Tree resins have been a major part of human history and have been used in nearly every culture on Earth for thousands of years. Whether used in perfumery, as incense, medicine, or for more practical uses in crafts, construction, ancient boat building, spiritual practice and insect repellants, tree resins continue to share their many virtues and gifts with humanity.
There are many ways to utilize tree resins and today I want to talk about using them as incense. There’s a certain magic and timelessness when you sit down to a session of burning incense. My T introduced me to the world of fragrant resins, and from that, the way I looked at incense changed forever.

I have lived in the countryside in the last 2 years, I decided to run back to the city a few weeks back, I don't completely regret my decision because it lead me to the realization of how blessed I was to be able to life simply on a farm. 🌈
I say this to say that Your videos really helped in me in my most vulnerable state ,in my state of indecisiveness I didn't know where or what to do. Your videos were a constant reminder of what I am missing out on, you helped see the value in simple rural living🌱

This reminds of my grandma s Chinese medicine shop where there were hundreds of herbs, spices, leaves, roots, stones, dry flowers and even dry insects! They were placed in those little drawers. They are thought to have healing properties. I was sent to her shop for a few summers and I didn’t care enough to learn about them when I was a kid. Now I realised it s a treasure.
Such medicine and magic here... How wonderful that your little girl gets to witness this growing up...

I use a lot of Incense at home to purify... always with open doors, windows...to let the energy pass😊 my favorite are gardenias, roses, violets, honeysuckle, lemon flowers trees, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, rosemary, vanilla, musk, myrrh, amber, acacia resin, sugarcane...thank you for your are beautiful my friend😇🙏

I'm asthmatic so I can't burn incense or even wax melts since they trigger my asthma. But I do sometimes put small pine branches in a vase from my forests walks or put orange peels on the radiators to make my house smell nice.
Something you could try is steaming things while in the shower. Like having a few pieces of eucalyptus hang over your shower head or in a vase in your bathroom nearby. I'm asthmatic too!!

am African and this Blew my mind as well, I would have never thought of foraging for resin from native trees here in Germany. For the last 15 years its been a constant angst on how to keep replenishing my supplies with the various trips back home of myself, friends and family. Definately looking into this now. Thankyou 💐

This video is delightful! Your incense foraging is endearing and I really enjoyed it, I don’t burn incense in my how because my animals are sensitive to smoke, but whenever my next time of burning incense will be (probably in a hike or outdoors in my garden when my pet bird is in a safe room) I’ll have have this very beautiful picture of foraging for precious bits in nature in my mind. So much opportunities connect personally with nature!
Beware though that some animals can be very sensitive to smoke, especially exotic animals (Birds, Reptiles, Rodents) but also cats and dogs can be sensitive, some babies and children can be sensitive too, a herbal pillows or herbal mist is a good idea!
This is one reason why I don’t use smoke incense inside my house, if I do make sure everybody’s safe. I love the idea of making herbal pillows though, do you fill them with a grain or wool too?

So okay. I dont know If it translated wrong but it says about the plant with the red berries that it is "weißdorn" (crataegus )but it is "stechpalme ( ilex aquilforium) thats something different and poisones.
Edit: ok further into the Video it said the correct name.
