Great video! I dropped my remote in water and it stopped working two days later, didn't know I could take it apart to dry the innards. Now it's just like new!

The instructions worked for me. I recommend starting with your plastic spudger (if you have one) on the non-volume-button side. I found it to have fewer plastic snaps that were easy to damage.

Thanks! This worked perfectly. My issue was that the volume was increasing even when I wasn't pressing the volume increase button. It was a little hard to get the cover off but once I did it was easy enough to use a dry qtip to gently wipe off the gunk and reseat everything. Now it's working great!

Great video! This was very helpful in getting my remote taken apart, very clearly shows everything, good camera angle and lighting. I also have a bad volume down button, unfortunately it seems to be an issue with the mechanical/electronic part that the button presses down on, not the easily fixable plastic 😅 Very glad to confirm the issue wasn’t something I could fix myself though hahaha!
In case someone reading wants to figure out if they’re having the same issue as me to decide if they want to go through the trouble of opening up their remote: the button still presses down I guess, just doesn’t make a “click” when pressed, and only sometimes actually gets stuck (making the volume turn all the way down)

Sorry it didn't fix yours but thanks for the kind words.

thank you for the video, it helped me diagnose the issue. I was able to fix my same Ruko voice remote without taking it apart and just manipulating the right side arrow button with a small flat head popping it out of the face plate and trimming a bit of the rubber that had frayed and was blocking both my volume buttons. good as new!

I wish mine had screws. It'd be easier to take apart

I have the opposite problem, volume down is interfering with navigate right.

I just don't understand why they would design it like that.

I think my Roku side volume is stuck too all other buttons work the thing is my down volume works but it won’t let me turn the tv volume up when I turn it up the volume goes down the only way I can get it to go up is to reset it to factory settings which is 20 good enough to hear but still annoying not sure if I’m just going to have to get a new one 😢 cause I have nothing like this to open my remote

You may need a new one. I've had to replace my rokus every 4 years or so.

You needed to remove the 1 or 4 screws in the battery compartment.

There aren't any screws in the battery compartment of my remote.

This should work for that as well. Be careful taking it apart because it's easy to damage.

OMG that lil azz remote needs a tiny flat head screw-driver to take it apart. All I had were too big to work with so I just used the handle of a screwdriver and hit the remote in that area several times and it's working now. It's a dam shame how crappy they make things now days. Roku needs to make a remote that's not Barbie & Ken doll size. If you set it down and go get a snack or blink u eyes the dam thing gets lost 😀
