+Joey Banana True haha.. but it can't be emphasized enough and it's not like they just occasionally worked together in the past. Their Daily Show and Dana Carvey Show work together is comedy at its best
This clip makes me feel great. Two men from humble beginnings, got their starts in comedy together in the 80s, and here they are now. Oscar nominated actor being interviewed by the friggin Late Show host. Must be incredibly surreal to them
I love their smiles when they see each other. I had no idea they worked together but you could clearly see there was a true and honest pride they hold for each other's success. So sweet.
they were a writing and comedic team for about 15 years or so. probably best friends. some of their stuff is legendary, from ambigiously gay duo to even steven.
I didn't realize how funny Steve Carell was until I started to miss him on The Office. Sometimes an actor does their job so well that you dislike them, then realize that you dislike them because they're so great at what they do.
Michael Scott is the epitome of the guy who reacts in all the wrong ways for all the right reasons. At the core, he just wants to have friends and be loved. Steve fulfilled this role to such a true extent, and made me cringe so hard sometimes and you're right -- he was SO good at it!
Yep. 😂😂 I've thought about that but never really put it like that. I bet that's why they're such good friends. I don't really have anyone like that for me. These guys share similar names and facial features. I feel like they could be cousins.
i will always remember when Stephen and Jon Stewart were presenting the Emmys and Ricky Gervais won but wasn't there so they decided to give it to their Steve instead
Colbert speaks way too much in this interview. I suppose interviewing training goes out the window when you're with your mate. They're finishing each other's sentences!
Couldn't even post the homophobic comments on a video where he's actively appearing gay on purpose? Like the twitter heart video or the interview with the Big Short director. Like, amateur bigotry here, so many missed opportunities
Love this! Truly old friends who are genuinely delighted to see each other. A chance to reminisce and be proud of where their respective paths led them from humble beginnings.
I wish I could have liked this 100 times. One of the most difficult things about being famous or successful must be the fact that everybody knows you but you rarely have time to be with your closest friends. It is good to see two people, who have made me laugh when I wanted to cry so many times, get to sit down and enjoy spending time with each other. :)
Musicians could all relate to the fact that when they learn to cover a standard piece that's been orchestrated for an ensemble, they'll always recall their own part in that arrangement when hearing the melody. Even a piece that's been rearranged for a non-standard interpretation has a theme that is recognizable enough that they start humming their own instruments' part.
I absolutely love Steve Carell. He always cheers me up and is one of my favourite comedians. He really inspires me to make others laugh by just being genuine.
Steve Carell is a multifaceted actor and everything he does he puts his best and the end result is always a captivating movie. It's great to see him with the greats in The Big Short!
These guys' conversation about Anchors Aweigh on the Euphonium is the perfect representation of my high school experience, as I played euphonium and Anchors Aweigh was our fight song. I loved this.
Just watched the documentary on the Dana Carvey show the other day and came looking for these two. They've been through so much to get to the top, it's amazing.
To me they will always be the Ambiguously Gay Duo. One of the greatest things about 90's SNL (as well as Chris Farley, Mike Myers, Will Ferrell, Cheri Oteri, Norm MacDonald, etc.)
These two are literally just having a catch-up chat, it's amazing.
"literally"?
+Ryan Wow GO GET EM RYAN
+Ryan Wow Correct they literally are, thanks for pointing it out
+vmprsrl lichrally
It's so cute
Some people may not know how far back these two go which makes Steve's appearance on here so fantastic. Love those two together
+Mr. Tulip
Well, now they do. The entire interview was about it.
+Joey Banana True haha.. but it can't be emphasized enough and it's not like they just occasionally worked together in the past. Their Daily Show and Dana Carvey Show work together is comedy at its best
+Mr. Tulip "Some people may not know how far back these two go" You mean like how they said how far back they go in the first two minutes? Jeez
+Grant Munk
You mean like what i already pointed out in a nice way? Jeez
Grant Munk You say that like I wouldn't know that? Jeez
This clip makes me feel great. Two men from humble beginnings, got their starts in comedy together in the 80s, and here they are now. Oscar nominated actor being interviewed by the friggin Late Show host. Must be incredibly surreal to them
Lol Steven Colbert did not come from humble beginnings
Steve Carrell is so humble. I adore him and the two of them together.
"We've come a long way baby!"
"That's what she said."
+Alyssa Schiffman :')
You win the internet. Ugg. That line gave me Chills

But that’s a spy thriller
These two guys are like old college buddies. I love it.
Steve Carell is my favorite comedy actor of all time.
mine too
+Andrew Frye I like him and Seth Rogan, they have kinda similar styles
Steve Carell, Leslie Neilsen, Peter Sellers in that order.
Chris farley
+Andrew Frye He's definitely on the shortlist of the greats
this video literally gave me chills. these are two of my favorite comedians of all time. I truly am a child of the daily show.
One does not simply interview Steve Carell..
Steve Carell interviews you
the truth. HE CAN'T BE CONTAINED
He should have his own show
couldn't agree more
I didn't realize how funny Steve Carell was until I started to miss him on The Office.
Who doesn't like Michael Scott? Everybody does
Now that's a friendship!
These two are basically two versions of the same guy
santiago carreño is this why i love them both?
Yep. 😂😂 I've thought about that but never really put it like that. I bet that's why they're such good friends. I don't really have anyone like that for me. These guys share similar names and facial features. I feel like they could be cousins.
Great comment
bromance of the millenium
You can tell Steve and Stephen got a lot of history together. They treat each other like family the way they talk to each other
I'm in love with how because of their experience, they're kind of band nerds at heart
Steve is an amazing actor.
+Alain Bruno agreed
+Alain Bruno I love all of his movies
+Alain Bruno he is the best comedian for sure
+Alain Bruno your T/Grindr pic is also amazing
+Alain Bruno You have an amazing ego.
These two are just so immensely proud of each other, it's so damn wholesome!
He probably hates this but he will always be Michael Scott to me.
+Jason A I love Steve but hated Michael Scott. So I forgive him for The Office and love everything else.
+Brenda R Wow, I didnt think people that hated The Office actually existed.
+skusami well the show did continue after steve left, so...
+Threewulphmoon wow, that is totally irrelevant...
skusami i didn't know people that still liked the show after steve actually existed.
i will always remember when Stephen and Jon Stewart were presenting the Emmys and Ricky Gervais won but wasn't there so they decided to give it to their Steve instead
Is it just me or does Steve Carrell look really handsome right here?
holy shit Steve carell totally farted at 5:58 then giggled
+Luís Leão Quartin the pre-fart smirk. . Classic
+Victor ABP Hahahaha, that was amazing! Haha! Ohmygod that is so funny!
+Victor ABP holy shit, that would be so embarrasing, he's got balls of steel
and Stephen almost cracks up about it
Other hosts would've taken advantage of it to make the audience laugh I bet
Steve Caré
Colbert and Carell should do one more "even stephen"... Whenever it's posible, people would just blow their minds ....
The bro love is intense with these two. True friendship and happiness to see each other succeed. Awesome!
Bromance Alert!!
Love it though. They're both brilliant and would love to see them do something again.
Can Steve carrel live forever please
Their bromance gave me a broner.
So many characters come to my mind every time I heard Steve Carrell's voice... Brings tears of joy to my eyes... What a great man
Steve Carell + drama + comedy = perfection. Just watched the Big Short, man, what a historical nightmare for Wall Street.
chinookvalley Also: the country.
When people say you can't hear the bass, you can sure hear when it's missing!
SQUAD. GOALS.
......
No one was board. It is so much fun watching you guys reminisce. You guys look like kids when you do it and it's just fun you're both awesome
I’ve always loved watching Steven Carrell in interviews. He’s always so personable, genuine, and funny 😄
His performance in beautiful boy was amazing. Cried the entire time
Colbert speaks way too much in this interview. I suppose interviewing training goes out the window when you're with your mate. They're finishing each other's sentences!
+No Mauvaise Foi That's friendship for you!
+Blank xx000 Ambiguously.
+Blank xx000 They are gay, gah means happy and they sure looked freaking happy
+Brenda R Also seem like a Duo don't they?
Couldn't even post the homophobic comments on a video where he's actively appearing gay on purpose? Like the twitter heart video or the interview with the Big Short director. Like, amateur bigotry here, so many missed opportunities

2:07 It's the same song Steve played on his tuba in 40 Year Old Virgin. Haha.
GuiPT88 Thanks for saving me from having to make this comment! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
I was literally about to write/post the same thing!
"Even Stevphen" still one of the best Daily Show segments ever.
"What's the weather like up your own ass." LOL
I love when the hosts of these shows have people on that they’re friends with in real life, it totally transfers through in the interview.
Dang 25 years ago I was negative 5..
Minkki82 Nope.
+Joseph Loera I was exactly born lol
I'm still not born
😂😂😂😂 the way these comments played in my head was hilarious
these comment responses are hilarious!! :'D
Was not expecting a whole video of Steve Carell and Steven Colbert praising eachother and I Love it.
This just warms my cold euph player heart. Finally getting some recognition as a real instrument
Stephen’s first “Really?” after Steve says that he would rather perform with him is so honest and sweet.
Watching Steve Carell and Stephen Colbert together warms my heart
He’s got just the purest dad energy in this
Didn't know a late show host could be so genuine with their guests. You can just tell how far back these guys go
two legends.
I love this clip so much.Though i already watched it several times it still makes me smile and laugh!
Got to go to the 50 year anniversary of second city. Seeing these two do their old skits in a small theater was hilarious.
I wish I could have liked this 100 times. Collateralized debt obligation. Why did I not learn any of this in school?
because you wouldnt have listened
@sam blum unless you don't want to feel the pain of a market bubble.
"Collateralized debt obligations. Make it exciting. Go." Hahaha. Colbert is my new favorite late night host, I think.
I love watching these convos when the host and guest have real history together
"Collateralized debt obligations. Make it exciting. Go."
Wouldn't you love to see someone actually pull that off?
John Oliver
Love you both! Thanks for the work you do.
God I love this man, Just seeing him smile makes me want to laugh. Steve Carell is my hero.
Should've asked him to perform the "Skarn"
FINALLY!! I have been waiting for Steve to come on since the show aired!
It's so lovely seeing these two together again.
I love these two together. I lived for Even Stevphen when I was a teenager.
I absolutely love Steve Carell. He always cheers me up and is one of my favourite comedians. He really inspires me to make others laugh by just being genuine.
AAAAWWW this is so good, these great and funny people are just so wonderful.
It's so great to see such a genuine friendship
Steve Carell is a multifaceted actor and everything he does he puts his best and the end result is always a captivating movie. It's great to see him with the greats in The Big Short!
steve and stephen's (plus jon) friendship is like goals
I love this rosy-cheeked chubby version of steve ^_^ he looks so happy
One of my favorites! 🌼♥️
These guys' conversation about Anchors Aweigh on the Euphonium is the perfect representation of my high school experience, as I played euphonium and Anchors Aweigh was our fight song. I loved this.
That intro music was legit.
Look how the look and treat eachother. A true friendship, such a rare thing in these days especially when you consider they're both in the bizz.
Watching them tell each other how much they like each other ❤️ so cute.
These two. LOVE.
Nice synchronous singing of the baritone part to Anchors Aweigh! Spot on the notes and the rhythm.
even Stephen. reunited pure awesomeness
I love Steve's laugh ugh it's so sweet and genuine
favorite friendship story.. what a journey!
You can feel the love. Excellent.
Dear Hollywood. Please make a movie with these two amazing men! The world needs it.
wow that was PERFECT synchronization
These two on The Daily Show together were so insanely hilarious.
I play the baritone horn!!! So awesome!!!
They need to do an Even Stephen segment on this show!
I sooooooo love these guys!!!
I got warm fuzzies from these two. Such funny men.
Words can't describe how much I love him, the office is my favorite show of all time
this whole thing is so lovely and adorable
Ahh what a wonderful duo.
I could have watched these two talk for hours. Hand me a beer and watch the show. Wtf. Like mesmerized.
this show has an AWESOME band
This is so sweet
Everyone go look up "Stephen Colbert and Steve Carell as waiters". Hilarious skit where they both play waiters who are nauseated by food. I CRIED. xD
I love these two 🌸💖🎉💕💖
the chemistry here is amazing
that was absolutely adorable
In an interview with Oprah, Stephen said that during that 6 days of learning the baritone, he went to serenade his wife with it
