Thanks for the video. Your waterfall videos help me a lot. I find them challenging to photograph, especially here in Ohio because of how limited of perspective you have access to. As to the lens, what would make it unreliable? Does image quality decline at the longer focal lengths?

      Glad they are helpful!
As for the lens, mainly making sure it has a acceptable level of quality. Super zooms, like this 28-400mm often make a compromise in image quality, softness around the edges, etc - especially when compared to my the main lenses I use.
So in this case, just getting more time out in the field with it to be sure I won't regret the decision to be the only lens I take to Arizona in a few weeks.

Thanks for sub! When I'm in the Phoenix area, if I'm not sleeping out at Lost Dutchman State Park, I'm usually staying in the Mesa area!

Instead of leaping, why don't you just use your smartphone to remote control the camera to take the shot?

I find the smartphone app lacking when it comes to a lot of things. It seems to have a mind of its own as to whether it decides it actually wants to connect to the camera or not.
I do have a remote shutter release for occasions where I want a remote trigger for an extended period of time. For that shot, the light was moving fast, so it was only going to be a handful of photos.
