Fantastic news!! One moment you have nothing, and the next moment you can choose. C'est La Vie :-) Cheers Tammy 👍 Enjoy !! 🌷 from the Netherlands 🇳🇱, TW.
Well done. My advice would be, still rethink your high overhead. Unfortunately, after age 50, layoffs like the one you experienced are the norm not the exception. The next one is just a matter of time. Hope for the best, plan for the worst. :-) And since you asked, i'd go for the solar job. Way more interesting. I work in big tech, focussed on energy and utilities. The grid is massively transforming to ingest distributed energy sources, including solar. it's where the future is. And in my completely uninformed opinion, it's the more inspired choice. And you have done well whenever you've made inspired choices, from what i can see. Also... managing large teams comes with stress. As we get older, stress has health consequences. Regardless of which way you go, you've done fantastically well. Well done, you!
My thoughts on the job choice, go for the bigger profitable company , it seems to me they are more likely to be around long term. And yes I think having so many pulling for you made a difference ❤️🙏🤗🎩
Now to pick the best job and go for it. Honestly the Solar Company not being profitable plus the future of solar will be not as good for at least the next 4 years are bad signs. The management position sounds like it builds on your current career path and could be really good for you and your career. So for you that is what i would suggest is your best option. Oh yeah congrats on having options. Peace and Love.
Really good news! If you’re not happy with it at least you will be employed and can still be looking for something you would love. I always think it best to look while you’re employed than under the pressure of unemployment. I do pray you find the absolute best for you. You have so much potential.
Take the designer job and continue looking for the hybrid or more perfect managerial position. Either way, only you can know which one is best for you.
Good Karma out ... Good things come In return!! As you put out intensions ( positively)...you will get positive returns!! Good for you... Keep on the positive... ...blessed be...!! 🙏👍🐺🧙♂️🦊🤙🙏
Congrats. The remote job with Europe trips would be very tempting for me, especially if it pays only a little less. But if the other one is a better more secure company and more satisfying job, I’d probably take that one.
I was a leader for over 15 years and managed up to 45 people....I am now turned down 3 offers for Management because I love the job I have and don't want to "babysit Adults" as my wife tells me I used to do :)
All of the good and positiveness that you put out into the world comes right back to you! I've seen it happen in my own life. Go with the 'for profit' position. More stability. Best wishes to you!
Always believe in yourself no matter what, follow your heart and the universe provides. Be good and stay true to yourself and what matters. Congratulations on your possibilities!!
happy happy happy for you do what makes u the happiest and look up in the sky and remember they are angels among us watching over us even if u cant see them u can feel them
Dear Tammy ❤I'm so happy for you 🎉 I have prayed 🙏 for you. I know you will take the right direction ❤ What you want for the future, to grow more in a job or do the job to get paid. I'm sure you feel it in your body what makes you feel happy or smile 😃 perhaps go in nature and think on a hiking tour. Again your family must also be happy for you. ❤❤❤
So happy for you! I love your enthusiasm through all this and how you love hiking and enjoying nature. Praying you get the job that's best for you. From another Tammy ❤🙏
It was bound to happen with your experience. Same thing happened to me many years ago. I've since retired from that company and stay in touch with a few of them which I cherish a lot. Go after it and knock their socks off.
Congrats! I'm also in cybersecurity, fairly senior, and I say go with the profitable company with the fun coworker. Otherwise you might be back unemployed in a year. The cons dont sound too bad at all to me, and I work 100% remote. 1 day a week isnt bad even with the occasional week in Denver.
Congratulations,Tammy!🎉🍾🎉 I knew you would be offered a job soon….with your skills and experience, it was only a matter of time🙌 I retired from Teaching a couple of years ago(and am 59 years)and can tell you that having less stress and being able to go hiking and kayaking has been incredibly beneficial for my health and mental state. I do have a pension but I’m sure you have a 401K,etc…. just choose what is best for your soul (and not bad on the wallet!!). I bet you’ve already chosen the right one for you! Cheers 🍻
I am happy for you!. What type of job show your talent and your personality? It definitely has to match with your interest, apart from the rest, that are details. Are those details important to you? It s all depend on what do you want from a company. All the best for any decision you are going to make. and I hope this one it s better than the previous.
Would go with the Solar. More free time. Time to slow down and take care of yourself. Remote work would be great, you could go on so many hikes and things around the cabin.
I'm so happy for you!!! I was praying for you. I think you should take the job with the solar company. Either way, I hope you end up making the right choice for you.
Tammmmmmy...the FREAKING WORLD is your oyster...you are amazing no wonder you have so many video hits...the world is pulling for..any company who gets YOU will be soooo lucky girl..!! Oxox from NH❤
Glad to hear the news but sort of knew it would happen, just a case of hanging in there until it did. Knock to your confidence but not to / for us out here as lots love you Tammy and some you will never meet but have surely touched.
Happy for you that you have received two job offers! They both have advantages and disadvantages. I would lean toward the design job myself since it is more remote and with the bonus trip to Europe, a set schedule, there is presumably less stress being part of the team versus the manager, which may give you more day to day time and energy to enjoy life, paint, be the great mom you are, and plan your future wedding. You may also have the opportunity to move up with the company and become a manager . In the meantime you could use your skills as a manager to improve overall moral or job performance for the team members you will be working with and making it a better work environment for yourself. The non-profit status is good and bad, but may also open future doors and leadership paths with larger companies. No matter the job you choose, think of the travel as "get to" versus "have to". Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
I really think you need something challenging, so the security job. Plus there may be an easier way to increase your pay in time. Once a week going in to work isn't bad.
You have obviously attracted positive opportunities because of who you are and your experience. The questions I would ask myself are: given the length of working life I have left, which company would serve me most viably and stably? Next, what am I looking to contribute to the next company I work for? You seem like a rolling stone, moving forward and able to adapt to the situation. I think you are growth and challenge oriented. You are not sitting around gathering moss. In my opinion, you would highly benefit the solar company. I don’t even think they understand how valuable the depth of your skill sets are! I think you could help them grow and thus make it more viable for salary increases too. It’s wonderful that you like the energy of a potential coworker, but I think a manager position of personnel sounds like a place to go for aggravation and coasting. And you are anything but a coaster. I wish you well identifying what you value most, because your assessments will definitely shape the next several years. Be still and know. ❤
Take both jobs. Since one is online only and flexible you could probably swing both for awhile. After you test the waters you can keep the one you really like and offer to work the other one with less hours to keep it from being too much of a work load. Obviously only one of these companies will be providing health insurance so the other company might be more willing to let you work less hours since they don't have to kick in for health insurance.
YO !!!!....GOD IS GOOD....the designer job sounds like MAYBE less stress but being unprofitable with unhappy employees....those waters can run deep into the non-apparent unknown... The security job.. with both stateside and international travel may hold future opportunities down the line that you can't fathom right now...which you may also find additionally enjoyable 😱👍...just my perspective..enjoy your contemplations...am very happy for you...all those efforts are paying off...jean🌳🛀🌳⚖️
No offense, but as you age, you will want the less hours and more time to enjoy life. If you are stuck behind a desk to long in a day, you will not be getting the most of your time left on this earth. My management job came to an abrupt end in 2018 due to a disability. I am limited what I can do. But I make the best of it and enjoy life more. It was an odd thing to have to retire early. But I realized that my time prior was more taken up by work. Hope that makes sense. Good luck to you.
It would be most reasonable to choose a company that is financially strong, whose stock performance remains relatively stable and does not fluctuate excessively, and which demonstrates greater overall stability. This is crucial to avoid a similar situation arising in the near future. It would be unfortunate if the company were to face mass layoffs again after some time. Second option seems to be much better for you ❤
Managing 12-14 people is always a PITA, but at this point in your career please consider the position. After a short while, especially if the tech space recovers, start sending out resumes after a year or two to get more money -at least back to where you began, but realistically at least 15-20% more than your old job to account for the last few years of inflation.
Pray about it. If I was ask. I would stay with the safety of the job. You have experienced loss of. Job. Do you want to find your self in the same position next year or perhaps the next six months. With a company that is not profiting?
As a woman in tech, PLEASE go be a leader in text. Gosh do we need more women in positions of power. Plus, that's the job that doesn't sound like AI is going to replace it in 2 seconds. And good reviews are everything.
Take the position with the best financial future. You need to earn as much as possible for the next 15 years. 401k/stock options/ ESPP/ etc. "Starting over" at 50+ is not a bad thing when you embrace the opportunity, recognize that you may change industry/skills. OR be rewarded well for doing something easy/familiar because they dont want to do it anymore. Larger company may give you special industry insights enabling you to invest in specific stocks. What is the next position above this one? Where/what will you grow into? Are your superiors older/younger? They may need to bring in new outside talent (YOU) because existing are unwilling/unable to push/move because of existing friendships/loyalty. Perhaps someone in the existing team do not want the travel assignment? YOU will enjoy that opportunity, gain exposure contact to future opportunities? This time of career life, you need to have many industry contacts in order to transition smoothly when necessary. YOU make the decision, you already know what is the "best fit", and makes you enthusiastic.
The only thing you need to do next, is to accept the LORD JESUS CHRIST as your savior. John 3:16 Context 13And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. 14And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: 15That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
I myself would not want the mngmnt. position because if there was a layoff sometimes the higher paid people go first and also the designer position would give you more free time at home. But what do I know?? I am retired. I do know that I was layed off many times from jobs because they were contract jobs. But anyway the painting is beautiful and congrats on your offers! You do what you think is best for you.
Fantastic news!! One moment you have nothing, and the next moment you can choose. C'est La Vie :-) Cheers Tammy 👍 Enjoy !!

Exactly. I prayed for you and forgot about it. Kind of pleaded with God, the Angels to help such a good woman.
