This album came out when I was at the lowest point in my life, in a violent fall into insanity, drugs, and rage. The whole album was my anthem, MM is my anthem.

Although all Rock started w/ blues, I think this is one of those songs when you hear it's influence best. As a matter of fact, you hear some serious blues throughout this whole album.
He said that this album was like the presentation of his discovery of the blues previous to it of course.

I am surprised how good this album really is i was expecting the worse ....Its changed a little from the last albums with more heavy rock feel little less glam than before ..But the vocals and flow is very much like a Bowie album mix with queen stone age

Only track from the pale emperor I don't like, sounds too much like I have to look up just to see hell and the vocals annoy me. But the album is awesome!
this new album isn't really doing it for me, but hey I will still live just fine. I sort of started souring once he started getting rid of good musicians in the band and went with all these new no names. I don't care where they came from, they add nothing to the overall MM sound like the others did.

In a interview he said for a long time he did not know the Rock he loves came from the Blues and that he like the Blues so he was going to take it back home where it all started (paying homage to it) plus he & Twiggy wanted to make an album like this for a long time
