I’ve tried telling doctors that I suspect I’ve had a “perfect storm” of PPPD, long covid and menopause. So validating that maybe I am in tune? Doctors seem to stop me at PPPD. Your channel has been my greatest resource! Thank you so much!!!

Great discussion. Very forward thinking. Thank you for tackling the sometimes-controversial topic of menopause and introducing the possibility of neuroplasticity here.

Hi dr Yo . thanks so much for the info! just a quick question, CAN
MEDICAL ISSUE SUCH AS A SEVERE EPISODE OF LOW BLOOD PRESSURE
CAUSE NCD? i got chronic dizziness when i was 6 month pregnant and i had low blood pressure, i was taking iron pills and stoped them suddently for 2 weeks then BOOM dizziness plus panic attack.

Pretty much any medical event that causes dizziness can be the starting point for NCD.

This was an amazing conversation and probably something can could even go deeper. There are so many social impacts for women and collective beliefs around value and menopause as well. Some beliefs were passed down and are intergenerational trauma related. I would say the ppd came into play (had other CI issues previous) with hormonal shifts..which isn't to say the hormones are the cause but that my system/brain is highly sensitized to hormonal shifts. It can be difficult to do a specific practice on because the trigger is coming from the inside and was passed down through my mother line. I also am HSP and have had Cpstd history. New Spring yes and the impact of the sensations can be difficult (working with those parts) when I now in some ways know myself better and have so many creative projects (I didn't over achieve, i under achieved when younger) that I want to do. I do them but in very small bites.

Wow! This is so poignant and loving thank you so much for this podcast. I just found your channel 2 months ago due to a three week migraine which I now believe to be vestibular and a simultaneous three week vertigo dizzy spell- I am 49 years old and in perimenopause With thyroid conditions and extreme metabolic changes. You know the old advertisements where the woman was in her 40s or 50s and her husband is trying to be intimate with her and she has her hand on her forehead and says “not tonight, dear I have a headache.”? I believe that is how long women in this era have been suffering and obviously longer than that but we’ve made fun of them and ourselves like there’s just something wrong with us and we’re falling short. Thank you for giving a face and name untimely series of changes that so many women are facing.

I hope this is just the first of a LOT more information coming about this. Women going through perimenopause and menopause are not given the voice they deserve in conversations about chronic symptoms.

After my hysterectomy my PPPD started. I went into post menopause a few weeks later. That combined with trauma from the surgery, the outside events happening in my life such as a parent passing, this nightmare began.
I still go through the hormonal 28 day cycle, and for 7 days my symptoms go through the roof.
