Very good Barry. I like the analogy of the toe meeting the leg. For decades I have done energy work for what is called the "mental body", and this is the analogy I tell them at the end of the session when ask if their body diss-ease will go away.
"See, your body is not your mind. Imagine your body as a beautiful car. This car has an integrated computer with programs installed to keep it ready for you to get behind the wheel and drive away and, I just cleaned and harmonized your mind, but you have to allow your body to heal itself because it is programmed to do so".
There's more, but it's my basic analogy.
Anyway, I have found that the body has a Finite Mind connected to the Mind of Earth, and the Soul is part of the Infinite Mind connected to the All, the Absolute.

Could it be possible that stubbing my toe is an example of specification of the human body part? So instead of separating it from our body, verbally, maybe uts a specific locating of our body that is sending the pain signals and therefore being identified out loud?

Hi! I'm currently working on putting up videos specific to the PHI 101 class I teach, and we don't really get to 20th Century Philosophy. It's really a groundwork, basic vocab, issues, and players course. At some point in the future I hope to have the time to be more expansive. So thanks for the question and I'll put it on the list for future videos.

Religion? Might as well call them the same thing. Philosophy is the anti-thesis that deconstructed the process. The interaction between the two is philosophical anthropology that defined the history of philosophy up until the 20th century. No, you can't do that. They tried to merge and it collapsed.

To put it simply, in recent decades, those persons who exhibit leftist traits such as egalitarianism, feminism, gynocentrism, socialism, multiculturalism, transvestism, homosexuality, perverse morality, and laziness, have been reproducing at rates far exceeding the previous norm, leading to an explosion of insane, narcissistic SOCIOPATHS in (mostly) Western societies.

I believe the mind is a powerful portal of human being to communicate with the spirit world the mind is the most powerful tool in the human I believe it is like a link or a should I say bluetooth which we use to connect deeply with our chosen passion in life . It is also the place where we discover who we are and our pursose in life . The first time I encountered the holy spirit was in my mind and that's when I discovered this truth.

      Hi Hugo!
Thanks for watching and commenting. Given the very brief nature of these videos, I'm always struggling with what's most important. I tend to deal with Idealism under Ontology, but of course, it carries over into Phi of Mind (as all such theories rest on ontological assumptions).
That's probably not a great response, but it's the best I've got for now! ;-)

Minds are different, not all function the same. We aren't sure how they work, but if they supervene on each other then you can control each other. That's the debate. Then we will do an investigation, then proof it.

      Hi Adam!
Thanks for the comment. There are a great many complex and interesting questions that fall into the category of the "Philosophy of Mind". I'm just trying to lay out some of the most basic ones to help folks enter the conversation. I hope my video didn't come across as asserting "the" questions, or "the" answers in an absolute way.

Where does token physicalism fit in here?

    • @ALittleBitofPhilosophy
      @ALittleBitofPhilosophy  Год назад

      Hi Dnya!
I would characterize Token Physicalism as a sub-type of Reductivism. The theory was put forward by Donald Davidson in an essay, "Mental Events" (available in "Actions and Events" from Clarendon Press) published in the '70s. The main difference between his view and standard Physicalism is that his view holds that while physical in nature, mental events aren't fully explainable in neuro-physiological models.

Well you have to break your mind before you can be the real Philosopher, or els you will only be just ordinary person using this information that you never seen it if it true...
I read so much shit, but when I see the information in front of my eye in 5sec I can answer how that works without even seeing what is inside, and that is Logical question and Answer
You logically ask question in form of **Information** and Answer is **What is in front of you**, that will not give you any seance if your not philosopher... xD
