Robyn wondering what happened is honestly comical. You happened Robyn. The og 3 were able to manage Kody as well as they could, but then you came in whispering abt the patriarchy, and head of household, and how much you want to see Kody take charge and finally be the leader of the family; and kissing a married man, being the mistress, causing strife; and all the secrets and lies between you and Kody, causing tension w/ the others. You happened. And he let it. And Meri thought she was getting an ally against J & C, but severely underestimated your goals and ambitions. You became the head wife and mismanaged that position horrendously.

Has anyone noticed Robyn never speaks of what she hoped to bring to the family or how she aided her sister wives in facilitating a relationship with all of their children. With Robyn, it's generally, "my kids", "my kids and Janelle's kids", my kids and Christine's kids". "i want", "I thought", etc. It seems she wanted a "plural family" based on her unrealistic expectations while doing nothing to contribute to the family or the lives of her stepchildren.
I wish I could like this comment 2 times. Robyn brought her debt to the other family. MERI AND JENNELLE rented after they sold their house kody needed to buy Robyn a house Robyn gets the left overs Robyn gets the short stick says Cody yet Robyn got the best. A house his time, his wife. After he matted her adopted her kidd he should have divorced her and married meri again. It has always been obvious Robyn was his favorite and he set up life off the others backs so they could just be together. They thought the others wives would just be stupid and keep working for their happiness and comfort the rest of their lives and christina said he'll no. Then Janelle a d meri finally said what's the point.

I wonder if they put up a facade because they liked being on tv. This harem somewhat was functional when the children were young with ready made babysitters but minus the children a harem never works. A man will always have his favourite wife. Never give a man that much power
I think the other 3 wives were brainwashed with their religion. They likely really believed they weren't going to heaven unless they stayed married to the knucklehead! I truthfully think he knew that and played off their fear. I think he believes it too though and was also afraid to lose them for fear of hell..
Luckily the kids grew up and told the women how awful Kody is.. as a father and husband. I believe the kids helped the women gain enough strength to leave. By verbally telling the women and Kody showing the women himself. (Forgetting Gabe's birthday, saying the boys have to apologize, one of Christine's kids had a surgery he missed.. etc. I think hurting the kids hurt the moms 50x more and sped up the divorce process)

The most dysfunctional time in the family wasnt the first 20 years but the last 10 plus.
I think the dysfunction happened the whole 30+ years.
Robyn thinks her sobbing routine is going to buy her sympathy.

Others have cited the move to Las Vegas and seperate homes as a key downward spiral and i agree. I binge watched the show from episode 1 season 1 and also noticed how upset Christine was when Kody started courting Robyn when she was heavily pregnant. Janelle and Meri hated each other and still now barely tolerate each other. They did have some good times when the children where young and despite what Christine said i watched early episodes with family gatherings. A harem is a disaster

Division and jealousy is what happened long before Robyn came along. The first three admit they never had a relationship with each other. They couldn’t stand each other. Meri introduced Kody to Robyn. Robyn was courted and married in an attempt to fix what was already lacking in the other marriages. I don’t think the wife’s thought about Robyn being submissive to Kody and letting him lead the family. Maybe she is manipulative or maybe she’s not. If she is she’s no more than the rest. I don’t think it’s working for her either. She wanted a family that they pretended to be so she was lied to as well.
Edited to add: The division was even more highlighted when they moved to Los Vegas and moved in separate homes.
Robyn coming into the family just highlighted the dysfunction and lies Kody and the other wives were trying too present to the world. Their relationships didn’t work before Robyn came.

Christine had her long insecurities about sharing him from the beginning and Robyn was the breaking point and sent her catty and gossipy self overboard.

There was no facade. I just binge watched the show all the problems were always present and Robyn tried to other herself from the other women. All families have a level of dysfunction at the end of the day it is still family. You don't always have to talk problems out. Sometimes you just get up the next day and somt talk avout the nasty argument from the day before.
I also rewatched some of the episodes. I think the first three wives gave 100% and shouldered different responsibilities. The kids grew up and their priorities changed. Nothing wrong with some me time. Kody still wanted to be the end all be all dynamic in the relationships and everyone but him evolved as aging occurred. He had three very strong and intelligent wives who basically did not need him. It appeared that they believed in the basic theory of polygamy, but needed more. Much respect to the ladies for moving forward with their own lives. The children have each handled the downfall of structured family in their own ways. Wishing them all the best. We just shared parts of their lives and the kids had no choice in the decisions. 💕

The first 20 years weren't dysfunctional. KODY was dysfunctional and the young women followed him because they were conditioned or taught that was what they should do. If Robyn thought this was a safe place for her kids, then why didn't she allow her children to be around the other children? Their own siblings.

Kody was and is in love with Robyn when he met her and still is. He never loved his other 3 wives. He clearly cared for them but he didn’t love them though. Robyn knew that then and she knows that now, but now so do the other wives 😮💨
It was simply allowing, condoning and really asking Kody to spend more time with her than the other wives. We’ve heard that Robyn needed him more because of the young children she had. Kody had just as many babies with the other wives, but still divided his time equally. Robyn may not have known, but of course this will not go over well with the other sister wives when Kody did not afford them the same attention when they had multiple small children. There’s a reason why he preferred Robyn over the other wives and I believe deep down she knows why and so does Kody. Let it go Robyn, but understand this happened under your watch, you could have changed things if you’d wanted a different result, but you wanted to be the “top wife” the others under you.
