Kathmandu is the largest municipality and the capital of Nepal. It's also the only city in the country with the Mahanagar (Metropolitan City) municipal status. Kathmandu has a population of 985,000 in 2019.

That's where I referred to. I just checked again. There are plenty of websites showing ranges between 1-3 million.
@@AjayShokeen there are 6 metropolitans(kathmandu, bharatpur, birgunj, biratnagar, pokhara and lalitpur) and 10 sub-metros in Nepal.
