all Catholic and we all love the show. My brother is a priest and he's found himself in at least three Father Ted scenarios: staying with monosyllabic priests, having a Kenyan tour guide explain to him that the giraffes aren't small, but are far away, and the third...well, that took place in a department store...
This show just gets better & better & season 2 & 3 are superb..shocking news about Father Jack / very small, far away /burpy sheep / hairy babies /all priests over 75 5 a side football / Bishop Brennans arse....Enjoy!
They are some classic Irish curse words and slang from the times. Fr Ted was one of the best shows ever on tv over here.
*cough* on anywhere! and I'm English :D
Take a look at Men behaving badly , Bottom , porridge , Game on , or if you want a movie , The life of Brian is an absolute must !!
Seconded on Game on! a decent often forgotten show :D
The catholic church tried to have it banned.
A decent episode but you've got the final series 1 episode which is great and series 2 is very funny, looking forward to your reactions!
Please continue father ted!
It's a complement to be told you sometimes act like Jack 🤣
A good friend from Ireland told me that when Father Ted was first broadcast, people in Ireland thought it was a documentary.
Every year, the Catholic Church used to publish a list of books that Catholics were banned from reading. If you wanted a good book to read, it was the go to list of books for Irish people to buy.
I remember reading years ago that the priests on one of the Scottish isles loved it... Am assuming that applies to many more than just the ones on that isle...
One you could take a look at is Vicar Of Dibley it’s one of my favourites. Love your videos!
I love your nail colour Queen Boomer 👌 I have a similar colour myself by Barry M
I can't believe you guys are watching father Ted! 😂🇮🇪
You should watch each episode to the very end, because there's usually a last-second stinger.
This was an utterly prescient show at a time (mid 1990s)when an ultra religious Ireland was finally questioning its loyalty to Catholicism. For Irish people it was the first laugh they allowed themselves in 70 years. This can’t be underestimated.
Get your bollox out of my face lol
Too fecking right. Lol
The man who played Father Crilly (main character) died when he was only 50yrs old. They were half way through another series when he died. Very sad 😔
