That was very helpful as I have 2 dogs that pull bad (anti-pull harness is useless) so I might need to get them both with a power loop option to help ease them into new places
Hey Brian I don’t know if you will see this video but I have a Doberman that has severe spear toon anxiety and I’m trying to get him used to his crate (he is going to be 2 years old on Halloween). I have fed him in the cage, praises him for wanting to be in the cage when he wants to relax, he sleeps in the cage but when it comes time for me to leave him the cage and I’m not there he completely freaks. I get back home to a puddle of his drool from all the barking and the cage door bars are bending from him biting. What do you advice I can do for this because I don’t want him getting hurt trying to break through the metal bars? Also I don’t know if this helps but based off your vocabulary he is a high prey drive, low defense and high flight dog. Thank you for any feedback and I love the videos
Hi Daniel, Where do you live? You’re doing some good things with him. Have you tried using a Thunder shirt with him? You would put it on him when he is calm not when you’re putting him in the crate. What kind of mental and physical exercise are you giving him. Does he sleep in the crate at night?
@@thebalanceddog4752 hey I’m based out of Miami. I wouldn’t mind trying it but my dog goes into like a different mindset and he barks and actually tries to bite and scratch through the cage. Would you recommend using the e-collar or bark collar so he associates those behaviors as not good. And I take him on daily walks and work on obedience with a ball and he runs for it or finds it after following my commands. Also he does sleep at night in his crate with the door closed. It’s just when I’m not in his eye view he will go crazy.
Is the diameter of the slip leash make a difference 🤔 Not that I even had it on her yet because she freaked out with the first attempt and now just barks at me when I attempt to put it on. Any advice on this please.
Hi Alan, I would just put the lead on her and let her drag it around. Calmly pick her up place her in your lap and just quietly put it on and place her on the ground. Don’t talk to her, just let her drag it around.
I’ve introduced slip leads to 10 week old puppies. You just need to go slow in teaching them how to respond to the leash pressure. Some can kind of freak out when they feel the pressure but with some puppies you can lure them through that with food.
@@thebalanceddog4752 okay ty she walks on regular leash I mean for 10 weeks old not the best but she will follow me anywhere. She is food motivated so I will give a try and of course go slow. Thank you.
This was super helpful! Thank you 😊

I have a Brian question about how young is to use a slip leash for training to heal among other training.
