UPDATE: The complexion balm and radiant matte powder are both ok. Nothing special, nothing great. The complexion balm has that slight white cast to it which isn't ideal and the wear time wasn't great either. I could see it fading around my nose and between my brows after about 4-5 hours of wear. It didn't look bad, but definitely fading. And the radiant matte powder just isn't special. It wasn't any better than most of the powders in my collection. I do like the radiant glow highlighter. I like the sheen and the shade.
the scent of Hermes make up products are made for the make up products not an existing perfume. it's made by Christine Nagel. hermes' perfumer since 2014. she use to work for jo malone before hermes. sorry if my English is weird. i enjoy your videos from japan!
Hi Michele! I absolutely love this Hermes Balm! When I did my review I wore it for pass 9 hours and my makeup looked pretty flawless. I hope you are enjoying it too, as it looks good on your skin. Have a beautiful weekend! 💖😘
The Plein Air co.or was too light or too ashy, it's hard to find the right shade of anything, but that seems to be the key. Your skin is usually beautiful with most skin tints, this was ashy for sure! I am glad you tried it for me.
Hey Michele 💖💜 I don’t mind tubes but maybe include a key to help squeeze out the product? I heard someone say that because it’s a mineral sunscreen that you should go up a shade or two because of the white base of mineral sunscreen. I thought that was good advice. I’m happy that it’s a mineral based sunscreen, my skin doc wants me to use mineral sunscreen mainly. I wasn’t interested in this but now that I know it’s a mineral sunscreen I’m far more interested. That and your review!
I actually do like this for the everyday, out the door, easy makeup day. I'm medium to tan skin tone and am happy to finally have a tinted sunscreen that suits my skin color and actually provides a little coverage. I will need a darker shade for summer though. It's lighter than I expected too.
I actually appreciate the simplified packaging here. I always hate luxury brands' "over-package + cut down the actual product + charge a lot more + create abundant waste" scheme just because you want to 'look' expensive.
The reason people buy luxury makeup IS because of the luxe packaging, there are plenty of good drugstore products and if they pay way more for a foundation, is because want to experience buying something visually special. It makes no sense to purchase a "luxury" product and get drugstore packaging, that's pure rip off and Hermes can get away with this because of their name. As you can read in the pinned comment, Michelle says there is nothing special about those products so no, Hermes isn't worried about the environment, is just about PROFIT!
@@mijnbook I left my comment before that pinned comment, so I am not advocating for Hermes and all I was saying is "the packaging would not turn me off as the sole reason". There are top tier brands that use moderate and tasteful packaging on top of quality products to provide a nice premium experience (with good customer service attitude). I don't see why there can't be a middle ground between extravagance and 'Drugstore'. And can we stop the 'clean makeup' catch phrase when they (like Milk) send PR package the size of a shoebox for one mascara? LOL
Hi! I would love a video on blushes. Your favorites, the not-so great ones, formulas-powder, gel, crème, etc. it’s the one area I’m looking for suggestions 💕
I feel like you’re over Hermes beauty. 😜 What’s your favourite tinted moisturizer with SPF? Is it that Nars you took to NYC? I need a new one and I cannot find the right one.
I couldn't agree more with your review. The complexion balm is a good product but I definitely expect more from Hermes. I also have the shade 20 and it matches my skin tone great. Initially I was going to purchase 10 but then I saw it has mineral sunscreen and that's why I decided to go a shade darker. Great review 😘😘😘❤
I so appreciate a tinted mineral sunscreen, but the great majority are too dark. I've wanted to try the new Tatcha, now older Drmtlgy and Colorescience, but I decided to go no buy - I have many to work through, and I don't want them to go bad!
With a brand such as Hermes, I expect more than a squeezy tube. Apart from looking/feeling cheap, it is not the best to recycle - if it is indeed a recyclable material. Bottles are far more elegant to look at and to hold AND, more importantly, are easily recycled. The powder are nice though. Much love 💞
Another home run video! 😁 I agree with you Michele on the packaging. In my opinion the packaging looks cheap, and at that price point, the balm should be in glass with a pump. Most brands, even in drug stores, are using glass. Plastic is so bad for the environment and our bodies as well.
I think the reason Plein Air Complexion Balm is in tube packaging is its essentially a tinted moisturizer. Other similarly expensive brands release their tinted moisturizers in tubes too which makes me think maybe it's an ingredients thing, like maybe it wouldn't be stable in glass? When Hermès releases a foundation someday it will probably be in a fancy bottle too.
You should try Decorté's AQMW Meliority foundation for us and tell me what you think? I'm very curious about it. It's on the Everglow Cosmetics website. The lipsticks, blushes, eyeshadows and mascara look pretty too.
I think mineral, not toxic and not environmentally damaging, sunscreen is true luxury, so happy that Hermes went with that. I don’t mind the understated simple packaging. My question would be whether they are successfully managing some of the cons we know physical sunscreen has in terms of application and wear. Looks like they had not done a bad job? And it is cheaper than Sisley. Ready to try it on.
Ooh I was looking forward to your thoughts on the Hermes balm, and watching this, I think you mirrored and echoed my own thoughts. I'd like to try some before I purchase but might just take the plunge. I wasn't impressed with the Hermes hand cream. I love its fragrance (light sandalwood, lovely) but it frequently pills and balls, and it's nothing special. Feels a bit to silicone-y for me too. It pales in comparison to L'Occitane, Aesop, and so many others. Still, I'm intrigued.
I thought Hermès was really going to bring quality after seeing and playing with the lipsticks but everything they have released since has been cheap and lackluster. It doesn’t feel like Hermès is truly serious about their makeup line…it just feels like a cash grab. I’m not interested anymore…thank you so much for your review. ❤️❤️❤️
Ditto to your comment!! I couldn't agree more. All of the products are mediocre at best. I thought the same this since seeing the blushes last year; cash grab. They know people will buy things sight unseen so their investment is moderate at best. Why spend $79 for Hermès blush when you can get good, thought out, innovative products from other luxury brands. Why is you balm using cheaper sunscreen that leaves a cast? 🤔😒😬
When you just applied the balm on the cheek, I was thinking it looks exactly like my ZO health primer spf)) really surprises by this balm. Love their lipsticks. Thank you, Michele!
Thank you so much for the review! So helpful. I have a question - what brush are you using to apply the cream? I also need a recommendation for a bronzer brush. Thank you again!
Hi Michele. Radiant Matte sounds like an oxymoron! Pick a lane, LOL. The Balm looks so nice on you, but I can't believe it's in a plastic squeeze tube. Love the highlighter. Subtle is right up my alley. Very pretty, Michele. Enjoy your weekend❣❤ In PA, it's snowing/icing with blustery wind. You're lucky to be back in Vegas! I know, you love cold weather, but I'm definitely not a fan.🥶❄🌬🌨
I always like your makeup better without powder. Your skin is so flawless and beautiful. If I had your skin, I wouldn’t spoil it, or hide it with powders.
Nothing beats Chanel's N°1 foundation for foundation releases for this year really. I haven't been impressed with any of the other releases this year. I'm not impressed with this Hermés foundation at all! The highlighter is nice, though.
I went to the Hermes Counter here in Luxemburg to try it. I even got the lady to call me as soon as it comes in, so i could have it asap. & my reaction was "🤨😬🙄🤔🥴😵🤯😤🥺😭🙂 thank you so much for letting me try it" as I gently exited the store 😋😅 it was super disappointing. Like the sisley Phyto teint nude...I do not see the point of this when I can slap some Hourglass Veil & somehow look more blurred/perfected...also a plastic bottle for that Price? NO, absolutely Not 🥺🤭😊✌🏻 I'm sure some will like the Hermes foundation but it's such a sad miss for me....
This packaging makes me curious to see what their story is about it. Everything they do is done with utmost quality. Now I’m curious enough to go on their site to see what they say about it. If there is no reasoning for this packaging then it would be disappointing.
Think this release is a pass for me... think it looked beautiful on you but there is just so much other foundations and powders on the market that are less money, better packaging and equal or better product....
Not impressed at all. I don’t know if it’s just me but I thought the balm had a white cast and made you look very flat. Haven’t been impressed with any of Hermes makeup products
This sounds more like a tinted sunscreen than foundation. In a plastic tube to go in your beach bag? Reapplied every two hours? When will brands realise we don't WANT fragrance in our products?
Thanks Michele … looks like I can pass since I have Supergoop Glow and some other options. I do love the lipsticks, nail polishes and blushes but this selection - yawn

I really like the radiant matte pressed powder. It blurs pores and makes my 57 year young face look smooth.
I think this is the best foundation for every day you have ever used

Agreed as long as the plastic is recyclable. I still prefer glass which is endlessly recyclable albeit heavier.
@@donoghsgirl yet you also need to take into account the extra weight in shipping too causes environmental impact

I think with the packaging they’re doing
a no-frills/clinical look similar to other trusted French skincare brands like Caudalie or Avene Thermale.
I just saw this at BG and immediately went to search your page. I knew you'd have a review! Thank you 😊

Great review❤I actually appreciate Hermes using physical sunscreen and will try the product for that reason
Hi Michelle, I wonder if you put on any skin care before the Hermès balm?
I so appreciate a tinted mineral sunscreen, but the great majority are too dark. I've wanted to try the new Tatcha, now older Drmtlgy and Colorescience, but I decided to go no buy - I have many to work through, and I don't want them to go bad!

I definitely saw the cast after you powdered especially under the cheek bone. It looks ok but not your best look

Michele, hope you can pick up Dries Van Noten lipsticks for a review! Would love to hear your thoughts on them!
I love all the makeup you do just wish I could buy them all lol this looks amazing!💗
Do you still offer a discount code with Nap? I see the sweater and after purchasing the black one I’m thinking this beige is nice too.
