Just watched this right now. I edit the same way. I always watch from the beginning over and over again just to make sure the footage goes to the beat of whatever I choose. I have not started a RUclips channel yet but have been thinking about it. I'm a filmmaker and wedding videographer but I'd love to a lifestyle channel including makeup tutorials too. Do you film things in chunks or as one big ongoing long film that you then split in to parts and then edit as was done here? I just don't understand if you have to film things in separate parts or if you can just film for an hour straight for example and then proceed to divide?
musi109 oh it depends, but i usually film in small bits. the longest i'll film is 10mins straight but that's rare...usuallly when i'm talking straight to camera like in this video

I am a tech geek, so gadgets, apps, and I used to teach Hip Hop. I love dancing. And I'm a designer and writer. Lol. I gotta' get Final Cut Pro. This Adobe transition is driving me crazy. I have yet to switch to the subscription. Thanks for the tips.

how long does it take you to get a video edited? I been filming and editing now for the past 5 yrs and I even go to school for it now, but it takes me so many hours to get one video edited. I put so much time into it. It's fun but the editing takes so much time. I had a video project for school and I was so behind because i took so much longer to edit my video than everyone else. Although I did feel that my video was edited a bit more professionally than everyone else's lol, but hey
***** make videos in smaller rezolution ... like 720p ... and export it at the same ... keep audio at 128 kbps ( for youtube is enough ) ... and export AVI or Mp4 ... Also depends of your pc performance ... the rendering takes a lot of time ... try to use another software ... Adobe Affer Effects ... or Adobe Premiere ...
DeeJay AnoniM It's not the export/rendering that takes hours, it's the actual editing and creative work - sorting through all the footage and making artistic decisions.

what recording software are you using to record the pc screen?
Quick time! It's super simple. Hit "file" then "new screen recording" and hit the recording button to start and again to finish

I have been using the current version of iMovie - and was surprised and delighted to see that it shares DNA with Final Cut Pro. The workflow is very very similar. Sometimes I am frustrated by some of the limitations with iMovie - I might invest in FCP someday. Thanks!

It is really awesome how your teaching your techniques, as I had to teach myself editing. I wish I had this video a couple of years ago but I love how your sharing the wealth.
You should make a video on how one gets inspire to make a concept for a video. Like tips on branding yourself and establishin your youtube channel and your aesthetic you seem to know what you want to do and help others find their theme or main focus in what they would like to do
I love editing!! Its a tedious process, but that finished product is all worth it.
Somtimes there is a vision in mind, other times you just get it as you edit the footage. Just got the urge to edit something lol. Great work.

I loved this. It was so helpful. I use windows movie maker at the moment but I learned some things from you that I can explore on there. When I get a new computer I'm definitely upgrading my video editing software. Oh and I geek out on fabric! Lots and lots of it. I like shopping for fabric more than I do clothes. Weird? Probably.

Final Cut Pro is amazing! I use windows movie maker which has a lot fewer features but is easy to use.
