Brilliant breakdown. This fight is a tough one to pick for me. Both guys are elite level. If I had to make a pick today, I would pick O'Malley by TKO. He's a sniper. If Merab gives him an opening, as he often does, that could be the beginning of the end. I'm really looking forward to this one. I hope it goes on for at least 2 rounds, because this is going to be entertaining.
Yan striking helped him with takedowns…totally different from Merab .. and if u watch closely Sean landed soft af when Yan “slammed” him even Aljo said the same thing 🤷🏾♂️! But yea Suga 2nd or 3rd Ko don’t be shocked if he submits Merab
I think when it comes to their strong suits yk. Omalley is going to have better grappling than ppl think but I don't think merabs striking is that much better than what people think.
if merab only shoots takedowns with no follow up he will get caught and lose. if he actually keeps sean on the ground and goes for submission he may win it .
I love these breakdowns though I love how you do them they're really in depth. It's a shame most fans will not want to watch these long videos, not even just in mma but short form content is taking over everything I appreciate the depth you go in. I am from Maine and lots of family in lowell so its also great to listen to someone from my region instead of all the brits.
Thank you for this. Yeah short form content is popular, but I think some fans will always want more deep analysis of things. As long as they are entertained. Oh that's cool, why the British slander though 😂
I hear alot of people in MMA media talking like O'malley just gonna walk through Merab. No doubt O'malley is a great fighter but Merab is going to be a TOUGH night out. I wouldn't sleep on Merab...
Sean o malleys struggles will be his footwork along the cage. He crosses his feet a lot and gets taken down. If you look at how sean trains his teeps, they aren’t strong and you see them get defended easy and even has lost balance before throwing them. His cardio seemed good against Chito because there was no threat of a takedown. Merabs shot he’s been most hit by are hooks. O malley rarely throws hooks and even when he does, they aren’t that strong.
Merab is probably gonna give Sean a few chances to catch him in the first 2 rounds. But as soon as Sean starts slowing down, it’s going to turn into a downward spiral in favor of Merab
Also think somewhere in that 5 rounds Sean is going to find the KO. Beside Sean's massive reach advantage, his striking & fight IQ should be the difference & like you said, Sean's wrestling and/or take down defence should be better as he obviously trained for and knows exactly what Merab is bringing. But not impossible that Merab could squeeze in a 48-47 decision if O'Malley fail to land that killer shot. Excited for this fight! Great breakdown!
@@nickk7425 I think it’s close for sure, Merab has more professional fights and combat experience. The reason I went with O’Malley is because I believe he’s been in bigger fights. He has more championship experience. Merab has never been the main event of a PPV while O’Malley has fought in big events most of his career. I understand though.
I have sean, i think this matchup is gifted to him. Or merab manages to hold him down for either the whole fight or long enough to get the split or unanimous
I think the difference between petr grappling with like aljo or merab he has the tight boxing style to get in close to actually make those shots happen. I think aljo and merab lack that striking iq in comparison to petr which in turn means that when they try the same method there are more openings to punish those mistakes
Word of advice: don’t make a prediction video where you say multiple times that you’re not going to give your opinion or prediction. People clicked to see it.
Well to me this isn't a prediction video it's a fight breakdown. I do give an early prediction. I'm just prefacing that my early pick isn't official just in case I change my mind.

How do you give experience to O'malley?? Merab has beat Aldo, Cejudo, Yan. Compare that to who who o'malley has fought...

I dont know bryce i just dont see a way for merab to beat O'Malley in this fight
Suga does not have more experience. Merab has a better resume all things considered.
