The Denon PMA 1500 AE is a great amplifier with enough power. Compared to the AU 11000 A, it certainly sounds a bit harder and more analytical. The Sansui is rounder and warmer in sound. However, the feel of the old Sansui devices is unsurpassed. The processing and the material used are of high quality. By today's standards, such an effort would hardly be affordable.
@@HenrikMattsson Better wait and look for an AU 11000 A or better. The difference to the 9900 is significant. What should / may it cost? If you have space, also look for the combination CA + BA 2000. I also had this and was very satisfied. Corresponds to the AU 11000. You get the combination with a little patience for around 1600-1800 euros and it is worth it. The Sansui Seven and Eight are also great. They look really old school, but they also play very nicely. You can find a seven in another video of mine. Good luck with the search and get in touch if you have a Sansui. Nils

How would you rate the Sansui vs. the Denon amp?

I am happy to have the CA 3000 preamplifier and the BA 3000 power amplifier from Sansui. Then really nothing more
Nils Jahnke thanks for your answer, i’m hopefully buying a Sansui AU-9900A soon. I had a Sansui AU-555A which I liked but somehow I sold it.
