I am in London to visit the London Art Fair and discover this city for the first time. I met an artist RUclipsr Rob Dunt from ArtTop10. He showed me around the fair and discussed selling art on your own as an artist and the glass ceilings in the art world.

Awesome video. Great the way you put it together. In some videos I've seen there is no problem to move artwork.
Yeah you can still ship the works. It’s just the cost increased compared pre-Brexit and post-Brexit. For some larger (but inexpensive) works it doesn’t make much sense to ship it to continental Europe.
This guy speaks utter truth from pained experience of the art world. It's a goddamn struggle. i feel so so sorry for all of those students studying degrees etc and paying fortunes thinking there is something amazing to come because the art world is secret to a few and everyone else gets ignored talent or not. It's so brutal and pathetic actually.

Holy Art Gallery is a bit far from centre London. I will see if I travel to that area!

Please what would you do if you live in a country who does not value art. They do not see art as job but.
13:00 no wonder the UK is second for the art market only to the US having thousands of galleries. The UK has hundreds, plenty for the land area. No red tape and business is great. Red tape and unemployment problems.
Yeah, they promote small businesses and self employment really well!

So I completely understand wanting to sell your work for 20k but how about the middle ground of just replacing your full time job with making art? That’s an amazing feat. Even if you can make 20-30 or even 40-50k a year from your work that would be great wouldn’t it? If you try to aspire to being big in the art world be prepared to be blocked by the elite gate keeping that world. And taking most of your money for your work. ✌🏻

There are channels that don’t talk and just show art. I can recommend a few. Check out NYC Gallery Openings. They don’t speak a single word.
