Nono, talking about adventures _is_ what he's trying to say. That's just the only thing in his brain at any given moment. You see, Caine doesn't hate humans the way AM does. He actually tries his very best to help them out, even attempting to make an exit because they all wanted one! There's just one issue, Caine doesn't understand human psychology, he doesn't even seem to know what an 'exit' is. As a result, his attempts at kindness end up only hurting the circus members. Meanwhile, he seems completely oblivious to the suffering he's causing. You saw what happened when Zooble informed him that everyone disliked his adventures. He was in denial, but as soon as the thought that he was bad at his only purpose of existence crept in, he almost broke on the spot.
On account of how Zooble's barely even involved in the adventures (and/or the NPC Jax theory), the entire premise of TADC might be a reference to AM's torture of _five_ humans.
See what makes the audiobook AM much more terrifying is that that's the AUTHOR OF THE STORY voicing him. The one person who knows the voice, the intent, the insanity better than anyone else. You can FEEL the bile in every word when he gets to the HATE, the spiraling madness in the laughter, the malice towards humanity for daring play god and making AM. That's why the speech is so impressive. Because the author got to really show exactly how much he meant by the not being enough soace to comprehend how much AM hates humanity in that imperceivably tiny moment
Well, the one in the video is not the audiobook, is the radio theater, but it is still Harlan Ellison for the voice of AM, and also in the game. Harlan Ellison made the voice for AM in all the versions, because he thought he was the only one capable of bringing AM's hate to life.

Caine is AM, but at the same time he's the exact opposite of AM.

In both stories a group of humans is held captive by an AI that torments them, but the personalities of the AI in question changes the tone of the story and the challenges the characters face. My theory is he's only a small aspect of the game's greater AI. He's programmed to act as a host, gamemaster, and caretaker, and he excels at that, but he cannot comprehend the players' more complex minds, or how even he has less agency than he realizes.

The theory of this show being based off of "I Have no Mouth but I Must Scream" makes so many things fall into place. Suddenly things just became a lot darker 🤣
Caine was either reminded he was made by Kinger who was one of the programmers, Kinger didn't want to go on a adventure,or Kinger questioned Caine about his behavior and actions.
hey! Thanks for using the BBC audio, I've never heard it before now and /damn/ does it have a special sort of quality that isn't quite present in the game's rants, even though both are voiced by the same guy (the author). It's also just a lot more manic, which really suits Caine.

This actually made me aware of the radio drama adaptation's existence People always talk about the video game version of AM's speech when referencing IHNMAIMS, but I honestly think I like this version's audio more The depths AM has been pushed to are palpable, and the addition of "were I human, I think I would die of it" really drives home that he is so far beyond the natural extent a living being could hate

Five prisoners in a perpetual hell with an AI master that sends them on trips to face horrors over and over for seemingly no reason besides his own amusement. I can't believe it took me this long to see it knowing how much I loved the original idea of AM.
I like to believe Caine snapped here, because Zooble abstracted. Not because he cares about them, but because they weren't Kinger. Kinger, his creator who forced this existence on him. Kinger, who has been in this little hell the longest & has somehow managed to outlast everyone around him. Kinger, who managed to find some form of comfort in his insanity. Knowing that being subtle was never going to break Kinger & that the old man would just keep outlasting everyone, Caine decided to be bluntly honest & stop hiding his true feelings.

That is such a fantastic capture of what voice acting is. Before AM has even mentioned the word “hate”, you can already tell how much hatred he has within him. Hatred that borders on insanity, and yet he continues to think of new ways to torture the five humans left. The animatic was also very great. I’m not used to seeing Caine not being cheerful, but the stills used were a great way to bridge the audio and the character together. Fantastic work
Wow, where is this audio from? I love this voice direction for AM. Most others I’ve seen give him a monstrous robotic voice, but I love how human this sounds. He sounds like a neurotic office worker who’s never gotten a promotion or anything who’s finally being let go because of budget cuts. A real man who knows nothing but longing and pain and envy and HATE. It’s like the complete opposite of Caine’s boisterous and vapid gameshow host voice, which knows nothing but entertainment and smiles. I know Caine’s VA dubbed part of this monologue before but I’d love to hear him try to do it similar to this delivery.

This actually made me aware of the radio drama adaptation's existence
People always talk about the video game version of AM's speech when referencing IHNMAIMS, but I honestly think I like this version's audio more
The depths AM has been pushed to are palpable, and the addition of "were I human, I think I would die of it" really drives home that he is so far beyond the natural extent a living being could hate
Jax is gonna go too far one day, and Caine is gonna switch up to AM real quick, I bet.
It would be a neat idea if AM,after snapping for hundreds of years,decided to instead swing the other direction because he's just that bored.

I like to believe Caine snapped here, because Zooble abstracted. Not because he cares about them, but because they weren't Kinger. Kinger, his creator who forced this existence on him. Kinger, who has been in this little hell the longest & has somehow managed to outlast everyone around him. Kinger, who managed to find some form of comfort in his insanity. Knowing that being subtle was never going to break Kinger & that the old man would just keep outlasting everyone, Caine decided to be bluntly honest & stop hiding his true feelings.

That is such a fantastic capture of what voice acting is. Before AM has even mentioned the word “hate”, you can already tell how much hatred he has within him. Hatred that borders on insanity, and yet he continues to think of new ways to torture the five humans left.
The animatic was also very great. I’m not used to seeing Caine not being cheerful, but the stills used were a great way to bridge the audio and the character together. Fantastic work
Wow, where is this audio from? I love this voice direction for AM. Most others I’ve seen give him a monstrous robotic voice, but I love how human this sounds. He sounds like a neurotic office worker who’s never gotten a promotion or anything who’s finally being let go because of budget cuts. A real man who knows nothing but longing and pain and envy and HATE. It’s like the complete opposite of Caine’s boisterous and vapid gameshow host voice, which knows nothing but entertainment and smiles. I know Caine’s VA dubbed part of this monologue before but I’d love to hear him try to do it similar to this delivery.
This was by the creator of IHNMAIMS, who understands the character best, and is admittedly, the closest we have to AM irl
