I love how in the end of the song, Gabe has taken over the lead melody, forcing Natalie to sing harmonies to her own song, Natalie is just belting so loud, trying to almost drown out Gabe's voice. He's also managed to wedge himself in between her and Henry, and Natalie is just backing away, creating distance between herself and him. After this moment Natalie starts moving away from Henry (he later asks her why she's avoiding him) and using her mother's drugs. The staging in this is just incredible. Yeah. That's all I wanted to say. Whoops.
I like how Diana tells her she's her perfect PLAN (not perfect child) like it was Natalie's job to replace Gabe. I often wonder if Diana is mourning the dreams she had for her son more than her actual son.
it bothers me that aaron only gets credit for this song, i love aaron, but he only has a tiny part. same with Alice. Jennifer is so talented she needs more recognition.
Ironic isn't it that a song about how Natalie is overshadowed by her brother constantly gets overshadowed by Aaron tveit even though he's only in it for 30 seconds
She does not sound very good in this specific recording. I do agree that she has an amazing talent. Her notes were far too sharp/shrill or slightly off at parts in this one. In the official original cast recording she sounds fantastic though!
I think he's a ghost hauting his family. Diana (mother) can always see him and that's why she believes he's real. Dan (father) and Natalie (sister) can't see him or they're just ignoring him
Marianna Przybylowska It could be that but Gabe also appears to each character as how they see him. for Diane he's kind. For Dan he is aggressive and for Natalie he is taunting. It's really nice symbolism honestly
I’ve studied this video and other videos of this same show but a different day and this one is my favorite for Natalie. There’s something about her movements and acting that speaks volumes more than Jennifer’s other performances in the other videos. She comes across as being really done with her mother’s treatment of her vs Gabe in some sort of… idk more in your face kinda way? Like when Diana comes up, Natalie is more upfront and in her faces vs other videos where she seems more pleading with her mother and her movements are smaller. Just an observation on my end. Lol
Dan's conversation at the end is so heartbreaking. He was in those chatrooms for himself. He was talking to his coworkers to try and find some help, but he probably decided Diana needed it more. He just can't let her know how much help he needs.
Did the person who recorded this film the whole show? I think they did a really good job of this scene, and I'd be happy if the full show was out there someday for me to find.
haha okay this sounds insane but if you mute this when she starts singing and play you don't know it actually matches up pretty good (i wasn't trying to be weird...just something that happened when i had two youtube videos playing at the same time...)
@EntertainmentAddams I think this makes it very authentic... maybe she does not get it right, but there are a lot of emotions in her voice, that shows so much how she's hurting. How much she wants to get noticed. you don't need a clear voice to transfer emotions
Becca Swann After going through and watching this video over a million thousand times, I think I finally realize that. Her gestures are meant to portray her feelings in such a way that it is really understood by the viewers. I made this comment so long ago, and I apologize if it seemed almost insulting. Now, I love all of the performance and appreciate it and respect all of it very highly.
+Smithy Drevis I didn't think it sounded insulting. some people just don't understand stage performance. some people are so far away, they need to see big movements. :) I used to do theatre. I miss it.
I don't like the tempo they took this at. They actors had to struggle to spit out the words. The staging is kinda awkward, too. The song and show and the talent is incredible though, undeniably.

Steven Kyle no it is Natalie
I had never even notices that, oh my gosh that's incredibly smart music composing.
niceee!!!
I love how Aaron's just sort of hanging around "Waaaiiiiiittttiiiiinnnnggg....."
I like how Diana tells her she's her perfect PLAN (not perfect child) like it was Natalie's job to replace Gabe. I often wonder if Diana is mourning the dreams she had for her son more than her actual son.
Well done for blatantly stating the plot.
Chris Goddard well done for being an asshole

Thank you! Like, yes, we understand Aaron is sexy and all, but this is Jen's song and she rocks it!!!😀

Defias Remix were not talking about this recording. we’re talking about the official recording
That's the point of the song 😉
the smug look on aaron's face at 1:37 to 1:39 kills me every time
This song just proves that brothers, dead or alive, or feeling alive X3, like to annoy their sisters.
I have a question is Aaron Tveit's character dead or alive?
Aaron Tveit's character is dead. His, and Natalie's, mother simply believes that he's still alive.
I think he's a ghost hauting his family. Diana (mother) can always see him and that's why she believes he's real. Dan (father) and Natalie (sister) can't see him or they're just ignoring him

Smithy Drevis I love this
Aaron's facial expressions are priceless
I love when she says he's not here, he appears! Lol I love Aaron Tveit!!!
I love the way Aaron moves!!
This was recorded on my 8th birthday lol, sigh, if only I'd been older and saw this amazing show! Love Alice, Jen, and Aaron❤️
Three women at work know I'm nuts? Love that line.
I can't make up my mind over who's hotter here, if Jennifer or Aaron lol
La Esmeralda All of the above
the emotion in her voice is amazing...
She was 17/18 yo when she did N2N right ?? It's amazing !!

Thank you for posting this. I hope nobody makes you take it down, because it makes me even more excited to see the show! (I already bought tickets).
Love the duet with Gabe and Natalie.
"I wish I could fy..." that's how it sounded on the first verse.
@futuresuperstar4life a pipe made out of an apple XD he's the "macgyver of pot", as natalie calls him a few lines earlier

AARON TVEIT!
Her voice is kinda pitchy and her gestures are a bit overdone.... BUT I DUN GIVE A CRAP I LUV IT XDDDDDDD
+Smithy Drevis As far as her gestures, they're supposed to be exaggerated. It's part of being on stage.

what the hell is in henry's hand at the begining??
@futuresuperstar4life You turn the apple into a pipe and smoke weed through it. xD
she sounds a little bit off in this video. maybe she was sick? i mean, she still gets the emotions perfectly, but her higher belt is kinda...eh.
did she mess up the words? haha
@homeschoolveggie He is. Haha.

The righteous motion thermodynamically whistle because kamikaze booly rain aside a sudden pancreas. gamy, jittery creek
That was the ugliest thing I have ever heard. I love this song bu that was so friggen ugly sounding on her part.
