Grew up driving these as a kid… You have outdone yourself Matty, this things insane. Love to see the winner (one of us oldie dreamers) take it to the cape
Your video brought back so many memories for me. My friend's father owned a 1968 FJ55 and he took my friend and I on many camping trips in it in the backwoods of British Columbia, Canada. I graduated from High School in 1972 and went to work for a logging company who used FJ40's to get the crews out into the forest. I always volunteered to be the driver as it was so much fun to test the limits of the doughty little truck,
What a gem! You can’t go wrong with an old Toyota. That drive must've been so worth it. I remember riding as a passenger in my Dad’s Toyota back when he worked for the Sand Mining Company on Stradbroke Island in the early '70s. Those were unforgettable days! You could do an event at Amamoor Pub near the state forest.
Little town you stopped in is called Balranald 115kms east of Hay. You can tell because the street lights are shaped like Emu's necks, pretty cool. Awesome truck!!
Man I've always dreamed about an old Toyota like that, be it a 45 or a 60 there's something so endearing about them, sure a new car would probably be more capable but it just wouldn't make me smile as if I was in highschool again looking at some old fella in a gorgeous old rig go by
My first 4WD was a 1978 FJ 40 and that was nearly 40 years ago would love to get another shorty had so much fun cutting my teeth and learning how to drive the tracks now own a 100 series but still can't beat the early ones
you need to branch out into real 4x4rs. not toyotas.. my first 4x4 was a 78 f100 4x4 v8.. comfy, big, powerfull quiet. easy to work on without jacks..paid 3k for it, sold for 12k.. one truck i have is a 1962 f100 4x4. v8. 9'' swb. all std.. plus a s/duty, 6 cyl tdi. 4.2 with 700nm.. yeeehh toyota. not..
some legands need burying.. i have a 1962 f100 4x4. v8 std. 9''. granny first. swb.. bit more of a legand i think.. when did toyota get a v8.. the 4.5tdi is a chunk..
Awesome Rig Boys. You guys need to come up to the NT for some real offroad tracks, frothies, fishing and some of the best banter in the world. Some true characters up here just like that old cruiser, bring it along boys!
Come do a event at my local, The Long Flat Pub, west of Port Macquarie, camp on the river behind. Pub nearly closed a few years ago needs all the support it can get.
O the sound reminds on my father's Green short well base towing 16 foot Millard caravan on holidays from Liverpool NSW up the inland to Queensland down via coast to Gold Coast back inland over 4 weeks no seats in back just few blankets bung box . My sister and I survived. This be mid 70`s Great looking Rig. Classic iron not plastic. 😊😊😊
Husband bought one 25 years ago our girls named it BRUMBRUM it was turbo diesel. It was replaced with 2005 Hilux 10 years ago now the Hilux is replaced withe a 2015 BT50, now our 2nd daughter wants a BRUMBRUM as her first vehicle, its amazing that she prefers vintage to new 4cylinda cars.
I went to deni Ute muster the past couple of year but I missed out this year. Will you guys be going again in the next couple of years because I would love to meet you there?
Love your work subscription was brought and paid for to the explore dream not long after finding you channel and can't wait to start using the codes to fit out my rig next year on a big savings mission to afford my dream 79
Fantastic video, my dream car is a very nice and tidy 105 series Landcruiser with a 1hdfte engine. I from Katherine NT and I am confined to home due to my 9 different conditions that I have so, that is way I enjoy watching your videos.
Driving one of those in the uk for about half an hour fuelled a whole lifetime of 4x4 enthusiasm. Clearly being British, the majority of of vehicles owned are of course Landrover. I would love an early Cruiser but good luck round here.🙄
Any classic 4wd is awesome mate, even if you need to spend a little bit on it. If you ever have to pick one up from WA then it is the other side of Australia lol. Would love to see you guys over in WA.
Ram eater lol…how sick 79 trailering a 45 Keep it Matty I have a 79 and also owned a 45 n 75 but there is something when you get older about the old girls.. cattle dog sitting passenger side floor air con side flaps
Great looking Ute just becareful advertising that the old own turned back the clock. Pretty sure if not a massive fine it could be jail time. Highly illegal
Ram eater lol…how sick 79 trailering a 45 Keep it Matty I have a 79 and also owned a 45 n 75 but there is something when you get older about the old girls.. cattle dog sitting passenger side floor natural air con side flaps n the looks a man’s car with the Aussie 40 plus years of heritage…

I love the fact ya giving away vehicles but not another cruiser… I know this is probably going to be unpopular but maybe look at doing a pajero
Bloody love adventures like this early mornings with kms to hunt down. And the classic bakery stop with a coffee
45 series Ute.
Another legend kept on the road.

what a find! my dream would be an fj40 hardtop in sandy torque. Imagine that next to the 45!
A Tidy 80 series would be awesome. I'd defiantly buy some tickets for that.
What a superb find. With this Time Machine travelling will get a new perspective. (No Gunshoot PLEASE on the Track's ) Regards from Germany.
Gotta love a good Fj... a wikid soft top FJ40 with a nice lumpy v8 lifted on 35s is a dream car to cruise around on 🤘🤘

With you blokes who would guess. But that's the intriguing reason why we watch every session
Great choice , I'm lucky enough to own an FJ40 with a 350 and an HJ45 with a 2H, both are road legal.

Barn find that someone else has already fully restored to show car standard isn’t a barn find. It’s a resto mod. Sick Ute though.
