  • Castle Campbell sits in the valley above the town of Dollar in Scotland. It was the lowland seat of the earls and dukes of Argyll, chiefs of Clan Campbell, from the 15th to the 19th century, and was visited by Mary, Queen of Scots, in the 16th century.
    The castle is now managed by Historic Scotland and open to the public most of the year.

    Wow, that brings back memories. I haven't been there since about 1963. I can clearly remember walking up to the castle and some where I have a photo of my late parents and my sister on the terrace. I can also remember the walk walk down a gorge (different from the walk up) made over suspended platforms over the stream rushing beneath. whether that one was the burn of care or the burn of sorrow I can not remember. Thank you for the memory.
