    Oh I wish I could see this exhibit. As long as Covid is still happening I will not be traveling. I love Hawaiian history. Kalakaua accomplished much while he was King for such a short time. Main thing was he signed treaties with France, Britain, Japan and Germany acknowledging Hawaii as a sovereign nation. That was what he did when he went around the world as the first
    monarch to do so. His sister, Liliuokalani, when forced to give up her thrown did it in such a way that she left it open to the future when more level heads prevailed, to have the kingdom restored to the Hawaiian nation. The Hawaiian Nation included those who came from all over the world to throw their lot in with the Hawaiian people. They became Hawaiian citizens.

    I read there is a recording of his voice at the Bishop museum, that would be so interesting to hear him on the internet if it exists. interesting video guys!
