      if i recall Carter bought the house for Lois but Peter still had to "buy" it back by making monthly payments or something like that. this is how they originally got the house i believe.
      when they sold and rebought it i think they actually do own it now but i might be mixing up the timeline (not that they really follow it anyway).
      i'm certain most of the money is from Carter or Babs funneled through Lois, they are insanely rich that they could easily afford most of Peters nonsense.

    • @Icalasari
      @Icalasari 10 months ago +1

      @rocksfire4390 Plus, Carter hates Peter so much he's probably banking on ONE of these offing Peter. Heck, the boat one alone almost worked

  • @ajerjavec4723

    Personally, I think it’s funnier if you basically state that their house is being paid for by Lois‘s parents which one episode did hint that also I think it stated that Peter regularly robs banks to pay for his shit considering this guy casually destroys the town in fighting a giant chickenis it really that surprising

    • @ajerjavec4723
      @ajerjavec4723 11 months ago +11

      @ yeah and three other episodes said that they purchased the house in someway. One was because of a broken condom condom lawsuit that produced Chris a second Peter made money on an auction selling dirty photos of Abraham Lincoln a third. The price went down because this is a drug town now the point is whether or not they own the house or not probably depends on the episode

    Honestly everything about the Griffin’s finances change from episode to episode. In this video Lois said that they’re renting the house but in the episode where Peter gets taller she says that her father pays their mortgage, and in another episode he traumatizes Meg by bringing her along when he robs a bank and clearly implies this how he gets the money to pay for all of his crap.

    Lois isn't the "sole heir" to the Pewterschmidt fortune. She has a sister, Carol. And it was implied in season 3 that Carol is well-off herself when Peter asks "is she the one with the..." Just checked and he says "Jacuzzi and pool table." I guess those things aren't THAT expensive, but Lois also says "all alone in that big house." Although maybe her most recent ex-husband at that time Ted was wealthy. Idk but there's no proof Carter disowned Carol even though he says she has "weird boobs" lol

      that’s too much detail to end off on ‘boob’

    • @VampDemigod
      @VampDemigod 11 months ago +6

      Actually it goes a little further than this:
      Carter has actually had 5 kids:
      -Lois
      -Carol
      -Patrick: Though notably Patrick has spent most of his life in an insane asylum, so it's fair to assume he's not going to be getting an even cut of the will. He's also a serial killer, so a bit more fuel on that fire)
      -Tatum, a 5 year old who Carter briefly adopts in Season 21 (to be fair, he does end the episode off by having her leave the house, so between that and her probably not being an adult by the time Carter kicks the bucket, it's safe to say she's not in the running)
      -A mysterious 5th child...this one will require more explaining. In the same episode that Tatum is adopted, Carter sings about how he and his wife had 3 kids who did not live. Lois and Tatum are both in this episode, clearly alive. This implies that Carol, Patrick, and some 3rd child who isn't Lois or Tatum are dead. I'm not super up to date on how canon this line is, but it implies that in canon either there is a 5th Pewterschmidt child, or that Lois and Tatum are the only surviving heirs. Carol hasn't shown up since Season 20, and I'm not finding any threads clarifying how canon the song is with a couple minutes of searching. The wiki states, without a source, that the 5th child is canonically dead, but doesn't list Carol or Patrick as dead, so I'm at a loss.

      @rjshadow4321 11 months ago +2

      Carter in one episode took lois to at least two funerals of people that worked for him he slept with one I think he fired when she got pregnant and gave the hint there was many more.

    • @VampDemigod
      @VampDemigod 11 months ago +3

      @rjshadow4321 Fair, it's doubtful an affair child would inherit the company, but then again, the theory of Peter's credit limit being high because of his father in law isn't really dependent on how many heirs there are, since he has enough money to blow a mil on trying to get Peter to not marry Lois.

    The reason Peter can afford all this stuff is probably because of Fox (now Disney), since Family Guy plays with the idea of being a show within a show. In the episode “Farm Guy,” Peter tries to buy a farm but can’t until the farmer gets a call from Fox. Peter even says that Fox pays for everything and he can do whatever he wants.
    You see this idea again in “Inside Family Guy,” where the episode shows studio sets and even a whole area with Peter-themed vehicles and people working on them. It’s clear the show acknowledges Peter as more of a “character” on a set than just a guy in a cartoon. When he gets kicked off the show in that same episode, he ends up staying at a luxury celebrity hotel for like a week - which means he’s probably got some serious money or benefits just for being the lead.
