intheblues Hey mate, top review. The only hurdle stopping me from going this way is when I look around at all the gear I have, all the tube amps and pedals, and think about how many work years it took to get them. I just know if I get one of these units or similar, and it sounds as good as what I'm seeing on your demo, I'm not gonna use the stuff I have anymore. And that stops me every time. I love my stuff that I worked years to get. I think I need therapy....
Another great demo. Just a note. You don't need to save a patch to the computer, then import it to copy it. When you go to save it, you can use the dial to select a different number, then save it. It's basically like a Save As... option when working in Microsoft Word. Makes it super quick to copy patches over for the exact reason you state - rhythm version, lead version.
I just ordered one. Not for the presets, but for some of the INSANE custom patches that are being sold by third party sellers out there. I am stunned by some of the capabilities of the unit
Alot of love for your background wall art...I'm from Austin,Texas...awesome stuff...your videos are incredible...nice gear, guitars and sense of tone...
dam, i really gotta have one, sound killer, i've only just caught on to this unit, been waiting for something of this quality without the usual high price tag, thanks Shane, awesome work as usual
If I had something like this when I started playing guitar it sure would be a blast to learn & practice with it. But, my old 15w Crate was the best thing you could get at that time :) Awesome review like always Shane.
Awesome device!!! As players, we should never be afraid of technology when it comes to getting our tone. Whether it’s a solid state amp, tube amp, or this little pedal, being able to recreate our personal tone is important. Shane, you have shown us that you can pull your tone no matter what you use. Thanks again for opening our eyes to all possibilities! Cheers!🎸🎸🤘🏽🎸🤘🏽
I hope Moer come out with a similar model aimed at pedalboards to FOH, meaning; no Expression pedal (taking up less space), dedicated outs; XLR mono/stereo for FOH w. ground lift and switcable line/mic out level, post amp & efx - pre cab outs to amps line in, and of course a bypass out.
Ironically this pedalboard has external Wah pedal input. I suppose it's for those who prefer a larger or analog wah pedal. And then you can put that external pedal in the chain wherever you would like with the interface.
Nice Vid Shane! I’ve never really messed around with these types of units before. I can see where it might come in handy in a Studio though. Keep up the Good Work my Friend.
Thanks a lot Rick. I had no expectations about this unit and when I had a chance to test it out I was totally blown away. For a home studio guy this is a great unit to have for sure.
Finally ! Your review is by far one of the best if not the best one. I really wanted to hear your input on this one. So how practical is it live ? Is it worth it ?
The only thing with using it live was I needed to make some changes to the low end and also how much drive I thought I needed at home vs at the gig. Once I was at the gig I backed off the drive and tops and it was great. I had to also make the same tweak to my higher gain setting too. It's not perfect for live use but once I had it dialled in it was plug and play basically. I just flicked between my two patches all night but odds are if you're using it on a lot of different PA systems just spend a moment before the gig doing a sound check as all speakers are different.
I wish it would have a loop (to use it as a 4 cable method) and two sets of OUTs (or a dry out and stereo wet out) to go to the amp and the FOH/audio interface and/or to use it in a Wet/Dry/Wet configuration. Maybe a GE-300?
It really is an amazing unit. I loaded in my own IRs and programmed my own 5 presets from clean to scream and I just use this thru the pa and thru in ear monitors. I do a lot of fly gigs and this fits in my hand luggage!!
Well done Shane, since you and Darrell Braun did your reviews these units went up $100AUD. Thanks very much for the video i really enjoyed it and I hope to buy one. Cheers Chris.
Our household is new to guitar, ive been looking into some pedals and such, to play with and experiment with sounds....I was thinking this would be a good kind of learning tool and give us a tuner, drive sounds, delay, reverb, drums to play along with, a simple looper, and more....all for about the cost of a good tuner, drive, and a delay or reverb... Your video just about has me sold on the Mooer ge200 pedal, do you think it is a good start for our house to get into playing with sounds...?
That is a great inspiring review, never had an eye on Mooer products before, for no apparent reason though. A BOSS GT-1 review, which looks a very similar concept to this GE200, would be very much welcomed.
Great playing and tones Man! You knew that it wouldn’t be long before a company like Mooer came out with an inexpensive Kemper-type or Line 6 clone for recording. That’s a keeper for sure! Nice!! 😎🤙🏻
The built in cab sims are fine, but I've loaded several free cab sims from the internet and it takes the unit up a notch. If you are meh on the sound of your unit, load some custom cab sims like God's Cab before you give up on it.
THANKS SHANE FOR THE LOING ONES!! I WAS LOOKING FOR SOETHING WITH SOME SUBSTANCE BEHIND IT!! I AM TRYING TO FIGURE OUT THE MULTIPLE EFFECTS MARKET FOR PURCHASE!! EXACTLY WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR!!!TYM
Great video as always. I'm really curious about how this sounds through a real amplifier. Also, don't worry about the length of the review! I'll watch Henning do a 45 minute review on an amp with only 3 knobs lol. Don't be afraid to get deep into it!
Thank you very much helped a lot.. I bought this pedal, but I have a question. I have Blackstar id core 10 v2 stero amplifier, and I connected my pedal to that amplifier. I was wondering if I did something wrong, I connected my amplifier through MONO L as it is described in user manual. However, sound quality is not so good. What can be the problem ? I already minimised all settings on amplifier itself and using only volume there are some effects on aplifier itself such as OD1 OD2 CRUNCH clean etc. I use it on clean warm .. Thank you !
Nice demo, thanks. Great sound I must say, I'm impressed... Can you maybe move saved presets around via drag & drop using the computer? I wonder if I could e.g. create a new preset, save it as number one and move the previous number one to a free slot, like 200? And how do you rate the noisegate? In some moments when you skip through the parameters, it's quite noisy, even though the NS is active...
Wonderful video shane !!! It would be perfect for me if you would demo the dotted 8th note delay and the dual delay. Otherwise you did an excellent job !! If I get one video of how well this unit will do as per tapping in and delays going into dotted 8th notes or dual delays both delays panned hard left and right, I would buy 2 of these !!! Above all, thank you !!
Hy Shane! I just bought one of these tiny little monster and it's awesome!! Thanks for the video, it helped me a lot before the purchase. Cheers from Brazil!
Great review, actually you can turn off all effect with the ctrl button. In fact it is switching de current state of the effects you want so for example, one press of the button can turn off mod and turn on DS and Reverb.
Great video, could you please help me with the issue I have? I'm using GE-200 connected to my guitar and laptop, I am using Studio one artist as DAW and I play the clean guitar , then add effects and distortion to my clean guitar from Ampire in studio one, but I can hear both signals from GE-200 and distorted guitar from Ampire, any advice what's going wrong?
Can you hook this Mooer MFX up to the fx loop of a guitar amp? I have a Blackstar HT-5R MKii and looking for a good MFX pedal. It's a complete jungle out there! Still deciding between the Mooer and the Nux MG30
don’t understand the eq button option on the pedal is it the same as the low mids and highs option? I’m trying to the get the sound to be not as muffled sounding.
Hey Shane I know it's a older video but I'll comment just in case you read it. I've moved into a flat and thinking about running this unit straight into my Adam Audio T7V Studio Monitors instead of using my valve amps because of noise. You think it's a viable solution? Cheers.
Great demo. Got one of these a couple of weeks ago and very impressed. Most of the presets (especially the clean ones) are actually useable out of the box!! Searched the Web and got a couple of free IRs from Celestion and Ownhamer. The Ownhamer ones are great, recommend trying them.
intheblues it's a free one made by producer Cenzo Thowsend. I find it works really well on amps with a bit of crunch. The Ownhamer ones are great on amps with a bit more gain. It's a good way of trying third party IRs before buying some and thinking "actually, they're not much different to the built in ones"!
The output to my current sound card. Does it go out line level? As in cab I plug it to a line in and use it as a preamp or do I have to go into an instrument jack on my interface?
Aloha! I got this a few months ago. Is there a way to save a group of presets so I can access them immediately? I remember watching a vid where the narrator mentioned it can be done. I just can't find that vid for some reason. Thanks!
It looks neat, compact and stylish, with its own look, very impressive :-) I always thought a Ring Modulator was what people used to wash & cool down their ring after passing the remnants of a really spicy hot curry or chilli they'd eaten the night before! Great review. When you test it live you should try and set up a dummy tube amp and see if it fools Dr Ric :-0. I must also say I can't believe how disappointed I am with Amazon Australia, it's pathetic, luckily I have a US account.
GE 300 up soon. Its bigger brother. Saw at Namm being tested. Not there but via RUclips. Lol. Ola checks it out too. I might snag this one. If price drops. I'm cheap. Lol. For now.
Hi Shane, thanks for the video ! Great demo. It sounds killer. Thanks to your video, I finally bought this little piece of gear. I'm really happy with the GE200. However, I'm confused. i got two cristal clear plastic rings with the unit. It sounds to fit on the footswitch. However, I don't understant what's the use of those rings. Any Idea?... By the way, I got the same Telecaster as you got. Natural finish, all ash body with a couple of Joe Barden Danny Gatton pickups. See you. Take care.
Shane, I have seen a few demos of this beast and, I have to say it sounds immense! However, a question relating to this and, well, all fx pedals of this type... Can it be used as a back up amp connected to a PA? I use a Peavey Valveking live which I love but, it's getting a bit old and would feel more comfortable with a backup that doesn't cost a fortune or weigh a ton!
Thanks Shane... Fascinating 'option' for a backup amp. Your comment about using live suggests that, perhaps, it's not going to be a complete replacement for an amp? How about home use through studio speakers? Would they connect direct or need a mixer in between?
I take it you didn't watch the video lol. What did I say right at the start of the video? Like. RIGHT at the start. 😂 This is exactly how you're hearing it mate. lol.
Yeah, OK, you got me on that one Shane! ;-) Busy multi-tasking to get jobs finished so that I can get on the guitar later! ;-) This sounds awesome. Need to get out and try it for myself as for a backup amp live and also home use as my practice amp is way overdue to be replaced
Is the impulse response engine identical to what's in the Mooer Radar? If so - seems like you get a lot for double what the Radar costs (assuming you'd have a use for the Mooer amp sims + FX in the GE200 versus in the Radar). In related news, it's a shame you can't upload new amp profiles to the GE200. The ones Michael Britt puts together are awesome; it'd be great to have some of his profiles in this little guy.
Q: Will any of the blendable effects go to 100% wet (as in: you could use it for the wet part of a wet/dry/wet rig such that no dry signal gets through, or does "all of the way wet" really mean a 50/50 blend of wet+dry like it does on a lot of delay/reverb pedals?
To be fair, Ring mod isn't suited for traditional western scales. You have to be a crazy math whiz able to calculate the result. The formula would have to include the input frequency, the subtraction of the difference between the modulator frequency, the addition of said modulator, and finally the result is a blend of the sum and difference. Wtf right?! I play both guitars (bass, acoustic, electric) and synthesizers. There's definitely a left-brain right-brain thing between the two. Playing with a guitar speaks to a very pleasurable and emotional place in me. The synths go much deeper and the experience becomes more cerebral. I've put everything through ring mods, the best results were synths, drum machines and samples. On guitar? Forget it! Lol the only time I've seen a good use of ringing guitar is in a Steve Stevens Rig Rundown. A general consensus should be reached, the traditional nature of guitar playing is hindered by modulating pitch in such an extreme way. I wish to clarify that there are those who will dial in things in a great way, the adventurous ones. If one doesn't know how to use ring mod, they shouldn't knock it after not getting a traditional result. After all, pedals are meant for any unbalanced signal. The two effects that have been seen as useless by guitarists are Ring and downsampling/bitcrushing. They're not useless, just not fit for the Clapton aficionado. Cheers!
Hi Shane, really enjoying your clips, when listening to the gear review run down I found the background track was slightly louder and I was listening more to the track than your gear rundown on this particular clip. Pedal seems to have the goods for home jamming. How is that PRS going? Seriously thinking of getting one as the music shop has a lefty hanging on the wall.
I just posted a video of the PRS - I love it. 😄Sometimes I use different background tracks but I usually try to keep them down in the mix sometimes though just due to human error I get the levels a bit out of whack.
Great review Shane. As a long time user of a Boss GT3 which is great still after 20 years or so I am interested in the new generation of multi effects. Have you done the new Boss one yet? Be great if you could. 👍🤘🏻🎸👍🤘🏻🎸👍🤘🏻🎸😁😁
Couple of questions. Can you also parallel effects? And say you use a slightly different sound on the left as on the right channel? Does it also do impulse responses for guitars?
Hi Piet. I don't know everything about this unit but there's no Guitar IR's just cabs, speakers, and effects from what I understand. There's no option in the menu for any guitar options. Some of the effects work in stereo like delays and modulation effects. I am not certain you can choose to have two different cabs L&R for example but I could be wrong. Regards, Shane
*Edit: guitar IRs? I know Line 6 do modeling guitars with their Variax line. You probably mean guitar cabinet+mic IRs? Hey Piet. According to Mooer's website, the GE200 comes with 26 IRs loaded with the option the load 3rd party IRs as well. Not sure on the parallel effects though. The manual doesn't mention it. Maybe this will be a feature on the GE300 which will be coming soon*.

You could just get a Joyo American sound pedal and use your existing pedals in the chain direct to a PA system. :-)
intheblues Thanks man, I'm gonna sus that out
I have a hard time believing it is direct to soundcard. Well, technology !!! And the SIZE... it's pretty damn small!! I'm sold!!
Another great demo. Just a note. You don't need to save a patch to the computer, then import it to copy it. When you go to save it, you can use the dial to select a different number, then save it. Omg ,that jem 900 with no tweaking sounded great, with that as a starting point you can’t go wrong, nicely dialled in Shane
I just ordered one. Not for the presets, but for some of the INSANE custom patches that are being sold by third party sellers out there. I am stunned by some of the capabilities of the unit
send me the link to the third party sellers if you want :)
Looks good, and the sound demos are impressive too! I’m only10 mins in and really impressed already.
Great review, thanks for making your own presets and not just sleep walking through the review
this is such a great comment. preach it
Alot of love for your background wall art...I'm from Austin,Texas...awesome stuff...your videos are incredible...nice gear, guitars and sense of tone...
Been using one for 6 months. It sounds great and is well thought out.
dam, i really gotta have one, sound killer, i've only just caught on to this unit, been waiting for something of this quality without the usual high price tag, thanks Shane, awesome work as usual
The fact that you seem to be actually enthusiastic about this unit makes me trust it's quality
Exactly. ONe of the reasons I bought this pedal.
Finally made it to the end Shane ;-) Yes please! Would love to hear what it sounds like into an amp ;-)
I have a Kemper but I think the Ge200 is a great backup or a unit to take on a trip.
I believe you can disable/enable one or several effects within a patch using the ctl/tap toggle. Maybe not super convenient, but it is there.
Thanks for the heads up. I could only find it worked on one effect at a time. I need to deep dive into it more by the looks of it.
I love the fact that it’s controlled with a knob, I hate arrow buttons.
What model that has arrow buttons?
If I had something like this when I started playing guitar it sure would be a blast to learn & practice with it. But, my old 15w Crate was the best thing you could get at that time :) Awesome review like always Shane.

Christian Boddum ge300 comming soon
Definitely interested ;-)
Ironically this pedalboard has external Wah pedal input. I suppose it's for those who prefer a larger or analog wah pedal. And then you can put that external pedal in the chain wherever you would like with the interface.
Take payments mate...I hold your opinion super high in all your gear, guitar's, Amps etc..Watch em over again with a few beer's 👍👍🇳🇿🍻
Yes I want to hear this through a pa stystem with a band. I am surprised no one has made a vid yet.
29:43 I also thought over abt that. Would you consider the ZoomG5n as versatile cause it has an individual footswitches to turn it on & off?
Finally ! Your review is by far one of the best if not the best one. I really wanted to hear your input on this one.

Yeh, watch the highs when using it live. Just dial back that presence knob!
Damn man... that thing sounds awesome!
It's really quite great man! No loud amps in the room and great quality audio. I dig it.

Not a lot between the Kemper and this?!?!?! WOW! This has gotta be on my shopping list!!!
is it possible to put in chain 2 or 3 modulación like chorus.flanger and phaser. ???
Excellent demo, sounds like an interesting product!
Sounds great Shane.Your intro rocked it out of the park.
Thanks a lot Mitch. 😄
I NEED one of this!
Wow thing sounds great

Nice vídeo. Does Ge200 amp simulation works well in the amp return? Cab on/off?
Between zoom g3x and Mooer ge200, which is the easiest to handle??
Thanks for the review!
More on this one mate. Great vid mate
Don't think I need another multi-fx that I'll never use, but great review Shane!

Yes this is exactly what I am doing on the video. It's all direct to the sound card. See my comment avove on Mercyful Media's post. 😄
😂 This is exactly how you're hearing it mate. lol.
It can work direct to a mixer or PA system without anything in between. Absolutely. That's what you're hearing on the video. :-)
Hey Shane what kind of headphones did you use with the ge -200
How does this sound through a tube amp?
Solid state amp?
Any idea when the ge300 is going to be available?
Hi Shane, Ive heard some complaints that the line in and live sounds were lacking although the headphone sound is good, did you find this?
Really like, it. How does it compare to say the Fender Mustang V2/Katana in terms of modeled sounds?
Great review - what's "direct to sound card" - I know so little about gear
Can you turn off Cabinet and
amp simulation globally?
How do you turn it off in general, like
in a patch or a preset?
Does anyone know how the hell I disable the looper function? Sometimes I trigger it live by mistake while changing presets.
I think ring modulators work great as doorstops
😂Yep! It would be great if they could be un-invented!
Don't you LIKE having your ring modulated? ;oP
😂
LOL! I JUST got done watching. Impressive!
Cheers!
How about a nice Jimmy Hendrix wind crys Mary clean sound. And If you could share the settings. Thanks.
Hey Shane - how would you rate the sound of this against software such as guitar rig etc
How does it sound through a tube amp?
neet little thing, great review! thanks shane ...
Great review Shane. As a long time user of a Boss GT3 which is great still after 20 years or so I am interested in the new generation of multi effects. Have you done the new Boss one yet? Be great if you could. 👍🤘🏻🎸👍🤘🏻🎸👍🤘🏻🎸😁😁
lol" Ring modulators" and u played the funky stuff...
Regards,
Shane
Right, thanks.
With the Line6 for example you can create a whole custom signal chain for example. Instead of just one in series.
Cool! You can create a whole signal chain and order it however you like. There's an example at 23:12
Yeah, I have seen that, but not if you could have parallel signal chains etc.
But thanks anyway :)
