England was a favorite by pretty much everyone in that match and got completely outplayed by croatia. On the other side, that same Argentina lost to croatia 3-0 and france just barely managed to beat them and Belgium also just barely passed Japan after 2 goals behind while Brazil wasn't very impressive entire tournament. I do agree that both France and Belgium were really strong and played great football, but saying that denmark/russia/england were weaker is a clear understatement of them. The same way you could say that Japan or morroco were weak in 2022 which croatia beat in 1/8 and 3rd place and then you see that Japan beat germany and spain, morroco kicked out Portugal etc....
After the match it was found out that he was injured in 1/4 and it got worse in 1/2. His right thigh was injured, he conceded all goals to his right side in the finals (best example the 4th goal). I agree he shouldn't have played the finals injured but it was a though call after his penalty display in 1/8 and 1/4 to tell him he'll be on the bench in the finals :/
