As someone who does not have a lot of time to play, I really appreciate this advice. My biggest struggle with this game is map knowledge because I play so little. Having a bit of guidance towards how to actually build a good foundation for myself is what I was missing. Thanks again Shady, you're a natural at these instructional videos and your information is very approachable for us noobs/timmies/casual gamers. Cheers
Got a chance to try this method today (I've never played Port before). My first tac ops landed me some good gear and a few games later I even survived an ambush in the sewer extract. The other 3 or 4 tries were failed extracts but successful experiences. So far so good for this guy... Thanks Shady!
@@Official_Socialist_USSR Happy to hear that! I'm still somewhat on a grind to hit legend - I just want to prove myself that Ican reach it. After that I'm planning to focus even more on guides, tips and such.
@@paulruggaber9544 Good to hear!! I hope that in total your balance is positive! If you have 1 game where you extract with 200k+ it will give you again 5-6 new trys. @@ShadyFoxGG I'm losing most games at the moment but I am learning. I feel like each area of Port takes a bit of time to learn the fighting angles, camping positions to check, flanking patterns and bot spawns. I enjoy the grind but I'm only getting in about a dozen games a week so it's slow going.
If you have one of those equipment cards, I recommend using them in normal mode and just extracting with them, i think Northridge is the best map to do that.

Don't adjust your gameplay to the 'pros'... That's the best advice I've ever heard about this game. There are many ways to be successful in AB. It's not like other games where there is an optimal route that's far better than the others.
TY for sharing this!! There are dozens of players who watch the pro's stream and ask for their settings/sensitivity, etc. That doesn't really help. We can learn their positining and try adopting some bits and pieces from the way they play but even if we mimic the gear and route the outcome is going to be pain and frustration. In order to play on such a level the players first need to master their controls. I'm close to legend and I still have some areas where I lack experience or practice. Sometimes I feel that pro's would have done that kill 10 out of 10 times... until we have these we need to keep focusing on improving our gameplay BUT not by aiming instantly for godmode gameplay.
Normal mode is annoying for me, because of player scavs. Lockdown is a mode that I like because the enemy will also be cautious of their loot, as the player scavs have nothing to lose and will often break limbs making me vulnerable to other player PMCs.
That's a valid point, however in normal mode ops players sometimes bring in t4-t5 and they become easy prey. In lockdown, you need to be on top of things to avoid getting hunted by an enemy squad. On Port, I see a relatively low amount of ppl running solo, which means you need to fight always against 2-3 enemies. There are pros and cons and generally speaking I'm not a big fan of normal game mode, except for Port.
Thx man! Much appreciated. It's so nice to see that more and more people find my channel! It's damn hard nowadays to get in front of people. It makes me proud though that often the number of returning viewers for videos is higher than new viewers which is often not the case for channels. I'm still trying to improve though to make my content more interesting by spicing it with some humor or craziness.
my favourite route in port (scav) is go down to the bottom street then make my way to the stairs to the roof, these a few bots there (if it hasnt been looted already) and a free safe there as well. one time i saw the boss and i actually killed him as i got an airdrop before and has stocked on nades. sadly i didnt extract but it was pretty fun using the rpk
That's a pretty riskly area but in case you get out alive it's worth! I rather position myself to the middle of the map (where we have another free safe) and I head into the directions from where I hear noises. The center part fo the map is usually full of players as many are trying to use the canal extract + also some use it the camp therefore I find that are a nice placex to be at. Also you can hear mose of the noises from there.
Thank you for your suggestion, i agree port is the best way to make money now. The maps isnt larger so if you know all spawn point, you ca easily find the player,if you heard gun firing you can know where they are...
Exactly! You can even bring that strategy to the next level if you are somewhat familier with the gun sounds and you can estimate the gunpower you are facing before you head into the fight. On Port it's good to stay on the move and primary focus should be outside of the Port building. There's too much danger inside... while replying it made me think that it may be worth doing a guide with my recommendations on how to play the Port map.

Guides sprinkled with some extra, how to make money on different maps WITHOUT needing godlike skills. I still want to hit legend but in terms of videos I want to support players regardless of their rank. In case somebody wants to watch a legend 50star+ player there are plenty to choose from - it's just matter of time and my son will be one of those.

Thanks for the support!!
I tried running some games in T4 on Port and tbh I didn't see a big difference compared to T3. The outcome of the fights often doesn't depend on your armor. You gun plays a big role as you need to have damage but usually it comes down to who has a better spot/angle or who spots the enemy first. I died with my H416, T5 armor, T4 bullets to a guy running with a 5k gun on Farm after coming out of another fight and being slightly injured. His timing was nice and he attacked me from the side.
Valley covert is pretty good sometimes, specally when the villa boss are in the games and some player can be killed by villa boss or run away before finishing villa boss squad , the value can be 100-300k koen
I'm going to give this a try and circle back in the format of the video. I see some potential but even if we survive in the villa we need to have a safe extract path. My issue with valley is that it's full with Mosin, AX and other snipers. The hill next to the camp is pretty deadly!
I play with 2 mags and additional ammo is in my composite case. I do that in all game modes and usually I run with a 60mag+30mag and extra 90-120 ammo in my composite. I talked about this in more detail in my "how to reach ace as a casual player" video.
Came back to this video because I was just on port with some friends. They were teaching me the map and I got a TI mod in the free safe in cafeteria. It might be worth looting in normal mode.
Opening the free safes is okay, I also found a vase or such in normal mode but it's pretty rare and what I meant is that looting should not be a focus at all. In more cases, it's a waste of time even if you secure the port and loot all boxes you'll not get as much as what you can get from other players. Looting the free safe in the café and that building in the middle of the map is what I usually do but I don't open the drawers and such.
Thank you Vampire muffin for sharing. I also lost a bunch of koen due to the grind from ace to legend and that's why I was trying to thing of a good strategy that helps me boosting my balance again. Imo Armory is the loot map, Valley is the sniper map, Port is close range/fights practice, NR is diverse and graet for rank... and Farm.. well Farm really dpeends on the lobby. It can be hardcore against thermals or easy run against timmies.
It was a moment where I showed how not to push an enemy. Imo it's not really the gun. You can push with SMG and AR also. It's more the timing and the way of doing it.
