That is absolutely gorgeous! I would have loved to meet the lady who owned it originally =). On my collection journey I transitioned to silver. Not as exciting, but there are some nice cases.
My goodness that is stunning! I have to be honest, I really like the looks of the fancy dial special. As another stated, its great you basically rescued the housing from a gold scraper..it would have been a sin destroying that gorgeous case. Cost is never too much if you are okay with it.
Thank you. That would be one down low and dirty gold scrapper to melt a case like this. But, I’m afraid it happens sometimes. Glad I could save a piece of history. I like the movement and dial it comes with too… But, we’ll see what happens.
Great update on a new find! Can you share with us how you verify this is a gold case. Do you take it to a jeweler? Did the seller have any documents? A tutorial on this topic will be fun! I look forward to your next video.
@@seiche2745 Than you. In regards to this watch, I’m very familiar with the brand and the brand markings to confirm its gold content. I did make a video previously to help with this topic. I may have to make a new version with additional resources. ruclips.net/video/kiSC2_ZEay4/видео.htmlsi=iRiBb-e2KaQT3JU4
Do you think the current movement is original to the case? While the Maximus is special, the current set-up is a really nice coordinated package. Whatever you do with it, nice buy!

That an amazing case, haven’t seen that design before. Had visions of “Game of Thrones’”, rider checking the time then climbing onto their dragon. What year was the movement made?
@@MOTORUNIT6 I was going to tell you about Guinand… but, I just checked their website and it looks like they don’t sell pocket watches anymore. They had a really cool vintage looking yet modern watch. Off the top of my head… Tissot is the only brand I can think of that makes a pretty high quality version.
That case is absolutely incredible!
Thank you. 🙏
That is beautiful. With the price of gold I’m glad that you got it. So many of these have been sold for scrap.
Exactly. Cases are a shrinking commodity.
Great looking case!
Thank you. 🙏

I’m with you there… I’m buying some silver cases to save money to buy more watches. Gold is too expensive.

It is a really nice movement. Maybe I’m all talk and I won’t make the swap… But I probably will. 🤣
What auctions do you suggest to observe to get a nice pocket watches?
eBay is a no-brainer. I also enjoy Jones & Horan auctions.
That’s a remarkable case Patrick. Very nice. Did you see Wristwatch Revival’s pocket watch servicing?
Yes. I watched his last video and loved it. Motivation to get better at repairs myself.

I really like the case the dial and the movement. It’s really nice.
What was weird though is the ugly mug on the video thumb nail.
Haha 🤣 Can’t be more rich than Elon.

I love your Game of Thrones comment. 🤣 Watch was made in 1899.
@@PocketWatchTime Interesting, I was curious what size zero was like. It was being compared to a half dollar coin.

Is there a company out there that makes pocket watches that look vintage, but have modern automatic or hand wound movements??
Please Help!

My weakness is fobs and chains. Just saying. By the way, I still carry a Westclox Scotty.
I do love chains. I need more fobs in my life. 😁
Dont vandalize that watch by marrying it to other movements or parts. Keep it original!
