Has anyone ever gone through some of the changes to Ye songs and realized how drastic the same song can change? That’s a very obvious statement, but my point being, this version feels like the end to a story. Like roll credits. Shows over. There’s a certain acceptance that resonates through the tone of this version. The final version feels like the climactic low to the story. So hopeless. While most of the lyrics are the same, the tone is completely different. The acceptance that ye spits on the final version sounds like he’s trying to convince himself that he believes those things. Some People hate leaks, but I absolutely love hearing this stuff.
this a really really cool outlook because on ATL LP1 it was the final song on the tracklist. fast forward to the album release and it's the first song. it's a perfect thesis for being shielded by yourself and others and with the rising action being the Jesus Lord Larry Hoover JR voicemail of being literally jailed and mentally jailed. it works perfectly as an intro and a conclusion.
I believe he produces the same song 4+ different times to find a unique style to it that fits the narrative, this obviously seem like an iteration that didn't fit the narrative so he reproduced it to be the reverse of that. Topped it off with some Jay Z
Final version of jail is a masterpiece. I'm glad he chiseled it down so thoroughly. If another AAA pop artist got a hold of jail it would go #1, perfect record.
@@faustin1022 you can, but I don't get why you would come back to this one over the other one at all. That's like choosing to live in a half built house over a finished one
@@milkify5102 there’s difference between just a demo, and og version. this is clearly not just a demo, but different version. it sounds differently, vocal and lyrics are different. because it’s not donda song. some of these different versions are too good. i usually download these and upload to my spotify playlist to listen
actually i think that he freestyled everything, chopped off the worst part and assembled the best one, and then some master di engineer improved the quality
SOTH isn't real spread the word lol Edit: Okay as of now it seems unclear whether SOTH was a real album concept/title or not. Until things get confirmed for sure I'm going to label these leaks as Donda 2021 instead of SOTH Edit Again: I don't fucking know anymore just believe what you want ig lol
There is a much longer mumble jail freestyle on the tracker i believe its damn near 20 minutes long Edit: its not actually available its just somewhere out there someone has it tho
2:14 me singing Jail in the shower

Which is pretty funny because Jail on donda is definitely an opening statment

Have y’all heard jail (June demo)
this freestyle to a grammy, no one competes w ye
crazy to think about
f grammy though, that shjt is outdated
micheal jackson said songs write themselves this is what he meant
So this is how he found the jail hook🔥🔥🔥🔥
This is really how songs get made and it’s beautiful
This sounds very raw, the final version definitely pulled the whole thing together. Jail is best on donda and top 20 ye imo.
to me Come To Life is da best on Donda, but Jail is up there fs
@@jmo2137 respectable

@@virific76 one of my favorite Ye tracks of all time

Cant’t stop listening to this for some reason
i can absolutely hear prince being on this version of the instrumental
It’s cool seeing some og Kanye songs after listening to finished versions for so long

bro i looooove the bass and the drums on this
this is super raw but really good, gives off helmet by steve lacy vibes to me!!

This better not get taken down bro
Why? I mean seeing this is cool and all but if you listen to this over the real version you're just trying to be different

@@faustin1022 i know what a demo is lmao. All im saying is ts is ass compared to the real stuff
I wonder if the concept of the song was already thought up or if he did it on the fly, considering the mumble at the start
he did it on the fly and builds around it

The instrumental sounds like a Paul McCartney song
Apparently Prince gave this song to Kanye.

did todd rundgren contribute to this song in any way? ik he was involved in donda era
Prince gave him this song.
Guys I think he’s going to jail
can someone find the instrumental for this please😭😭😭
it samples Sleep (Fingers' Lullaby) by The Boomtown Rats if that helps at all

So what did ye mean when he went on drink champs and said Prince gave him Jail?
Damn wtf Ye
