I visited Porvoo in February 2019, at a real twist of unlikely weather, when there was no snow in all of coastal southern Finland. It was still so beautiful; the cosiest place I have ever visited. Your video, so beautifully made, allowed me to now see it at its best; breathtakingly beautiful, dressed in all that snow and ice! I'm definitely coming back.
Im so glad you got to see it dressed in its winter gown even virtually. Alot of the snow is melting now since the weather has been above 0. Summer is also a great time to visit Porvoo and there is an old steam boat that goes from Helsinki and up the river to Porvoo.
What a lovely tour...... i liked being part of it.... like i was walking around with you. I too would have gone "oooh" and "ahhh" over that building, and the door, and the old heaters and the tall ceilings ❤ And these foxes! They're so cute! 18:09
I absolutely loved this video! It brings back so many memories of my year in Porvoo, as an art student. You captured the scenery and mood in such a perfect way. You could absolutely make a series about Finnish towns! ❤️
"Glückauf" is an interesting name for a boat, it's a german miners' greeting. Maybe it was used for ore or coal transportation. Thank you for sharing your corner of the world!
Thank you so much! I also think that the Porvoo cathedral is stunning in its simplicity. I wish you and your family a Happy New Year as well. Hugs from Finland
@@savingsiskola I am following you, for sure! I look forward to seeing your plans progress on your sweet cottage. Cottages here are similar, passed down through families and often a mismash of styles over decades as well. Some have been turned into air bnbs and are renovated and other people build huge cottages that are bigger most peoples' homes here. I prefer the charm and coziness of small cottages myself.
@@dorisbetts3012 I bet there are many similarities between Finland and Canada. Not only the climate but the people and the relationship with nature. I also love the small and cozy cottages most. Happy to have you on this journey!❤️
@@savingsiskola Hei, rakas ystäväni! Olen täällä ensimmäistä kertaa, kaverit! Olet söpö kun kuuntelet yhdessä vanhaa musiikkia vanhasta radiosta! He puhuivat ja nauroivat paljon! Pidin ympäristöstä, jossa asut, missä vietät kaikki päiväsi! Rakastan Suomea! Rakastan monia asioita! Mielestäni elämä tulee pitää auki, jotta ei väliä milloin, mitä tahansa ja kuka tahansa voi tulla siihen! Valitettavasti en puhu kieliä, mutta olen kommunikoiva ja ystävällinen ihminen. Thank you for your video. I’ll visit Porvoo on December. Hope I will have a beautiful snow in the river by then
My pleasure! I hope there will be some snow then ⛄️😊
Thank you Louisa for touring us around one of Finland's beautiful towns, it was lovely!
So glad you enjoyed it!😊
Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful video ❤Love everything about it.
Thank you so much!! ❤️
Very interesting to see the differences in what Finnish Christmas decorations look like.
In Finland we don’t do too elaborate decorations. I imagine New York must have quite the opposite. 🤩
Happy New Year 2023 ❤️
Porvoo is so beautiful place. Love it! ❤️
Happy New Year Mia! ❤️🥂

Yes, you are right! I did not do any research about the subject in advance!

@@dorisbetts3012 Thank you! I must have quite a strange accent with all the mixtures of languages in my life. Hahaha!
Thank you for the lovely video. Do you know if most vendors accept credit cards, or should I bring cash?
Thank you and yes they do. Are you planning a trip to Porvoo? 😊
@savingsiskola Yes. I'm going to Helsinki next week, and your video has encouraged me to take a day trip to Porvoo.
@ That is great! Totally worth a visit. There is unfortunaly no snow at the moment but still a lovely place to visit. Have fun! 😊
