NOT MY CUP OF TEA PERSONALLY BUT I LOVE OLDES!!! MY FAVORITE KENNEL IS EVOLUTION KENNELS FOR LOOKS AND ATHLETICISM I THINK IT BRINGS BACK THE ORIGINAL OLDE TO ALMOST PERFECT! SEE IF YOU CAN GET THEM ON THE SHOW!!! AMAZING OLDES OVER THERE!!!!
I've had a Leavitt Olde English Bulldog for seven and a half years. Bought him as a little pup. He's about 70 pounds, brindle, and beautiful. Awesome looking. Like a linebacker. Big head. Powerful, yet still athletic physique.
this comes as close to the "old country" bulldog depicted in arts and paintings. but even that version, could've been the "fancier" version of the dog that actually did bait bulls and bears at even earlier time. what do those dogs really look like? who knows? but I would suspect that in order to catch bulls and bears, these dogs would be a lot more taller, athletic, and agile than even the "olde english bulldgge" that people are trying to romantically recreate. honestly if we had a time machine to back, i am gonna say that they would probably look very similar to dogo argetino.
Enjoyed the podcast and you have some very nice dogs . Although health test wise I think you have same mix of breeds in your line as I do so you need to test all the main genetic diseases for all those breeds , not just bulldog I have oldie bulldogs I check my pups for CMR1 , DM , HUU , Ice(AB) , JHC, HGA, NCL10. When I started testing I had to eliminate some of my best (looking dogs) out of my program. others that carried HUU and DM were used to clear bitches/studs . I am years in now and my last litter was completely clear on all the tests , the litter before I had one DM carrier . My best bitch so I searched for ages and found a clear stud , she produced a totally clear litter on every test. At 12 months I will hip score and elbow test the pups I keep, so I ensure I have the healthiest disease free dog possible. Saying the rules don't apply if you have breeding for years is not a get out of jail card IMO, Its a cover up . Anyone who has a big kennel and won't test there dogs are either scared to test for diseases or already know there dogs are riddled with the above diseases and just pretend they don't agree with testing. DONT BE SCARED TEST THESE DOGS AND PRODUCE THE BEST YOU CAN, what's the worst that can happen your dog gets put out of the program or has to be bred to clear bitches . So what start with the best healthiest specimen .
i love these dogs as much as the next guy. but... if a breed can't procreate naturally on their own . as healthy animals should be able to do, without medical intervention. there's something fundamentally concerning in that.
I like what Im hearing if the temperament he days her breeds for. But the dogs in the pictures are abit exaggerated for my taste. Although hopefully before the video is over with her will address whether or not they have a protective instinct. When I get me a dog Is want it to be reasonably protective when its needed. But not something thats dangerous.
I hate to tell you, but the bulldogs of the bull-baiting era looked nothing like what you're producing. In fact, English Bulldogs didn't look like your dogs till like the 1930s. That's not to say your dogs aren't awesome looking, and that your work isn't valuable, since you are producing healthier dogs that look just about like AKC English Bulldogs. That's something that definitely needs to be done.
Of course you don't throw raw meat at your dog. It's raw meat, bone, and organs. Dogs require zero grain products, since wolves never eat grains, and dogs are zoologically wolves.
Dogs are able to digest carbohydrates more so than wolves. Domestication of dogs over thousands of years changed their digestive process, as they began to eat a bit more like agrarian humans. It's a myth that dogs are basically just"tame wolves."
Love the passion for your work, beautiful dogs
This was great material. thanks
Glad you enjoyed it!

Great podcast, does anybody here know of any breeders in Australia? I can’t find much on the breed here and if so not what I’m looking for. Thanks
He has some nice dogs another out of the park podcast

I live in netherlands can you tel me where a good old buldog breeder ?
Would you have Chris Moore on?
For sure!
Ask him why it’s know videos of his dogs we would like some on his Pg and IG
There'd a difference between breeding and conserving a breed. Merle is not part of the original olde standard.
i love these dogs as much as the next guy.

I'm pretty sure he knows that. That's why he keeps saying "what we want". The OEB from that era were ugly. Let's be honest.

Yea but they take grain out and add in things like peas and lentils that cause other problems
@@peopleschampiii584 Yep, so just feed actual raw meat, bone, and organ. That's what I do.
@therealhawkeyeii7888 yea sure but thats not feasible for everyone. Im sure you dont have 20 or more dogs
