Hi, I just bought an older 1501D MTX amp. Powers on but clips like crazy when adjusting the gain. I am using an MTX 9500 dvc sub. So it’ll handle the amp. Very little sound comes out. But the seller claims I’m hooking it up wrong. I’ve tried multiple configurations to hook up sub. I know I’m booking it up right, I feel there should be some kind of decent bass coming from the sub. Any ideas? Thank you
It will put out 1500 watts rms at 54 volts. Use a 50hrtz test tone and a digital multi meter set it to ac voltage and set your eq to flat put all your bass / terible etc. To 0. I have this amplifier tuned correctly and it pushes my mtx 9500 15 inch subwoofer to its maximum performance!! Good luck 👍
Does that capacitor have the same tune as the others, cause if not that repair will have a short life, it would be better to just change all of them, cheap fix
There's also a point where budget becomes a factor so you to work within your means as well. Keep this in mind. Not everyone wants a $500 repair from a technician. There are certain bare-minimum boundaries i don't cheat/cross such as matching all FETs. But matching caps aren't that important especially if they test fine. but if they want to pay more? Sure i will change them all.
Dude you can't just run it like that and call it good. You have to put a good load on it also. Have to run it at the least half output to test more. Some issues do not show till ran harder or warmer up or even sees a little vibration on it. I hate seeing repairs done like this. A tiny little wire in power and ground then just signal played on it not even pulling 5 amps. Like come on

nice work! i have some work i need help with. any time?
I have one of these that needs repair. Would you be interested in getting it going for me?
Like others, I wanna know, what’s the capacitor and where would you recommend we found that to check our broken amps?
Id have to look back and see... its been awhile.
I have the same capacitor that is blown out would you be interested in fixing it?
Power supply gate resistor valve ?
It's been a while since I've worked on one but I'm going to say 47 ohms. But it also might be 22 ohms
Is 1000 rms or 1500 rms ??

I have the same amp in protect mode. Interested in fixing it?
Not accepting outside work atm due to the semiconductor shortage, and lack of free time. Maybe in the future though.

Could it possibly be the capacitor shorted and blew the supply?
Its possible, but the capacitor did not measure shorted.
Where did u get the caps? I have same amp with 5 bad ones can’t find them
