So a PRO tip for your bins. Put a layer of River rock down to create a layer to keep the wheels out of the acetone. The plastic will break down and become damaged over time. Its only the vapors thats doing the work. I use coffee tins with LAVA rock on the bottom due to the pores it airs out better. Just a tip. Gloves are KEY TOO. Cheers form the States!!

I used to use sandpaper to clean up the rest of the glue. 1000 grit wet sanding with a light touch. Great video.

Good to know you don’t have to sink them. I always used a gallon paint can almost full and made sure they were completely covered. Been doing it for years. Great video!!

I’m fully new to rc racing.. I’m running a nitro truggy and I was blown away that the hobby shop guy said we all just throw our wheels away. When here in Canada there 45 bucks a set.. thanks for this tip I’m going to buy another set of wheels today and rotate them 👍🏻👍🏻

I never throw ANYTHING away.! 😉
I've got bags & boxes full of tyres, rims & other bits & bobs.!
Btw.. DON'T FORGET ABOUT TYRES IN ACETONE.!!
I once left 4 wheels/tyres in a box with acetone for about 5 days before I remembered... When I opened it up there were 4 tyres sitting above a pool of white putty like sludge... 😂 😂 😂
It was weird stuff, it would set as hard as the original plastic once the acetone evaporated away.!
I wonder if it would be any good for making plastic repairs.?
I always put my wheels on top of something metal to keep them out of the acetone, it lets the fumes get in everywhere & protects the rims.
I'm using the metal rings from the inside of a set of crawler beadlock wheels atm.

    Tried this a while ago.
Hung them in a breakfast series container as its the vapours that do the work.
The acetone In the bottom reacted with the plastic. Melted the base, and because I'd left it on a window sill, destroyed the paint underneath.
    Not done it since..

I’ll save my wheels this way but not the insert. Tires come with them

You should use some gloves when working with acetone. Even the smallest cut will sting bad.
