I like these videos a lot as a budget player who wants to make sure I know what I want to play in the coming months. I've already been proxying shanks and playing lots of new leaders in 08/09, and seeing these tournament results with some spicy lists really help. Thank you. 😌

I ran the Enel list and I did really well into my counters (Bonney was still terrible) but I still lost. Doffy was still a pretty solid win in my favor. Olin did come up clutch in life a couple times, but still no wins because of it. Fun list for sure. Olin is nice to pitch for Nami effect too.
I'm planning on playing PCP once 09 hits here but you make a very good point about the importance of turn orders. I do wonder what makes Doffy more popular if both are similar, is it just the pure aggression you get, or does PCP have something else that makes people take Doffy instead?
I actually have been making a fun little Yellow LinLin deck and that Wano Olin from the Enel deck is the only LinLin character I run 4 of lol. It's trigger is extremely useful for lethal believe it or not.

Just can't be a 4-life leader with hyper aggro decks like Doffy being what you're most definitely going to face. It's not that mono leaders are that much better, it's that the extra life turns out to be quite the difference maker in surviving that extra little bit you might need to turn things around. Having a deck that stares at you with 20c on board t3 wasn't a good idea, I thought we learned that from Law :X
Promo cards in and of themselves not a bad thing. Them being playable is lol. Bandai is usually good about making cool art promos that no one will play but you CAN if it want. They dropped the ball this time.

I agree with the fact that they decided to print a doffy counter just to make him less ban worthy, but I also think they didn't manage to find a spot in a regular set to print them. if you think about it, op10 is big on dressrosa for blue, so having three different super rares takes away the focus from the theme
Hey, just in case you see this, I wonder if you could shed any light on what has led Doffy players to opt for the 2k Counter Law as opposed to another 5k body? My understanding was that this card was replaced after Buggy was released because having a 4k body is not worth it, so I'm curious what has led to this change. Thank you for the video!
Similar to how the Teach + 1000counter Law loop let's you bounce a 4 cost or less and hit for 7000 for 0 hand cost, this law let's you hit for 7000 and force the opponent to trash a card for 0 hand cost. I run it at 2 currently, but there may be more I don't know about the card for it to be run at 4
What is your take on leader Boa? I don't really see many Boa players, but I've been very consistent with it, winning multiple local tournaments with mostly Lucci and BY Luffy players. I run a bounce heavy control list
Even if you explained the reasons, it's still so weird that bonney didn't perform, 8c kid being probably the worst nightmare for blue doffy. But I see bonney player didn't encounter many of them, it was very unlucky to lose by turn 2.
It's less necessary in 09 but it's really, really good still. There's a reason all the lists run it. I hope bandai does a second print run of EB01 or something for all the players that missed out on the big cards in it
I have a question, how is shanks favorable against teach? Is the rush version better than the control one? I honestly feel that is a unwinnable matchup if you dont play roger
Could you help me understand why so many doflamingo lists are running the op07 2k counter law? Lots of people seem to prefer the mihawk and croc because they are 5k bodies. When/in what matchups is the hand destruction helpful?
Its just because they prefer bouncing the 2k counter in hand. His 2nd effect is irrilevant. But i still do prefer old croc, its a 5k body. Mihawk is mandatory
I would personally wait for op09 because Gum Gum Giant is so important, but I see some people having success with it in op08.5 so really just play what feels most comfortable
The enel probably stalled out and only swung at board, using Gedatsu, Nami, and Yamato to control board. I know because I played against one and it was annoying. Like playing against Nami but now you gotta deal with a bunch of 9-10 drops late game with zero cards in hand and not enough swings to go for game.
He's still single-handedly the cause of 0 dual leaders being played (apart from BY, for obvious reasons), gatekeeping a huge amount of decks that Lucci doesn't. And, Lucci, by default, has a lot of non-games where you mill 3-4 geckos and cry in the corner.

Being a 4 life leader just turns out to suck. BY Luffy gets around it with all his healing. Otherwise, the other 14 decks were mono color.

How vital is it Mr2 to P Luffy? I was considering it as my tier 1-1.5 deck for this format but I really don't want to drop $160 on a playset.
