Passacaglia Handel/Halvorsen Cover | 4 hand piano arrangement

Arrangement for piano duet by Donna Mitchell
I took a few liberties with this to make it work and sound okay for 2 people to play it. Of course it would sound best with one person playing all the notes, but the idea was to make it fun and accessible for early grade students to play. The biggest challenge would be to keep the tempo consistent ( I recommend a metronome for practicing together at a slow speed and then increase later. This was performed at a slower speed of M.M. 120 but could go faster depending on the student. One piano or 2 pianos could work for this arrangement and it might be fun to use keyboards with a different sound setting, like harpsichord. Very, very nice. I vote for more of your four hands performances. I know it's probably super difficult to record it and play it again while recording at the same tempo. Very creative.

I play that same song with two hands, the left hand has to stretch over three octaves. But it’s a rhythm that repeats itself just changes where you start. But that repeates itself the entire song. Just play the first “a” section of the left hand on repeat for hours. That’s how I got the left hand down. The right hand is super easy if you can stretch one note over the octave.
Over all sound 10/10. The most impressive part of that is staying on tempo. Otherwise the song is pretty basic when it comes to the notes and cords.

Yes, I also play this one with just two hands and yes that is a stretch for the left hand first note of each measure jumping to next note. It is enjoyable to learn and play. This is for students who want to experience the beautiful piece but hands are small or they need more time to develop their skills and duets are just fun!
