  • Howdy ya’ll. Today we will take a step back through British History, and focus on an outstanding collection of the earliest photographs from towns, cities, and ancient forts along Britain’s Coastline. We will have photographs here from the mid to late 19th century, all with a fascinating attention to detail.
    Most of the ancient forts and batteries will be labeled, and we will see these seemingly abandoned structures sitting amongst the growing populous of the time. I will leave a link to the full album down below, and I’d love to hear your thoughts or comments on any of the photographs showcased today.
    Topics discussed today;
    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Francis...
    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History...
    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timelin...)

    Have you considered the theory that Star Forts were not actually military structures, but possibly somehow connected to harnessing energy for the society? Would love your thoughts on that. Thanks !

      I used to live in Pensacola FL and visited Ft. Pickens many times growing up, even as a child, I thought the official narrative was hard to believe; then when Levi featured Ft Jefferson, I knew the whole narrative regarding them was extremely flawed.... However, as a student of military tactics and fortifications, the structures definitely provide some serious protection from incoming rounds and offer excellent vantage points to defend and return fire; so I am not sure what to make of that, as far as the narrative pushing the idea that they were military fortifications of some kind? That said, they are beautiful and seem unnecessarily ornate for their officially alleged purpose. Regardless, not sure why the builders would construct Ft. Jefferson (or whatever it was originally called when constructed) 70 miles off-shore if it were a power plant of some kind? But the controllers currently put wind farms out in the ocean, so who knows?

    As someone who was born ans raised in Brighton and now live in Worthing i will admit i took for granted the coast and the beach for alot of my life as it was just there and i went often as a kid. As ive gotten older though ive come to appreciate it much more and feel very lucky to have lived and be living so close to the shoreline, esspecially in the summer but all year round its a blessing really. Great collection of photos Jared! And thanks for the video

    If you slightly cross your eyes in those stereo scopic photos and focus in on the third image your eyes create in the middle, you will see the main image in 3d. No special glasses or be headset needed.
    Pause the video on the image, cross your eyes slightly creating a third image in the middle, there’s a sweet spot and your eyes lock in. Super cool!

    Vanilla skies and very few people, if any. Though there must be a few people, judging from the boats and ships on the water? Thanks Jarid.

      Yes, it looks forlorn, hardly any people, virtually no vegetation, I agree, it's after the last reset.....many ruins and it seems abandoned buildings....lifeless.....I felt very sad looking at these images.....it was like there was no heart and soul in them.

    Jarid, please contact me concerning some structures in Alabama. 1) Greek architecture in Alabama that was supposedly built in the 19th century, then destroyed years after. 2) World Fair statue that was supposedly brought here, then dismantled and left to ruin until recently 3) Beautiful Italian metal workings and homes that were destroyed 4) pictures of mounds on my family's land that were dug and hauled away by the Smithsonian Institute. A railroad was extended out to the site specifically to haul the artifacts away. 5) giant abandoned underground tunnels beneath Birmingham

    I was following your video and locating the “Forts” on my ipad to have a look at today’s view. I noticed they are all just parts of Star Forts. Citadels were the centers of Star Forts according to the dictionary. There are many pic titles with the word citadel in them.

    Before I comment I just want to say that I love your work! Having gotten that out of the way, I'm not understanding the source of the titles/comments on many/most of these photos/images. Francis Frith was English, these photos are of England, but the written notes/explanations on most images are in French? Je ne comprends pas?

    The absence of trees and foliage in these photos is striking. This is the world before electrification, when burning wood is what kept you alive.

    Im interested in the Islamic style pier at 8:24, with octagons and minarets/domes. There were a few of them in Britain and around the world.

    Interesting In the pictures everything is deserted with no trees the signs that the reset happened not long ago before the 1800.

    "Nothing new under the sun". There's so much proof nowadays that things like zeppelins were somehow airbrushed out of the old world pictures. Imagine if this guy was just an old world "graphic artist" and he just produced or edited fantastic photos. Like the Elon Musk of photography in those days.
