    I was really surprised this worked so well for me! Desperately, before caving and getting Botox (for my 3 deep frown lines) I tried medical tape with a small piece of bristol board to hold it straight and applied retin a under it and a wk later they've improved I'd say 85 percent. Pretty amazing. I thought I was going kinda crazy until I saw results, it's improved my self confidence drastically. I also started sleeping on my back because I DO NOT want them back lol

    As someone who uses surgical tape, you have to cut several pieces and layer them. The increased thickness will compare to the effectiveness of the Frownies.

    For those looking for a cheaper option I use cloth tape (medical tape), which is breathable and has worked great for me. I sleep on my back, but due to stress wake up looking pissed and ready to fight lol. My elevens were appearing more visible when I woke the last month or two and I had to do something. Tried scotch tape temporarily and decided to use cloth tape. My skin is smooth when waking again!

    • @SissitheGerman

      I’m happy medical tape is working for you! For me it’s not stiff enough. I need the support that paper gives me! Maybe my frown line is deeper than yours. 😉

      OMG!! I'm the same! By medical tape, do you mean the one like in this video or the white type that's more like paper? :)

    • @alyshay89
      @alyshay89 4 месяца назад

      @marie-michellefortier2993
      When using, remember to remove it slowly and gently. I will hold down my skin and roll up one of the corners. As for firmness, you can layer the tape to achieve your acquired firmness. I use two layers or overlap 1.5 to 2-inch strips. Vertically, from the bridge of my nose and horizontally above my eyebrows, in a t formation. Play around with what works best for you for the area you're trying to keep still while you sleep.
      Worst case scenario, after a week of trying it, you can return the tape and get your $4 bucks back if you don't care for it. To each their own😁
      I hope this helps 💞

  • @8TheOry
    @8TheOry 9 лет назад +10

    Sissi, the paper tape works on deeper wri kles too, but you need to put on a few layers of tape not only one...it's still cheaper than frownies and Co.

  • @Goody2shzToo
    @Goody2shzToo 8 лет назад +41

    You're not supposed to apply the tape *across* the wrinkle like you did in the picture. You're supposed to stretch the wrinkle out and place the tape *long-wise* over the wrinkle. There's much less flex in the tape that way. I do it that way with regular transparent tape and it works for me.

      And also you have to use a narrow surgical tape (Micropor) and stick it against the direction of the wrinkle (vertical wrinkles horizontal stripe) for nasolabial (diagonal stripe)

  • @erikaerika1984

    It actually doesn't have too much to do with you frowning in your sleep getting a deep wrinkle like that you will get from sleeping on your side and with your cheek on the pillow....because of that I always sleep on my back face up and when I sleep like that I don't wake up with wrinkles but when I sleep on my side I always get a crease in my forehead

      Erika Solis I think it depends, it has worked really well on me, I had a very faint start of an 11 line, but I really was frowning in my sleep and I know I was doing it as I was waking up with bad headaches between my eyes and the lines were coming. I started these and my headaches went and the lines have faded. So I think it's each to their own, ifmyou know you scrunch up your face in sleep then give them a go.

      i do use silky and satin pillow cases for 5 years and it does help but not for 11. stain and silk pillows help prevent your skin night cream and/or hair treatment being absorbed by cotton pillow cases. . as well as for the rubbing of hair and skin . but it wont stop from getting 11's .

  • @Sequoyah_7
    @Sequoyah_7 8 лет назад +2

    It sounds like the thickness of the paper tape you used, was thinner than the paper thickness of the Frownies. The thinner paper tape would crease if it was very thin, making the lines on the face worse. I stated using Frownies for my frown lines recently and helps so much...yes, not permanent but helpful and I am fine with that, for now.

    I have been trying to tape my forehead lately, and it does seem to help some. What I do, is I cut a peice of thin waxy cardboard or a piece off of a small box and place between eyes and one over the spot where my muscle is trying to ripple. That pushes it down back into place and keeps it there the whole night, also keeps me from squinting. Looks crazy and like I got knocked in the head by something, but beets plastic surgery.

    whoever is telling people to ''just go get some brown electrical tape'' obviously dont know how frownies work. there is a reason women have been using frownies for over 100 years and if surgical tape worked just as well, i would think it would have caught on like fire by now and we would know nothing about our grandparents frownies today. frownies work by holding the skin apart and keeping it apart through the night weakening the frown muscles, and if you use them long enough, it also works by retraining the muscles. if a flemsey piece of tape could do that, why women wouldnt be heading to the doctors in droves to get line fillers. i use frownies and the immediate result is enough for me to keep on using them, it lasts at least for a few hours. love love LOVE my frownies;)

    My personal bone to pick with botox, is 2 yrs post injection I have uneven lumps and a dent in middle of forehead where it was injected. I started in my early 30's...in one way I thought well by the time I am 40 who cares what I look like, I will not be attractive to men anyways...so if botox creates dammage by then it doesn't matter....but now I do care, because I don't want a dammaged muscle in the middle of my forehead which is what I have. My forehead was so symetrical before botox, with one small wrinkle in glabella area. Now I seem to have scar tissue on left of old injection site area....that creates an uneven lump. I have no idea what procedure could fix it...as the aftermath of stopping botox is spoken about nowhere....It is not worth dammaging your face for botox..

      +Julia Skagfjord oh no! I'm so sorry! I would love to write about your experience on my blog (72,000 readers). Would you care for that? I think it would be great to inform my readers about the dangers of Botox -as it seems to be greatly played down by everybody! Let me know!

    • @ksero1000
      @ksero1000 7 лет назад

      Julia Skagfjord I know. I don't like how Botox distorts my face. If it irons out one area, it wrinkles up another. Now I got this pinpoint keloid like scar near my glabellar line that draws the eyes right to the trouble area. I'm worried it is going to enlarge. It either is or I am obsessing...either way, I am not happy. I started in my early 30's too with the intention to delay the worsening of new onset of wrinkles. I honestly believe my skin had become detached or loosened from its basement membrane as well. I am 40 now so the surgeon can just say "no...u just aged by 7 years" and "that bump was not caused by injections...they are natural". 🤔 and I cannot believe I look in the mirror and debate with myself to have it done again. I don't like what I see either way. At least if I resist temptation, I can save myself some debt.

    • @michaelangst6078
      @michaelangst6078 7 лет назад +4

      Even the hottest women have wrinkles. yes some have them be less noticeable than others, but so what. Don't obsess over it. I admit the wrinkle between your eyebrows can be the most bothersome, but everyone gets forehead wrinkles and you shouldn't stress about it. The percent of men who wouldn't date you because of your wrinkles would be very low.. They may not want to be with you because of how you look, but it won't be because of your wrinkles.

    • @lucianakueker3634
      @lucianakueker3634 7 лет назад +6

    • @michaelangst6078
      @michaelangst6078 7 лет назад +3

      This is true.. Although I admit I will always find younger women more attractive. I would never not be attracted to a woman because of her wrinkles... That is ridiculous. Teens can have pretty noticeable wrinkles on their forehead. Why would you ever worry about it when you're older.....Getting botox only ever makes a womans skin worse to me.

    Hi there, the tape had the opposite effect because it was applied incorrectly. You need 2 pieces of tape, 1 per side of your face and they should be pulled outwards towards the ears to actually stretch the frown backwards. I have been using it for years and it's been a miracle, it mystifies me that people continue to think squeezing the frown together with one piece would be an effective strategy.

    I think frown lines are good, if they're not real deep. The problem when you are really pretty lines tend to act as arrows saying, "look here".

    You need to do it on your laugh lines. Regular medical tape works. Those lines started making me look older. So I decided to use it on there after watching this lady here on yt who had been doing it for many years.

    I’m convinced Frownies pays this woman to post this propaganda video. Kinetic tape works perfectly!!! It’s literally meant to go on skin and stop muscle movement. Kinetic tape sticks to your skin JUST FINE layer it to make it stiff. There’s also a grid on the back of kinetic tape that helps you cut PERFECT squares and triangles

    why can't you put the paper tape thicker, like layer it at least two or three times and make it a thicker paper tape?

    I dumped them out as they are a nightmare to sleep in. The really pinch and when you move about in your sleep they can actually wake you up. I found them horrible.

    How old are you? You look amazing. You mentioned something about people in their 30's may be able to benefit from the tape. This means you aren't in your 30's? Well, you deffo look like a 30 something.
