Thanks for your transparency !! I'm a ceramicist/illustrator in toronto right now and have been full time since 2018, but it's really hard right now so I'm also pivoting to finding part-time/full time work as well. It's hard to stay creative and motivated when finances are always an open tab in the brain for sure :')
It’s so interesting to hear this point of view for your job situation, thank you for sharing! I work a full time office job and do art on the side and have constantly struggled not knowing which option I would prefer. Thank you for everything you’ve created and put out into the world 💛✨
Thanks so much for this video- I’m excited to see what you do about this job and I’m excited that you’re excited! I love watching and seeing your work, thanks for all you share. Ps, late- but happy birthday Taylor!🎉🎂
I also am moving on to a 9-5 this year, after running my art business since 2018. I did ok financially, but the stress of doing it all on my own and being at the whim of things completely outside my control is not even close to worth it to me anymore. My mental health has improved dramatically since deciding to quit, even though I know it will still be hard doing something else, I'm so ready.
totally! I feel like a huge part of switching things up is also dealing with all the creative burnout, so I'm hoping the change improves my mental health too. I'm so happy it's been a good transition for you!
The need to make money is legit, especially as we get older and start realizing we don't have any retirement savings (this is me lol). I totally understand the pursuit of experimental things when you're young. I did the same in my 20s. I could have made a lot more if I worked the job I do now but tbh I probably wouldn't have appreciated it and I wouldn't trade that experience for anything either.
I would love to know where that tie dye long sleeve tee is from it’s so cute!! You always have the best merch on. Also love watching your videos, they are always to tranquil ❤
love that you realized that for yourself too and made moves! I hope doing art on the side feels good and brings even more passion back into your practice again 🥰

I feel you! proud of us for doing this for so long and hope you find something that works for you going forward! :-)

I 100% agree! I don't regret the path I chose because I learned so much along the way. and at least I can say I tried it! 😂

Thank you for your vlog angel. I'm in the same situation ( I'm a painter) and going back to a full-time 9/5, and I'll be doing my art on the side ❤
